A race to the finish, the Heroes for Healing fund raiser is a spirited and lively competition amongst members of the community who are determined to make a difference in the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Each participant, selected to be part of the campaign by nomination, and their team of sidekicks outreach within their communities in an effort to creatively raise funds, Every dollar raised becomes a “vote” and it is during our annual Gala that the person with the most votes is awarded the prestigious title “Hero for Healing”, Marking the finish of the campaign, the Gala celebrates the participants’ efforts in driving funds and awareness, bringing together family, friends, team members, and camp supporters for a special celebration.

THAT LIFE BRINGS. For over 35 years, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times has been a fountain of youth, of love, of healing for thousands of children courageously waging a battle with cancer. Just a stone’s throw from the quiet California hamlet of Idyllwild and the San Jacinto Mountains, our medically supervised residential camp invites children of all ages who’ve been diagnosed with cancer - whether or not they are currently undergoing treatment - to participate in a variety of inspired programs designed to build strength and instill a personal sense of hope. Siblings and the parents of our younger campers are also invited to share in the Camp experience, encouraging stronger bonds between family members while at the same time helping to replace the anguish of childhood cancer with hope and enthusiasm. Better yet, all of Camp’s year-round programs are offered at absolutely no cost to campers and their deserving families. At Camp, time stands still. Smiles replace worries. Nightmares become dreams. And belting out a favorite tune is not only encouraged but required. At Camp, HEALING HAPPENS .

CAMP PROGRAMS SU MMER SLEEP AWAY C A MP · Open to all youths and their siblings nine years of age and older, the five night and six day Summer Camp sessions encourage campers to let their creative juices run wild, discover new skills, and refine existing talents through a wide variety of fun and challenging activities. With campers invited to attend Camp until they graduate high school, we take great pride in our ability to include each and every camper, regardless of treatment or ability, in every one of the scheduled activities, each leaving Camp empowered and ready to tackle the challenges that come their way.

FA M ILY C AMP · Family Camp’s three day two night sessions offer children under the age of eight that are undergoing treatment for cancer and their families the rare opportunity to relax and reconnect. Recognizing the important role strong relationships play throughout the healing process, Family Camp brings together families from all walks of life, encouraging new friendships, offering support, and fostering strong bonds. To meet the cultural and linguistic needs of our Latino families, Family Camp is also offered in Spanish - Campamento Familiar, making it the only Spanish language child oncology camp in the nation. WILDERNESS OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP PROG RA M (W.O. L . P) · Geared to campers aged 15 through 18, W.O.L.P. is specifically designed to guide teens as they transition into adulthood. Under the guidance of specially trained adult counselors, W.O.L.P fosters group and individual goal-setting in addition to building leadership skills through unique activities including an overnight backpacking trip, leadership exercises, and the opportunity for participants to direct activities for our younger campers. W.O.L.P. campers also attend Winter Camp, further supporting positive adolescent development.
