It has been a truly awful month with locals and visitors driving badly on our roads. We appreciate those who see dangerous driving and call the police. Letâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s keep the roads safe for everyone and keep our speed down. Donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t forget that anything over the speed limit is speeding. It has been very heartening to see the average speed on my radar device being around the 97km/h mark opposed to, not that long ago, being 107km/h. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s clear that the majority of you have adjusted your normal driving speed. It is a great time to remember that it is a speeding offence to go more than 20 km/h past an accident sign so think about those on the roads tending to someone who is injured or has crashed.

What has happened this weekâ&#x20AC;Ś We attended an address in Aeolus Place where someone unlawfully went on to a property.

We arrested two males on two separate occasions where they were driving on suspended licences. One attempted to evade police but was located a short time later and faces a myriad of charges as a result.

We were called to a fight at a bar in Ardmore Street on Saturday morning. That wouldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have happened if people controlled their drinking.

We had a call about another scam where the offenders have named themselves as employees of SPARK and were asking for bank details. Donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t give your bank details to anyone especially over the telephone.

We also dealt with a male who breached a protection order and was therefore held in custody to appear in court. Court orders are there for a reason.

There was another crash on the Cardrona Valley Road involving local drivers. Luckily there were no injuries just a few hundred broken glasses that were being transported. Be careful and donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t be in a rush out there on the roads.

A local male was arrested for threatening the parking warden. I have no idea what would make him think that type of behaviour was acceptable and the witnesses were as shocked as the warden.
