Exciting Changes for the Brain Injury Liaison Service in Central Otago Brain Injury Otago is adapting its service to meet the needs of the everchanging Wanaka community. We wish to welcome Tara McNally as a new Liaison Officer for the Central Otago region. She is looking forward to meeting and supporting the Wanaka community. Tara will be running a monthly drop-in clinic in Wanaka. We support people with traumatic brain injuries, concussion, brain tumors, aneurysms, and other medical events. Our mission is to provide direction, choice, and independence for people affected by brain injury.

We provide a free and independent service throughout the entire Otago area. The service provides an ongoing link for people in the community as they rebuild their lives after brain injury. Individuals, agencies and medical providers can refer to the service. We also provide education to community groups and can tailor it to cover specific needs e.g., support staff, sports clubs. Much Loved Choruses and Carols Feature in Regional Choir’s Concert

Stirring and well-known choral works, delightful Christmas carols and talented guest artists will come together in the Central Otago Regional Choir’s Glorious Choruses concert on 25 November. The Choir’s three young guests are sure to impress. Teddy Finney Waters, an 18-year-old classical singer from Dunedin is the current leader of the NZ Secondary Students’ Choir. Cellist Boudewijn Keenan, 2023 winner of the Dunedin Concerto Competition, will play pieces by Rachmaninoff and Paganini, and Honours student Cameron Monteath who WHAT: Central Otago Regional Choir Glorious Choruses Concert performed with the choir in 2022, returns to accompany both WHEN: 7.30pm, 25 November WHERE: Lake Wanaka Centre, 89 Ardmore St Teddy and Boudewijn, as well as playing ‘Liebeslied’ by Kreisler. TICKETS: $30 from Paper Plus or choir members. School students free. The Choir’s programme includes arrangements of lesser-known traditional carols, with conductor Richard Madden ramping up the energy and volume for Sir Edward Elgar’s ‘Land of Hope and Glory’, the dramatic and inspirational ‘O Fortuna’ from Camina Burana, ‘Lacrymosa’ from Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s ‘Va, Pensiero’ and finally, Handel’s ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ from The Messiah.
