Join in the Fun at Wanaka Cliffhangers Annual Climbing Competition

D

o you like climbing on/up things?

Then come along to Basecamp Climbing Centre for the Cliff hangers Climbing Club annual fun climbing competition.

Anyone can enter - you don't need to be a member of Cliffhangers. In fact we are hoping for entries from all over the place: Central Otago, the Lakes area, and the McKenzie Country.

You don't need to be an experienced climber either, the emphasis is on having

a go and having fun. We have heaps of awesome spot prizes too, but you have to be entered and present to win those!!

It's on Saturday 26th November, starting at 10am. Registrations open at 9am and it costs $15.

Cliffhangers was started by a group of climbing enthusiasts who wanted to support climbing in our area, particularly for younger climbers.

Currently we run climbing classes for children and young people, plus an adults climbing night on Wednesdays.

06/11/2011 Police received a report of threatening behaviour where a local male was threatened with a firework at a Rata Street address. The offender, a 16 year old female, has been identified and will be referred to YAS. 06/11/2011 Four local 16 year olds were returned to their parents when found acting suspiciously on Rata Street in the early hours of the morning. With the impending examinations hopefully they will spend some time at furthering their education, as at present, a career on the wrong side of the law beckons for some.

06/11/2011 Police dealt with a motor vehicle collision in which a vehicle hit a tourist van and failed to stop. The offending vehicle and driver have been located and it is likely the 57 year old female driver will be making a court appearance.

Remember always to stop and ascertain injury in any vehicle collision. It is a legal duty and more importantly a moral obligation.
