Sincerely,

STUDENT

“In Partnership, I have gained the confidence to speak my mind and more important, my heart.”

“Since I have been in The Partnership Program, my grades have been doing a lot better; my teachers don’t give me room to fail, only succeed.”

“Sierra Mountain has provided me with the opportunity to expand my horizons, better my grades, work at my own pace, increase my study skills, improve my student-teacher relationships and has made me a happier person. Because of SMHS, I have a drama-free environment with 100% grade improvement.”

“By attending Bear River for four years, I have gained social and life experiences that have made me a stronger person.”

“I have gained opportunities from Sierra Mountain. I was able to get a job; I am still able to dance through my old school and am able to work at my own pace.”

“From Bear River I have gained a well-rounded education. Many bonds have been formed between my teachers and me. I am so thankful to have taught skills needed, such as perseverance and personal motivation.”

“The thing I like most about NU is the fact that your counselors not only help you walk a mile, but push you to go two.”

“When I came into high school, I was afraid I would never see my friends because of the size of NU. Now that I’ve been in partnership, I feel like I get to see my family (not only friends) for most of the day. It’s comforting.”

“From coming to Sierra Mountain, I have gained the ability to get the grades I want. I haven’t had such good grades in I can’t remember how long.”

“From Bear River I have gained loyal friends and wonderful memories to last a lifetime. I also have gained several opportunities I would not have been able to experience outside of school.”

“I like the fact that NU encompasses every aspect of anyone’s personality with the large array of electives, ROPs and after school clubs.”

“The thing I like most about Bear River is how small it is and we are like a family.”

NEVADA JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT

Bear River High School (BRHS) and Nevada Union High School (NUHS) are comprehensive high schools that serve grades 9-12. They are committed to academic excellence and are cornerstones of the community that surrounds and supports them. Available courses offer students a rigorous curriculum and a course selection that offers preparation for post-secondary studies and career planning. These award-winning schools provide students with numerous co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. We are planning for a limited number of students to be able to take a blend of online courses and regular classroom courses and retain NU or Bear River enrollment status.

CALIFORNIA PARTNERSHIP ACADEMY—TELECOMMUNICATIONS This is a small supportive learning community designed to establish a partnership among students, teachers and local businesses and which provides academic rigor, enrichment activities, and specific supportive strategies for student success. Electronic ‘tablets’ are provided to all students and their use is integrated into the curriculum delivery.
