Sustainable brand Graphenstone is the official paint supplier to GAIL’s Bakery

- GRAPHENSTONE -

Graphenstone Paints, one of the most certified sustainable brands in the industry, is proud to announce that it is now the official paint supplier for GAIL’s Bakery.

Graphenstone’s ‘Purifying Paints’ are revolutionising the industry. Its low-odour, mineral-rich paints combine ancient, non-toxic ingredients such as artisanal lime and silicates with an innovative 21stcentury material called graphene.

Combining these natural and sustainable raw materials with the properties of graphene greatly enhances the mineral bases’ performance, delivering a traditional mineral-based paint with Class 1 durability. This feature is essential for reducing refurbishment costs of spaces with higher-than-average footfall levels.

GAIL’s Bakery is well-known for its sustainable ethos, which runs through the heart of its brand, from the food it creates and serves, to the materials it uses in its chain of restaurants. The company has worked hard to source the best quality sustainable materials across all of GAIL’s real estate portfolio.

Most bakeries are located within neighbourhood settings focusing on local communities such as Henley, Radlett, Epping and Hawley Wharf. They are often located in older buildings, which require a sensitive approach to refurbishment.

So far, over twenty bakeries have been furnished using Graphenstone’s flagship formulations, Ambient Pro+ and GraffClean (Matt), and Graphenstone’s founder, Patrick Folkes estimates that this has already resulted in a CO2(e)* saving of approximately 1 tonne when calculated across twenty bakery sites.

Patrick Folkes, Founder of Graphenstone UK says,”I love that GAIL’s passion for creating good bread and delicious pastries follows through to their passion for minimising their carbon footprint. We have seen a real shift in the motivation for retailers and those in the hospitality sector specifying our air purifying paints in a wider industry move towards creating healthier indoor environments. The quality and ingredients of the paints we apply on walls are as important as the food and drinks we consume.”

GAIL’s Bakery, Head of Property Michelle PollardSmith, says, “We feel that Graphenstone is a significant supplier for us, and we chose their paints due to their outstanding environmental credentials as it aligns with our drive towards achieving a lower carbon footprint right across our portfolio. In addition to the obvious CO2 and CO2 (e) savings, Graphenstone’s high-quality paints have a washability ‘ Wet Scrub Class 1’ rating. This means we can reduce repainting costs needed per store, which is a real cost-saving when multiplied across sites.”

With this partnership, Graphenstone further adds to its fast-growing client list, which includes Colicci, Soho House, The Grosvenor Estates, Meta, Eden Project, and No1 St James.

The Key to Intelligent Integration and Control in Hotels

In the fast evolving hotel design industry, the implementation of automation systems has brought a revolution in the way we interact with spaces and services. The quest for efficient intelligent integration and control has led to the emergence of the KNX standard as a fundamental element in this domain. This article delves deeper into how Zennio, a leading provider of automation solutions, exploits the power of the KNX standard to enable seamless communication between different systems and devices within a hotel building. By offering a centralized and integrated control system known as the Guest Room Management System (GRMS), Zennio transforms the way hotels manage and control their operations.

The KNX standard serves as a communication protocol that seamlessly connects various elements within a hotel, including lighting, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation,

and Air Conditioning), access control, energy management, and more. Zennio’s expertise focuses on managing and integrating these diverse systems into a single, centrally controlled GRMS. By doing so, they empower hotels to adopt a great approach to managing and controlling their operations, eliminating the need for separate control interfaces for each system. This consolidation simplifies the overall management process and enhances efficiency.

One of the standout advantages of the KNX standard is its exceptional ability to achieve interoperability between different systems. In practical terms, this means that devices from various manufacturers can intercommunicate and work seamlessly together, irrespective of their individual specifications. This level of interoperability provides hotel owners and operators with the freedom to select devices and systems that best suit their unique needs, without being locked into a specific vendor or technology. And Zennio ensures compatibility, promoting flexibility and choice for hotels.

Flexibility and adaptability are further reinforced by the KNX standard’s scalability. Zennio’s automation solution is specifically designed to accommodate expansion and adaptation over time. As hotels evolve and their needs change, new devices and functionalities can be easily added to the existing system. This scalability ensures that the automation system can grow alongside the establishment, catering to the evolving requirements of the hotel. Owners and operators can customize and tailor the functionality of the system to match the specific needs of each project, allowing for optimal performance and efficiency.

By connecting all systems and devices in a hotel to a centralized management and control platform, Zennio empowers owners and operators with complete control over every aspect of room or área automation within the building. Through a user-friendly interface, authorized personnel can easily monitor and manage these systems, ensuring optimal guest experiences, operational efficiency, and sustainability. The ability to have a comprehensive view and control of the entire hotel automation system enhances decision-making and improves overall operational performance.

In addition to centralized control, Zennio’s automation system leverages sensors and actuators to collect real-time data and automatically adjust environmental parameters such as lighting and temperature. This intelligent control capability optimizes guest comfort and energy efficiency, further enhancing the overall guest

experience. For example, the system can detect occupancy in a room and adjust the lighting and temperature accordingly, creating a personalized and comfortable environment for guests. This level of automation reduces the need for manual intervention, streamlines operations, and improves resource management.

Moreover, the owner can use de GRMS data to improve his operation. They are now able to read their efficiency attending the “Make up room” demands from guests, knowing when the guests make their request and when this request is attended by the cleaning service. Or they can know if average guest temperture setpoint in the rooms is lower or higher than expected, so the hotel can reduce the energy waste in the engine room lowering the consumption.

In conclusion, the Zennio hospitality solution, built on the foundation of the KNX standard, emerges as the key to achieving efficient intelligent integration and control in hotels. The interoperability and flexibility afforded by the KNX standard enable the seamless integration of diverse devices and systems into a centralized platform. Zennio’s focus on intelligent control and adaptability empowers owners and operators to create customized, efficient, and secure environments that attend to the unique requirements of each hotel. By embracing the power of automation and intelligent integration, hotels can elevate the guest experience, drive operational efficiency, and contribute to a sustainable future.

From cable car powerhouse to world-class steakhouse

- HAWKSMOOR CHICAGO -

INTERIOR architecture design studio Macaulay Sinclair has unveiled its impressive renovation of a 16,500 square foot space to launch renowned British steakhouse and cocktail bar Hawksmoor’s new Chicago venue.

The former LaSalle Street Cable Car Powerhouse dating back to 1887 has been refurbished into an upmarket dining destination in a collaboration between the studio and Hawksmoor’s design team led by Mai-Yee Ng. In its heyday, thousands of cable cars were pulled to the site daily, bringing around 100,000 workers downtown – now the focus is on a new kind of experience.

Director Mike Sinclair explained: “From the outset this project, like so much of what we aim to achieve, was about celebrating and preserving the rich history of this incredible building. Hawksmoor has an awardwinning concept and standout food and drink menus, that we aim to elevate through our designs.

“Careful restoration and dedication to research has been integral to the project development to ensure Chicago is at the heart and soul of the space, with Hawksmoor’s signature sophistication giving it a new lease of life. Entering the international home of steakhouses is no easy feat, and it was integral to deliver something special.”

Restorations celebrate the original barrel-vaulted ceilings, exposed timber joists, and red brickwork; the historic fabric of Chicago architecture. New designed elements were also incorporated, drawing inspiration from the ‘Golden Age of Travel’ such as the radiused edges of the private dining rooms ceiling echoing train carriages. In addition, bespoke wood paneling, luxury leather seating, and brass fixtures and fittings are reminiscent of a bygone era.

On the ground floor, a brass wraparound bar is the focal point to a 125-seat dining room, but the real story takes place behind the bottles. A back bar built of eco glazed brick slips, handcrafted in the UK by the original tiling manufacturer for the London Underground, an international icon of transport design. Also brought across from the UK was the parquet flooring that is used throughout the first two floors, tumbled and triple-stained for a more authentic and aged appearance. The first floor features space for a further 76 covers, with an additional resplendent bar with the roof space, set to open in the autumn, offering a bookable events floor.

Supporting a truly immersive experience is the decorative lighting designs, as with all Hawksmoor venues, crafted to complement the interior and story of the space. Chicago has been illuminated by wall sconces, hanging pendants and table lights all designed by Macaulay Sinclair using brass and Holophane glass. A subtle nod to the transport and industrial past of the building.

It comes just three years since Macaulay Sinclair embarked on a journey across the pond to help bring Hawksmoor to New York City. The historic United Charities Building in Gramercy Park was transformed to embrace some class British touches, while still preserving its landmark status; the dining room’s grandeur was meticulously brought back to life, featuring ornate plaster work and Ionic columns.

Mike added: “Having worked with Mai-Yee for many years, there is an understanding and synergy between our vision. Seeing a new Hawksmoor unveiled for the first time is always an emotional moment and a huge sense of achievement given the amount of hard work that has been invested.

“Stepping foot into the Chicago market has been a new challenge for us, and we are extremely proud. We hope to create memorable experiences for diners here and are excited to see what the city makes of it.”

Hawksmoor Chicago opened on 27 June at 500 N. LaSalle Drive, Chicago.

Where style meets innovation

- STAR-EMEA -

With the hospitality industry facing challenges on a number of fronts, the right technology choices can provide opportunities for enhanced customer service and loyalty, whilst delivering solutions to specific challenges such as rising operational costs and staff shortages. Coupled with this, a growing consumer appetite for multi-channel ordering and delivery options within hospitality is driving demand for advanced POS, bar and kitchen order printing solutions that boast innovative, feature-rich technology.

International POS hardware solutions provider Star Micronics discusses the pivotal role front and back of house hospitality technology plays in overcoming the challenges venues currently face.

Superior Connectivity for a Seamless Ordering Experience

In order to ensure a seamless customer ordering experience, a range of connectivity options are essential so as to facilitate the printing of remote orders as well as local print jobs via wired or wireless connectivity for both mobile and fixed POS. Moreover, a single printer that offers such a solution provides a cost-effective, futureproof option as well as the flexibility to manage multiple networking infrastructure upgrades and the seamless transition from traditional POS to tablet and cloud POS.

Technology such as Star CloudPRNT™ offers the ideal solution for venues keen to integrate online, table and mobile ordering. For example, Star’s mC-Print™ series and TSP143IV series with built-in CloudPRNT technology enable order printing directly from web and Cloud based apps and, at the same time, can handle local print jobs from the point of sale. With customer orders sent directly to the printer, Star CloudPRNT increases order accuracy and eliminates the need for an additional tablet in the restaurant or bar. Moreover, table ordering can reduce long queues at the bar, while printers can fire out tickets for different stations within the venue, avoiding bottlenecks during peak times.

Clearly, technology has to be flexible and scalable as well as operate efficiently to avoid unwanted downtime in a busy environment. A managed cloud service such as StarPrinter.Online allows the relevant hardware to be connected to the online ordering system within minutes and receive orders from any location as well as from customers using any kind of device.

Providing enhanced online visibility of connectivity and print jobs, the service also offers device management via an online dashboard to equip venues with an overview of all devices and activity including reliable tracking of print jobs with notification of device status changes, barcode scans, new device connections to a group, etc. Additional printers and peripherals can simply be added without the need for server upgrades, further enhancing the versatility of the service and operational efficiency.

Solutions for Self-Service Terminals

With greater customer demand for self-service terminals to facilitate food and beverage orders and the added opportunity for venues to redeploy staff who would otherwise be taking orders, a reliable printer that is equipped with the specialist features and connectivity for integration into unattended selfordering terminals is pivotal.

Easy to install and maintain, the packaged Star mCPrint3 with its front operation and wide range of connectivity options alongside large paper roll and paper near end sensor to give ample warning of paper changes is the printer of choice for some of the largest hospitality chains and independent venues that have introduced self-ordering into their channel.

Advanced Labelling Solutions

With the rise in multichannel ordering across hospitality in recent years accompanied by increasing demand for customer collection, third party delivery and legislation around accurate ingredients and allergy identification for pre-packed food, the requirement for efficient labelling solutions has surged. Amongst the range of labelling solutions currently available, linerless labels stand out for their eco-friendly

properties and operational efficiencies as there is no backing paper to discard.

The ability to print different sized and types of labels from one easy-to-use device including variable length food and allergy labels, nutrition information as well as food delivery labels and bag seals from web-based apps or local devices is essential. The Star mC-Label3 printer offers the ideal solution thanks to its ability to print on a wide range of liner-free media including low adhesive ‘re-stick’ labels as well as high adhesive permanent and semi-permanent labels. It is also designed for traditional liner pre-sized labels and continuous label rolls and receipt paper.

As popularity grows for sustainable packaging and reusable cups, accurate customer order identification becomes even more critical. Star’s mC-Label3 and TSP143IVSK printers have been designed to print repositionable and easily removable labels within hospitality to accurately print on a wide range of packaging materials for customer collection as well as delivery.

All-in-One Integrated Hospitality Hardware

Developing a hardware solution in the knowledge all products and peripherals are successfully integrated and provided by a single manufacturer provides greater reassurance the system will operate more efficiently and reliably. Star is continually expanding its portfolio of POS peripherals to include a range of cash drawers, tablet stands as well as desktop and handheld USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners that integrate seamlessly with its POS and label printers.

Creating a secure POS system

With security a key concern for many in the hospitality industry, POS peripherals that provide in-built security clearly offer a range of benefits. For example, Star cash drawers can provide 10 different lockset options for additional security, while an optional secure dualdrawer cable offers enhanced security and allows two cash drawers to be controlled by one printer. An under-counter mounting bracket enables valuable countertop space to be maximised and ensures the cash drawer is securely placed out of sight.

Furthermore, technology such as Star’s unique cash drawer connection sensing feature allows the printer to distinguish an open drawer or one which is completely disconnected, enhancing security. The information can be reported directly to a locally controlling application or via the cloud.

In the case of tablet stands, a durable steel enclosure with locking arms can prevent theft, while wall mounted options provide an ideal solution for

hospitality applications where multiple tablets and devices need to be easily accessible but fully secured and clear of workspaces.

Meeting branding and personalisation expectations

Without a doubt, customers are increasingly seeking tailored solutions. A cost-effective means of enhancing branding is to take advantage of the receipt or delivery label to include a personalised message, QR code or an offer to encourage repeat business. Not only does this help counter growing competition, but such an approach can also help venues respond to seasonal fluctuations etc.

Coupons can promote repeat custom by encouraging footfall on quiet evenings or advertising upcoming events for example, whilst logos and high-quality graphics can clearly enhance the overall appearance of receipts. For labels, Star’s Cloud-based free labelling app available on mC-Label3 offers a range of predesigned label templates as well as a one touch label function that allows for the storing and printing of up to three label designs.

Maintaining sustainability

With sustainability high on the agenda, there are a range of sustainable solutions that are both ecofriendly and cost effective while maintaining order accuracy. For example, the flexibility to select a 2mm top margin on receipts along with a reduced font size and thin paper capability can provide significant paper and cost savings.

In terms of media, for all linerless media a key benefit is the reduction in waste thanks to no backing paper to discard. And, for receipt paper, Star partners with paper manufacturers offering environmentally friendly media solutions that are both sustainable and recyclable.

Purifying paint brand Graphenstone partners with Kate Watson-Smyth on new ‘Italian’ inspired colour collection

- GRAPHENSTONE -

Grapenstone, one of the most widely certified paint brands in the world has collaborated with interiors influencer, blogger, and author Kate Watson Smyth of ‘Mad About the House’ on a new collection of paints initially created for Kate’s new dream home in Piedmont, Italy. The collection of 12 colours combines the deeply romantic shades of Northern Italy with the softer palette of the British countryside.

This evocative range of new colours have been used extensively throughout the 24-room villa, and Kate plans to use the property to host interior design retreats. Each of the colours has been named and ‘nod’ to their individual inspirations such as ‘Barolo’, a deep red which takes its cue from the regions famous Piedmont wine, ‘Gelato’ a soft yet richly pigmented plaster pink, or “Ortensia’ and ‘Giardino’, which both reflect the vibrant hydrangeas and shrubbery found in the garden of the noble villa Kate now calls home. The overall palette has been carefully curated to allow for multiple colour combinations, with something to suit all interior design tastes.

Patrick Folkes, founder Graphenstone UK said, “We are huge fans of Mad About the House and so inspired by Kate’s Italian adventure which led to her finding her dream home. We have worked closely together and are delighted to bring this colour collection to launch from our Norfolk factory. Using Kate’s unique interiors know how and trained eye, the palette is exquisite and works beautifully with Graphenstone’s sustainable ingredients and raw materials – one of the most certified ‘harm-free’ paints in the world.”

Graphenstone’s artisanal lime and graphene-based formulations work brilliantly when used older or heritage properties, as they allow surfaces to breathe, and actively contribute to air purification and CO2 absorption.

Kate said, “To create a bespoke palette of colours inspired by my very own Italian home and in a paint that is both kind to both people and the planet is a dream come true, and my very own slice of ‘La Dolce Vita’. Having been an interior’s writer and commentator for the past 20 years I really have studied every colour palette - The Italian Collection created with Graphenstone really does combine

everything you will ever need alongside being a natural mineral-based paint, better for the planet and healthier to live with”

The Italian collection is available to buy online at www.graphenstone-ecopaints.store

As part of its ongoing green business strategy, Graphenstone will now also plant a tree for every online order (including colour cards, and the new paint swatch patches), in partnership with Switch2Zero, a leading pioneer in sustainable technology solutions.

The first 100 days – what hospitality needs from the new government’s plan

- EVANS & CO -

Following Sir Keir Starmer’s election victory in July, leaders from all sectors have urged the incoming Labour Government to fulfil its pledge of prioritising economic growth. Gareth Evans – former chef and founder of Evans & Co Hospitality Accountants – tells us what the industry needs from our new Government’s plan.

An Immediate Reduction in VAT

To rejuvenate the hospitality industry swiftly, a reduction in VAT rates is essential. Without this adjustment, there is no quick fix to mitigate food inflation or address the ongoing challenges such as tax burdens, supply chain issues, staff recruitment from Europe, PAYE, and pandemic-related debts.

Passing these increased operating costs onto customers is not feasible, particularly as they are already enduring financial strain from the cost of living crisis over the past three years.

Business Rates Relief Extended

Increased food and utilities costs and a pending NMW rise are squeezing margins more tightly than ever, and there’s no doubt that an extension of the existing Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Business Rates Relief scheme which provides eligible businesses with 75% relief in Business Rates would certainly be welcomed.

Realistic Energy Price Caps

Whilst households benefit from energy price caps, there has never been a scheme in place for businesses, and several of our clients have seen their utility costs quadruple over the past few years Instead, the government introduced the Energy Bills Discount Scheme which offered discounted energy rates on eligible non-domestic energy contracts, but since this scheme ended in March 2024, no further government support has been announced

Alcohol Duty Reform

20% VAT is levied on food sold in pubs, but not in supermarkets, which in turn allows these retailers to subsidise artificially low beer prices. As figures show that consumers are spending less money in pubs and bars than at any time since the lockdown ended, this feels to many like yet another penalty at the expense of the struggling hospitality sector.

A Dedicated Minister for Hospitality

All of these issues and more need a strong voice at the highest level and whilst there’s been a lot of talk about a dedicated minister for the Night Time Economy, we believe the Hospitality sector as a whole needs a dedicated voice in Parliament. Implementing such a move would establish a national network of industry representatives to assist policymakers in navigating the sector’s unique challenges, showcasing a commitment to representation for the sector.

Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel unveils 2nd phase refurbishment with new club lounge and restaurant

- THE CROWNE PLAZA MANCHESTER AIRPORT HOTEL -

The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel has unveiled the 2nd phase in a large multi-million pound refurbishment project, now featuring the return of the popular standalone Pan-Asian ‘Sampans’ restaurant and a new Club Lounge.

Flying high after the 1st phase refurbishment earlier this year which featured a new Open Lobby public space and 299 upgraded bedrooms, the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport has now unveiled new leisure facilities. Sampans restaurant is returning after a full refurbishment to offer guests a wide range of popular Pan-Asian dishes ranging from Dim Sum, a variety of curries plus noodle and rice dishes to desserts such as the Malaysian Kuih Dar Dar. Open from Wednesday to Sundays, from 6pm to 10pm, the setting is modern and calming for weary travellers.

The new Club Lounge is open to IHG Rewards Diamond Elite members, who have instant access, and any adult guest staying at the hotel who wishes to upgrade, subject to availability. Club Lounge guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. Alcoholic drinks are served between 6-8pm along with the chefs’ choice of canapes. Club Lounge members will find the space stylish and peaceful with a range of comfortable seating options and live travel information.

General Manager for the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel, Matt Byram commented: “We are delighted to unveil the second phase of our huge refurbishment project. Since reopening the hotel at the beginning of the year the public response has been incredibly positive of the modernisation work so far, so we are pleased to keep adding services and facilities we know our guests will love. Sampans is back, and better than ever, by popular demand as once voted a favourite restaurant in Manchester on TripAdvisor, and the Club Lounge offers an elite experience to our business and travel guests”.

The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel is ideally located next to all 3 Terminals and to note Terminal 2 (where the Airport train station is based), is just a 10-minute walk away. Additional facilities at the hotel include a 24hour Fitness Centre and 8 versatile meeting rooms with

a dedicated on-site co-ordinator. Guests can host meetings or events for 2 to 70 people and enjoy use of the Business Centre.

Strategic management

- BIOLOGICAL PREPARATIONS -

Great hospitality businesses create memorable experiences, turning firsttime guests into loyal patrons who encourage new visitors. This requires strategic management; balancing guest needs, maintaining luxurious spaces, and addressing challenges like tight budgets, staffing shortages, and operational efficiencies. With green consumerism increasing — 7/10 restaurant-goers and 78% of global travellers prioritising eco-friendly options — highlights sustainability’s growing importance. Balancing these elements is vital for the modern guest experience but complicated without the right partner.

The Modern Solution

Traditional, petrochemical-based cleaning products forces businesses to compromise sustainability and health goals for cleanliness. Older Ecotech solutions often had poor formulations, penalising businesses with eco-premiums for lower efficiency.

reduce risk, enhancing staff safety and making product training and compliance easier. Additionally, their reliable UK supply chain offers peace of mind despite societal challenges.

BioHygiene’s next-generation Biotech cleaning products offer sustainable solutions without compromises. Since 2016, they’ve assisted over 10,000 UK businesses in operations, sustainability, and costs.

Enhancing Guest Experiences

Truly clean spaces enhance customer satisfaction and encourage return visits. Yet, traditional chemicals mask odours, demand more labour, and leave sticky residues that can mislead guests about cleanliness. BioHygiene utilises synergistic Biotech/Ecotec to tackle dirt, grime, and grease. These solutions elevate cleanliness while reducing cleaning intensity for high-traffic areas by removing organic matter and odours at the source, protecting surfaces with a natural biofilm, leaving no sticky residues—achieving the best cleanliness experience.

Improving Value

BioHygiene’s core products cover 80% of cleaning needs, simplifying stock management and streamlining operations. The residual cleaning effects reduce cleaning time, enhancing productivityfreeing up resources to enhance the guest experience. Efficient with cold water and no-rinse formulas, these products help cut utility costs. Addressing high staff turnover, BioHygiene’s low-hazardous formulas

Reducing Waste and Enviromental Impact

BioHygiene’s sustainable ingredients reduce overall environmental impact from cutting CO2e from their technology to reducing aquatic toxicity. High-concentration formulas cut CO2 emissions in transport and significantly reduce plastic waste with less packaging - these products help businesses meet environmental goals.

Safe Spaces and Protected People

Traditional products harm the health and safety of users, causing headaches, allergic reactions, and respiratory issues equivalent to smoking 20 cigarettes a day. They also release VOCs, major contributors to indoor air pollution, which can trigger health effects for guests, and can have long-term health implications on staff. BioHygiene’s blend of Biotech/ Ecotech ingredients ensures a safer environment. The formulas, once diluted, are non-hazardous, showing a business’s commitment to all levels of health and safety for staff and guests.

Quality Cleaning Performance

Bacteria are natures own cleaners. They produce specific enzymes that break down specific types of waste. By including the right bacteria to target the job in hand, biotech products ensure ultra-targeted and superior cleaning results.

Deep Cleaning Action

Bacteria form biofilms which penetrate and spread into areas traditional technology can’t reach. This process provides a deep-down cleaning effect, degrading organic residues left behind after cleaning and eliminating any level of odour or stain.

Residual Cleaning

Once organic residues have been removed, bacteria lay dormant in biofilms until a new food source is introduced. This provides a long-lasting residual cleaning action, making subsequent cleaning easier and less intensive.

Improved Odour Control

Biotechnology offers three methods for odour control: trapping, neutralising, and degrading odour molecules to eliminate bad smells at the source and ensure long-lasting odour control.

Cost, Transport & Storage Savings

Biotech Reasons to Switch to 9 CO

Reduced CO2e

With higher dilution than traditional chemicals, biotech products can achieve a more efficient clean with less product, leading to savings in costs, transportation, and storage. Just 1 x 5L can of All Surface and Floor Cleaner can make 1250 trigger bottles!

Plastic Savings

Over 90% of plastics originate from unrenewable oil, natural gas, and coal. For every 1kg of virgin plastic, 6 kgs of CO2e is released into the atmosphere1

PCR plastic offers up to an 85% reduction in CO2e thanks to its closed-loop system and energyefficient production, whilst high dilution rates mean less products and resulting waste.

3 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6726387/

Many traditional cleaning products have petrochemicalderived ingredients, resulting in a large CO2 and toxicity footprint. Biotech-based products are formulated from renewable and sustainability-sourced ingredients with lower toxicity levels and offer a 75-100% carbon reduction!

Fewer Deliveries

Domestic transport accounts for 29% of total GHG emissions in the UK2. By using high dilutions, less product is needed for cleaning, leading to longer intervals between orders and fewer deliveries. Opting for locally sourced suppliers also plays a crucial role in reducing Scope 3 emissions.

Reduced Toxicity

A recent study showed that using bleach-based cleaning products over 20 years had the same lung effects as smoking 20 cigarettes a day3. BioHygiene uses sustainability sourced ingredients with minimal hazardous classifications, making them kinder to users and our aquatic ecosystems.

Story Living

- MKV DESIGN -

Maria Vafiadis is one of the most highly regarded designers of luxury hotels and resorts. She established her practice, MKV Design, in London 25 years ago and has since led the design of such seminal resorts as Costa Navarino in Greece and Bürgenstock in Switzerland as well as a swathe of hotels and residences in capital cities and coastal locations across Europe.

For some time, the buzzword in luxury hotel design has been ‘storytelling’. An antidote to hotels that were largely indistinguishable from one another, the notion is to design hotels with a narrative that draws on sense of place, its history, culture and neighbourhood vibe, to create a hotel different from others.

“For me, as a designer who loves the research and concept creation phase of projects, this is an enriching approach,” says Maria. “It also encourages collaborations with local artists and craftspeople as well as the use of indigenous materials, which helps local communities as well as the environment.”

Meanwhile, the way we tend to live our lives has been changing – the blurring of business and leisure, desire for the experiential and a higher value than ever given to luxury travel coupled with a reinterpretation of

what luxury is that favours a more residential and informal aesthetic. “I have always believed that the greatest gift hotels can bestow is the luxury of time and now I see storytelling moving into story living, from an imposed narrative into something that gives a tangible experience. This may be making plans with loved ones, undertaking adrenaline-fuelled challenges, or listening to the wash of sea waves from your spa garden. Whatever your choice, it’s about time spent well and to the full,” says Maria.

MKV’s portfolio includes many story living examples. Take, for instance, Bürgenstock Hotel and the Grand Residences Suites, both of which the practice designed as part of its total revitalisation of the entire Bürgenstock Resort. The experience of the hotel is that of being a bird in flight hovering above the sheer drop to the valley and Lake Lucerne below. The scenery is everything and the interior design is held in check to allow the natural world to be the star. Materials were selected to achieve a sense of uninterrupted transition from the view outside to indoors and include stone from the mountains, timber from the forests, bronze resembling the light of late afternoon and deeply veined green marble. The Grand Residences offer an alternative – the Swiss grand hotel tradition transposed into residential living with interiors graced by fine silk fabrics, crafted saddle leather and works of art by international artists.

MKV has also transformed a dilapidated palace building in Budapest into one of Europe’s grandest hotels - Matild Palace, A Luxury Collection Hotel. In a city synonymous with the tradition of bathing, l guests can live the story in their guestroom bathrooms, soaking in a customdesigned tub or under a rain shower surrounded by turquoise glass mosaic interleaved with gold – a nod to Budapest’s famous Gellert Baths – combined with richly veined marble and classic bronze fittings.

Story living is not always a private affair, however. As anyone who has spent time in Greece knows, the gathering outside of friends, families and neighbours to eat, drink and converse is the very essence of the Grecian experience. Two years ago, MKV completed W Costa Navarino. The team fragmented the conventional all-day dining room into four outlets, all of which open onto the Platia in a playful interpretation of the Greek village square. Each venue is consciously designed not to feel like a hotel restaurant but rather as a place that belongs to the village with their own interior

aesthetic and a seamless indoor/outdoor connection. In the Platia, hotel guests and local neighbours can sit wherever they wish and partake in whatever cuisine they desire at that moment in time. In true Greek style, they can re-arrange the seating for friends who happen to pass by, shelter from the afternoon sun under pergolas and find niches for candle-lit suppers at night.

This too is living the moment to its full, but for guests who want social engagement. “If luxury equates to the chance to live the story as you want to, when you want to, it follows that the great hospitality destinations should be diverse, from those on the public stage through to clubs where members can surround themselves with a like-minded community,” Maria explains. “For younger people, in particular, social media has infiltrated the world of luxury in a way that the paparazzi of old never could with the result that luxury hospitality is seen as more accessible than it was. However, the very noise of modern-day living means that there is still very much a place for withdrawing into a luxury that whispers.”

A new MKV-designed villa at Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort, is just such a place. The resort is sunken into

a hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea and is prized for its sunset views. The 945-sqm villa is the ultimate retreat with four bedrooms, lounge, dining & kitchen and a gym. Above this, a magnificent rooftop terrace with pool, lounging, dining and a choice of sitting areas combine to create a collection of outdoor experiences where guests can feel they are living in their own dreamscape.

Chalet Il Gufo -

BETTIOL ARCHITECTURE -

The works of the Chalet Il Gufo, a project by Bettiol Architecture of Aosta City and realized by the Interior contractor Concreta, have recently been completed. The result is a luxurious chalet located in the famous and refined mountain resort of Cervinia.

With a purely international clientele, Bettiol Architecture studio specializes in architecture services, consulting, creative direction, and technical direction for luxury projects, focusing on buildings dedicated to hospitality, exclusive villas, and chalets.

The Chalet Il Gufo is a completely new structure born from the will of the client, synonymous with refinement and elegance in the quality of the materials used, for a higher level of comfort. The client’s vision was to establish an accommodation facility that created the feeling of being in a private residence and could at the same time be functional to accommodate guests with entertainment areas, such as the gaming room and relax areas, the spa and the swimming pool.

STRUCTURE AND ROOMS

The Chalet spread over four levels including the basement; here we find the indoor pool area with the SPA complete with an emotional shower and a Turkish bath. This space is separated from the other rooms by a glass door. In the basement there is also the gaming room, with bar area and bathroom, cinema area and ski room for ski storage, with direct access from the ski slope SKI-IN SKI-OUT, which is characterized by the presence of full-wall cabinets and a carbon grey wooden bench located in the center of the room. A special feature of the gaming room is the presence of a hidden door, designed to resemble an old advertising poster. In front of the SPA, an outdoor terrace welcomes an additional lounge area next to the ski slope overlooking Cervino where there is a hot tub and a relax area with a brazier.

The ground floor houses the convivial rooms and communicates with an outdoor area where there is a sitting area to enjoy the beauty of the stream that runs parallel to the property and the forest that surrounds it. Guests are welcomed from the entrance of the Chalet in a warm environment with a cozy atmosphere. Every detail is meticulously looked after, from the choice of furniture, to furnishing accessories and finishes, custom designed to enhance the wellbeing of the user.

The project entrusted to Concreta involved the company in all the stages of construction of the Chalet with custom-made elements.

The Chalet Il Gufo is characterized by its unique style, partly Nordic, which is expressed with shades of gray and shades of dark colors.

While natural wood remains a primary material used in its classic form tipically found in the mountain private residences, it has been processed and treated to achieve certain colors.

The floors and stairs are made of oak with smoked finish, while the coverings of beams and part of the furniture are made of fire wood, with a specific finish called carbon grey.

The living area is divided in a dining area and a lounge space. The special feature of the living room is the centrality of the fireplace that creates a mood and makes the environment warm and welcoming. The dining area is dominated by a table enhanced by a suspended lighting system that combines functionality, lighting the environment, with aesthetics, in a decorative vision.

The kitchen boasts a prominent central element – an intricately designed island. The wall units are made with an ad hoc lacquering, while the walls are covered with decorative tiles that recall the old Italian style.

On the first floor of the chalet there are four rooms for guests of the structure and a mezzanine open to the living room below. This last one is used as a lounge area, where the bar is the protagonist accompanied by a seating area with wooden chairs and tables. A glass parapet illuminates the mezzanine and allows you to look at the living area below.

The guest rooms include 4 double rooms with private bathroom including two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. One of the characteristics of this work, by the will of the property, is that each room is completely different from each other in terms of layout, materials and sensations it transmits.

The top floor houses the master bedroom and the children’s room. Upon arriving on the landing, you are in front of an alcove, carved into a wooden niche, in front of a window that allows not only to illuminate the floor, but to enjoy the external view of the Cervino that characterizes the structure.

Also, on this floor the rooms are all unique, studied in detail, embellished by the exposed wooden attic that offers a unique height.

The mix of wall coverings are characteristic of the master bedroom, where wood frames the imposing head bed wall covered with a full height padding that

makes the environment special and unique. Inside there is also a walk-in closet that communicates through a frosted glass with the master bathroom, which also provides natural light in this area, and the private bathroom with classic and retro notes, where there are both a bathtub and a shower.

The children’s room has been designed to be multidimensional in the name of leisure. In addition to the bunk beds you can play on a climbing wall and get to the “den”, a secret mezzanine above the entrance to the room.

The Chalet Il Gufo is the result of a work in synergy between the design phase of Bettiol Architecture Studio and the realization of the interior contractor Concreta that has guaranteed the construction of the luxurious Chalet of Cervinia, providing a reading key capable of responding to the Client’s requests and expectations.

Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta

-

EGIDIO PANZERA ARCHITECT -

The Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta, built in 1873, stands in an area that has an ancient history and an equally ancient vocation for hospitality. A history that began in the 14th century with the Hospitium Magnum, a private hotel with stabling, which then became the Osteria del Dazio, then the Locanda Grande, up to the more recent Hotel Vanoli and, finally, today’s Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta. Illustrious guests, famous personalities and nobles of the highest rank stayed in its rooms in the 17th century: Archduchess Maria Magdalena of Austria, bride of Cosimo de’ Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany (1608), the infanta Maria of Spain, bride of Ferdinand I (1631), Federico Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua (1662) and Admiral Orazio Nelson, Lady Hamilton, Queen Maria Carolina of Naples, the archaeologist Giovanni Gioacchino Winckelmann,

Emperors Joseph II and Leopold II, Giacomo Casanova, Carlo Goldoni, Joachim Murat and Prince Bernadotte.

Its current appearance, with its eclectic-style façade decorated with Corinthian pilasters and floral friezes, is the result of a reconstruction project by engineers Eugenio Geiringer and Giovanni Righetti. The hotel’s façade and interior redevelopment project, by Egidio Panzera Architect, was the result of a careful historical/architectural study.

The location in the centre of Trieste, on one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, and perhaps the largest overlooking the sea, required an analysis of the context and the city in many respects. Trieste is a frontier city, Mitteleuropean, hiding in a somewhat dreamy light an energy stemming from strong contrasts and diversity: located by the sea, but protected by a plateau, it is a melting pot of different cultures and religions. A complexity that has always fuelled a desire for knowledge and creativity. “Trieste has a surly grace” Saba wrote of his city, while Schiele describes it by painting its reflection in the sea, that reflection that breaks the image, fragments it, mixes the colours and returns the complexity of Trieste.

Complexity, contrasts and reflections inspired the design of the Grand Hotel Duchi D’Aosta, as did the phrase of Giuseppe Cipriani, founder with his son

of Harry’s Bar inside the hotel. He said of the art of hospitality: “...the first secret of hospitality is complex simplicity. A simplicity sought in everything from the dishes to the décor, to the welcoming of guests that goes hand in hand with the complexity of the details...” And around the Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta gravitate simple excellences that together give a complex, rich response:

-Harry’s Piccolo restaurant with Chefs Matteo Metullio and Davide De Pra, two Michelin stars, already the subject of an interior design intervention by arch. Egidio Panzera; -Harry’s Pastry Shop;

-Harry’s Bar, already the subject of an interior design intervention by architect Egidio Panzera.

The project by Egidio Panzera Architect

The restyling project for the Dukes takes shape from the desire to maintain the heritage of the place, a surgical project that does not, however, deprive itself of introducing contemporary interpretations, design nuances that place the spaces between the past and the present. The intention was to emphasise the historical importance of its spaces through the choice of colours and materials that would reinforce its elitist nature, its identity, whose maximum splendour was reached during the Habsburg domination. Typical of Habsburg interiors, green, red and blue

are the colours selected to be the background and palette of the new hall. Local materials and ancient techniques, such as the use of Venetian brocatelle weaving, the Rosso Verona and Fior di Pesco Carnico marble, and the hand-decoration of the wooden parts, characterise the spaces in the hall, the side rooms and the staircase.

Stepping through the wooden doors of the original entrance hall, one is greeted by a ‘theatrical’ space: a sumptuous chandelier in precious Venetian crystal with aquamarine hues is the main actor, while an iridescent carpet, matching the glass pastorals, recalls the ripples and colours of the Trieste sea. In search of a new symmetry, the design redefines the geometry of the perimeter columns, clad with inlaid Rosso Verona marble like the pilasters of the building’s façade, which are placed on the original walnut parquet floor by means of brass joints. In the background of the lobby stands the historic wooden bar, a legacy of the Ciga management, restored to its former glory with a baked glass top with golden and bronze reflections, the same flickering reflections of Trieste’s lights on the sea.

Particular attention was given to the lighting design, which was supervised by lighting designer Bianca Tresoldi. Lighting tends to emphasise the forms of architecture and materials with extreme refinement, also analysing the physiological and psychological effects of light, without neglecting its main function of enabling vision. By shaping brilliance, color, and intensity, the lighting designer designed a light that would immerse guests in the architectural-historical space while trying to give them a unique experience that tells the story of the place. The entire lighting system is managed by a control system that allows the lighting atmosphere to vary according to precise times of the day.

To the sides, the lobby opens into two symmetrical rooms. On the right is the exclusive Svevo room, embellished with a red brocatelle from the historic Venetian weaving mill Bevilacqua that covers the walls and ceiling with a soft veil. A carpet with golden reflections dictates the position of precious furnishing elements, which create a small conversation room, enriched by the brass bookcase made to measure and arranged in the niche of the room. To the left of the hall is the Club dei Club, a room used by the starred restaurant, its walls covered with green brocatelle. The guest’s/spectator’s gaze is stolen and entertained by the “ballerinas”, custom-designed tables that seem to hover in space thanks to the soft light shining through the tulle that underlies the top and wraps around the central leg. The space is pervaded by a background sensuality.

One of the objectives of the project was to open up the life of the hotel to the city. The entrance is defined on the sides by two wooden showcases, one will tell of the excellence of the Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta’s offer, the other showcase will tell the life of Trieste and its events. The staircase of the building has been transformed into an unconventional art gallery. Taking advantage of the half-floor offset between the body of the building facing Piazza Unità d’Italia and the body at the rear, an exhibition route has thus been created around the lift body and on the floor landings.

The intervention on the staircase body has maintained the original restored wooden steps, enriching the landings with satin treads that serve as a backdrop for the artworks that temporary exhibitions will

host in what becomes the Harry’s Art gallery. The lift body, on the other hand, is clad in local marble, Fior di Pesco Carnico, whose nuances and textures match the brasses of the lift shafts and the colours of the satins. Finally, the aquamarine-coloured glass chandeliers, as in the Hall, are the protagonists of a newfound elegance.

The design of the new rooms, subdivided into two concepts, starts from the assumption that the connotative elements of the city of Trieste are told within them: complexity, contrast and reflection.

The first concept envisages the insertion within the heritage of the pre-existing space of each room of a contemporary casket; a volume, enclosing the walk-in wardrobe and bathroom, circumscribed by thin vertical and horizontal reflecting surfaces. This treasure chest is dressed in noble materials such as Rubelli’s damask weaves, fibreglass wallpapers and floor mosaics. The walls of the room, on the other hand, are punctuated by plaster cornices and accompany the materiality of the materials present, the bed fabrics, the upholstery and the Dedar satin curtains in the colour tones. The light in the bedrooms is designed in such a way as to compose three lighting scenes: welcome light, night light and relaxation light to make the guest feel at ease. The design, also by Bianca Tresoldi, includes indirect lighting of the marmorino ceilings, accent lighting emphasising the paintings on the walls, luminous signs around the furniture and transparent blown glass pendants.

The second concept interprets complexity by creating a reception and service space that is contrasting and separate from the sleeping space. A secret door, concealed between the room’s plaster frames, divides the two spaces. Upon entering, one is greeted by a contemporary space with precious material surfaces:

dark wood ceiling, Venetian flooring, cement resins and above all a wall of marble (Fior di Pesco Carnico, Port Laurent and Palissandro). An OmniDecor glass diaphragm decorated by acid etching divides the entrance-cabin area from the bathroom, while the walk-in wardrobe, created in a niche, picks up on the acid tones of the marble veins.

All the materials are reflected in a large round mirror hung to the marble wall above the washbasin. Entering the sleeping area, one is greeted by a space with classical tones: the plaster frames enclose marble walls, the solid-coloured carpet with iridescent reflections matches the satin curtains. The bed is protected by a large upholstered headboard made to measure with tilting wings that embrace it. Two Catellani&Smith lamps on the walls warm the wall surfaces with their golden tones, and precious restored antique furniture occupies the space underlying the historical importance of the place.

Lift consultancy & design for stadium MK

- IKONIC LIFTS -

Our Client

In addition to the 304-room DoubleTree by Hilton Milton Keynes hotel, the Stadium MK is also home to the 3,420m2 Marshall Arena, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, as well as MK Dons Sport & Education Trust. As a result, the stadium must be accessible via lifts from the street level, as well as the lower and upper concourses.

Ikonic was approached with the understanding that we would be able to offer a bespoke solution, tailored to fit the unusual architectural requirements. In the stadium expansion program, we were invited to tender for the supply and installation of Two 1000 kg 13-person passenger lifts serving 4 floors.

iKONIC Challenge

Passenger lifts placed in service after 31 August 2017 must comply with EN20/50. In 1998, the old standards EN81-1 and EN81-2 were introduced and are no longer applicable.

As a result, the lifts supplied in the stadium were built to the new EN81-20/50 standard, which was the first to be installed in the country.

A number of aspects had to be considered to be fully compliant with these new standards, including the building requirements and shaft design.

Throughout the process, Ikonic ensured every component adhered to stringent quality control and was certified to all applicable standards.

The stadium, hotel, and events spaces have a total of 13 lifts. Our service team faced some early teething problems, mainly software-related, but by working with the client and our trustworthy suppliers, the team was able to solve a number of technical issues.

iKONIC Solution

Due to the failure of the original lifts, our design brief from the client included supplying a robust open protocol lift package. In order to achieve this, we have designed a package consisting of a New Lift FST-3controller with remote monitoring, ZiehlAbegg motor and drive, Dewhurst multimedia screens, Meiller door package, and Inauxa metalwork.

Having this issue resolved so quickly and efficiently greatly enhanced the client’s trust in Ikonic and the equipment supplied. In order to maintain our

schedule, we dealt with any challenges that came our way quickly, without cutting corners, assuring that all lifts were safe and luxurious.

Since the building has a large capacity, the lifts were required to accommodate a large number of people. The dimensions were carefully considered in order to maximize space efficiency and make sure customers have a seamless experience in the stadium on busy days.

We conducted rigorous testing and quality checks to ensure compliance with BS EN 81-20/50, BS EN 81-73, and BS EN 81-58. Our clients’ trust was increased due to timely testing and handover.

iKONIC Results

These results demonstrate that we can offer solutions for existing buildings whose space and environmental constraints are unique.

Our team received praise from the client for their responsiveness and continued support after installation. Clients’ queries and concerns were promptly addressed, enhancing their confidence in our commitment to their satisfaction.

Among the key factors that contributed to the client’s satisfaction was the lift’s impact on accessibility. In addition to providing ease of movement for guests, employees, and patrons alike, the installation has facilitated a more inclusive atmosphere.

With the advanced control systems (New Lift FST3 controllers with remote monitoring, ZiehlAbegg motors and drives, Dewhurst multimedia screens and controls, Meiller door package, and Inauxa metalwork), safety features, and emergency response mechanisms, the lift has improved not just its performance, but also added a sense of security and confidence.

In conclusion, we are proud of the client’s enthusiastic response to our lift installation, which fully demonstrates our commitment to quality and clientcentric approach. In addition to the lift installation, the success of this project reflects our broader commitment to delivering solutions that exceed expectations.

Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa unveils impressive refurbishment featuring stunning new Moët & Chandon champagne bar

Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa has invested over £1million in a recent refurbishment, significantly enhancing several of its facilities.

The project, which began in autumn 2023 and is now complete, aims to elevate the guest experience and solidify Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa’s reputation as a premier resort for corporate and leisure guests.

Situated in Cheshire and renowned for its historic grandeur, Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa seamlessly blends 17th-century opulence with a contemporary experience. With its striking exterior, stained glass windows and historic feature rooms, the resort includes an original Grade I listed mansion alongside a modern wing housing a restaurant and bar, event spaces, and a health club with spa.

The most impressive element of the refurbishment is the introduction of “The Sheridan Bar,” a stunning new Moët & Chandon Champagne and cocktail bar.

Adorned with a new reception, waiter station, and back bar featuring marble and brass accents designed by Fusion by Design, The Sheridan is set to become a sought-after destination for couples and groups in the area, and hotel guests visiting from all over the UK.

Named after playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan, a friend of the first Lord Crewe and his wife Frances, the bar celebrates this historical connection while offering a chic, modern ambience.

The investment also includes a complete overhaul of the guest bedrooms in the modern wing, enhancing both comfort and aesthetics. Guests will now enjoy a refreshed look and feel with the addition of new deluxe rooms featuring double sofa beds, ideal for families, group stays and friends’ pamper evenings.

In the mansion building, extensive updates have been made to the state banqueting rooms, including new carpeting, redecoration of The Old Hall, and meticulous restoration of the beautiful Long Gallery overlooking the back of the hotel. These spaces are perfect for weddings, conferences, meetings and special events. The banqueting bar now features designer-led carpeting that complements the

historic oak stairs, and the lounge, renowned for its traditional afternoon tea, boasts brand-new furniture, significantly enhancing the space.

David Rowley, General Manager of Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa, commented: “With the extensive refurbishment now complete, we are excited to present the enhanced offerings at Crewe Hall. The Moët & Chandon Champagne bar, along with upgraded bedrooms and revitalised event spaces, represents our commitment to providing top-tier hospitality. For a brand that has perfected the art of luxury hospitality, travellers should look no further than the brand-new Ritz-Carlton Amman, setting the standard in elegance as a unique Middle Eastern destination for leisure and business guests. Home to over 200 guest rooms, a spa, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and a wide range of dining venues, the Ritz-Carlton Amman Hotel offers guests unrivalled luxury.

Residents can enjoy luxury from the sanctuary of their private homes, with access to all the tower’s amenities, including a cinema, gaming room, indoor pool and fitness centre, and beauty salon.

The design of the two towers infuses the modern elegance of cosmopolitan Amman with inspiration from Jordan’s culture and design, adding a stunning addition to the backdrop of the city’s skyline and offering stunning scenic views of Amman.

The aim of the lighting design was to enhance the elegant interiors with sleek and sophisticated luminaires. Lighting designers MBLD specified Lucent Lighting’s premium solutions for the hotel and Residences, using a variety of fixtures including downlights, inground lights and wall lights throughout guest rooms, public spaces and F&B areas.

Guest rooms are complete with crisp white interiors, with discreet downlights subtly illuminating the walls and decadent décor for a clean overall finish. Opulent marble bathrooms are backlit with fresh white lighting for a rejuvenating experience.

Decadent dining is set with a warm glow to introduce an intimate ambience for diners overlooking the city lights. Sophisticated lighting layers the darker wooden décor and plush seating of the meeting and lounge rooms, while the bar is backlit with gold to illuminate the dazzling display of bottles.

Lucent MiniTRIM downlights enhance the elegance of The Residences, oozing luxury and opulence for residents of these premium homes. The lighting acts as a key part of the overall design, blending seamlessly into the interiors while the effect it creates can be seen. The layers of thoughtful lighting bring to life colours and textures, spotlighting patterned tiles and enriching the plush materials of the décor.

Rob Honeywill, Design Director at MBLD said: “Lucent Lighting’s range of luminaires perfectly complemented the lighting design we created to illuminate the extravagant interior design of the hotel and Residences. Each luminaire blended seamlessly into the overall design while meeting the distinct atmosphere and requirements for each space. The premium lighting solutions perfectly matched the aesthetic of this prestigious project, enhancing the guest experience and providing the quality expected by the Ritz-Carlton.”

Naturally designed floor

Karta are specialists in sustainable flooring, committed to bidding farewell to plastics and redefining the future of flooring.

Their mission is clear: to transform waste into worth with their innovative Recycled Leather Flooring Series. By repurposing offcuts from the shoe industry, Karta turns discarded materials into stunning and sustainable floors, not only reducing landfill waste but also contributing to a circular economy. This new series perfectly bridges the gap between sustainability and design, offering the ideal flooring solution for any space from residential to commercial, hotels, restaurants, and retail.

This revolutionary new collection uses reclaimed scrap leather previously destined for landfill, alongside 100% natural resins, PEFC-certified wood fibres, and a durable cork backing which removes the need for added underlay. Using biodegradable ink and unique advanced technology, hyper-realistic scans of real wood floors are printed onto the leather layer, perfectly replicating the originals’ natural beauty. Each board is finished with a coating of Karta Plated®, a durable, specially-developed AC5-rated barrier solution, which delivers a super-matte finish as well as guaranteeing a 10 year warranty.

The result is a reproduction floor with unparalleled authenticity, and with no repeated designs in 20 boards, Karta’s floors are virtually indistinguishable from the original product.

Karta is part of the Ted Todd family, flooring specialists with over thirty years’ expertise in the industry. With this new collection, Karta provides a responsible alternative to single-use plastic vinyl and LVT flooring, delivering low VOC emissions and completely SVOCfree floors. Karta’s new flooring series is also easy to lay, featuring click-system edges and requiring no additional adhesive or underlay, reducing installation costs.

It’s never been more accessible to make a commitment to sustainable design.

Available in 18 stunning colours drawn from highdefinition scans of Ted Todd’s floors, this new series offers wide planks measuring 1850mm x 200mm x 9mm, beautifully replicating the original natural French oak, old brown English oak, and reclaimed oak boards.

Commenting on the Recycled Leather Series, founder Robert Walsh said, “Our new series not only showcases Karta’s commitment to sustainability but also introduces innovative design elements that offer unique, sustainable flooring solutions at an affordable price point. Karta provides a budgetfriendly alternative to traditional wood flooring while captivating customers interested in LVT flooring. Bjelin brings two important product innovations to The Flooring Show

- BJELIN -

STAND: Q86

Bjelin’s product range comprises the next generation of highly innovative hardened wood floors. It includes Woodura® - a patented surface technology giving outstanding durability, while also being highly sustainable. Bjelin’s floors feature advanced click technology, developed by sister company Välinge Innovation, comprising 5G and 5G Dry®, the durable leakproof solution with a watertight joint.

The company is showcasing two important product innovations within its revolutionary hardened wood flooring portfolio at this year’s Flooring Show.

The first is the Contrast Collection, which enjoyed a highly positive debut at Clerkenwell Design Week. The Collection leverages the existing hues and tones of natural wood to create stunning contrasts, while also blending with the existing Woodura Planks 3.0. It is made from Spačva oak and is available in the XL size. This type of oak, which is sustainably sourced from Croatia with FSC® certification, is renowned for its stunning beauty and distinctive grain.

This vibrant new range was created through the fusion of technology and ageless craftsmanship and is ideal for heavy-traffic commercial environments. Woodura surface technology makes hardened wood floors three times stronger than traditional engineered wood options, giving enhanced resistance to water and dents.

“This striking collection gives commercial users a new and exciting option,” says Simon Darbyshire, Managing Director of Välinge Innovation UK Ltd. “The Contrast range redefines the game in residential and commercial design, injecting a sleek, tech-savvy edge that screams innovation.”

Bjelin is also introducing a durable herringbone floor, offering a modern take on a timeless classic. Woodura Herringbone 2.0 will be seen for the first time at the Flooring Show. It showcases larger panels, delivering three times the strength of traditional wood options, and is effortlessly installed with click technology.

“With Woodura Herringbone 2.0 we are bringing our commitment to innovation and creativity to the popular herringbone design aesthetic,” says Simon Darbyshire. “So this new range offers all the practical benefits of Woodura, including durability and impact resistance, combined with the traditional elegance and contemporary appeal of herringbone.”

At 91 mm x 546 mm, these panels surpass traditional parquet herringbone sizes, offering a modern feel. Versatile and creative, this flooring can be installed in multiple patterns, from traditional herringbone, double, triple, ladder and blocks. It is available in a clean Select grading with a tough pro matt lacquer surface treatment for easy maintenance and enduring beauty.

Appetite integrates with OpenTable to enable reservations

- OPENTABLE -

The UK-based ‘social-led’ restaurant discovery app Appetite has partnered with restaurant reservation and discovery platform OpenTable to integrate its booking technology - allowing Appetite users to complete their restaurant reservations journey in one place.

With the help of OpenTable, Appetite will now be able to give its users the option to make restaurant reservations based on availability, location, and time - with bookings taking a matter of seconds at the point of discovery.

This is in addition to Appetite’s existing offering which allows users to discover new restaurants, filtering places by cuisine, vibe and location, as well as tracking the places they’ve been to or want to go to.

By combining Appetite’s strengths of socialled word-of-mouth discovery with the power of OpenTable’s restaurant portfolio and bookings tool, both businesses continue their joint mission to help consumers discover and plan personalised dining experiences.

The partnership highlights OpenTable’s interest in supporting innovative UK-based startups that are challenging the status quo within the restaurant and hospitality industry. Crucially it will create a simpler and more enjoyable experience for Appetite app users - whilst also connecting restaurants with new audiences.

Toby and James Green, co-founders of Appetite said: “The partnership with OpenTable will supercharge our mission of combining social-led word of mouth discovery with bookings - making eating out an easy

and enjoyable experience. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and cements the success of our first year. We’re incredibly excited about our partnership with OpenTable.”

“Appetite is among the UK’s industry start ups that are catching our attention for their beautiful visuals and engaging content,” said Laure Bornet, Vice President of International Growth at OpenTable. “Appetite has cultivated a hyper-engaged community of diners that we’re excited to treat to a seamless reservation booking experience.”

CardsSafe for Restaurants

- CARDSSAFE -

CardsSafe Ltd. has been working with restaurants in the UK for over twenty years. The system allows staff to keep customer food and drink tabs securely and enables them to upsell in the process.

CardsSafe is also used by bars and restaurants to reduce and protect against dine-and-dash and credit card fraud and to reassure customers that their cards are being used securely and professionally.

Don’t Risk Dine-and-Dash

A recent study conducted on 2,000 adults in the UK stated that 1 in 20 have left a restaurant without paying in the past. Up to 25% of participants said they consider leaving without paying when it takes too long for the bill to arrive. The usual transaction process in the restaurant sector allows patrons to dine and settle their bill at the end of the meal. This offers customer convenience but leaves the venue open to the possibility of the customer running off without paying. This type of theft is known as dine and dash. Whilst it is a crime punishable by UK law, fighting for losses is often time-consuming and stressful and requires substantial evidence in the form of CCTV footage or eyewitnesses. This issue occurs in all types of restaurants, where unpaid food bills could cost hundreds and even thousands of pounds.

Just one *£120 walkout is the equivalent of one ten-card CardsSafe unit per year. With CardsSafe, the potential to prevent thousands of pounds of loss is significant.

To prevent dine-and-dash, staff simply retain the customer’s card on arrival and exchange it for a unique key. The future of EV charging in the UK’s hospitality industry

- RAW CHARGING -

The hospitality industry is at a crossroads. As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, the need for modern, efficient, and reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure has never been more apparent. Yet, many establishments within the industry are grappling with outdated and inadequate EV charging facilities, which are increasingly becoming a deterrent for potential guests. Furthermore, the latest public charge point regulations come into force in December 2024 that require chargers to have transparent pricing, 99% uptime and, in the case of rapid chargers, contactless payment.

According to a 2024 report by Charge, 82% of EV drivers actively seek hotels with reliable and userfriendly charging facilities, and 50% base their hotel choice on EV charging availability and customer reviews. Furthermore, a 2023 Deloitte report revealed that 63% of hoteliers believe EV charging will be a key part of their sustainability efforts in the next five years. Despite this, many hotels and hospitality venues are feeling the negative impact of poorly functioning EV chargers, with infrastructure that is simply not fit for purpose in 2024.

Similarly, a Channel 4 investigation found that over 5% of public EV chargers they examined were found to be non-functional. This amounts to approximately 1,352 out-of-service chargers, a significant number given the current reliance on public infrastructure and highlights the issue many EV drivers have.

The transition to EVs is accelerating, and with it comes the need for reliable, user-friendly charging infrastructure. This is particularly true in the hospitality industry, where the quality of the guest experience can be significantly influenced by the availability and reliability of EV charging facilities.

Many hospitality venues are grappling with outdated and inadequate EV charging infrastructure. This not only impacts the guest experience but can also lead to negative customer reviews, hidden energy costs, and operational headaches. Upgrading to modern, efficient charging solutions can alleviate these issues and enhance the overall guest experience.

The importance of destination charging in the hospitality industry cannot be overstated. Whether it’s the first or last interaction (or often both) a guest has with your property, the EV charging experience should be seamless and stress-free. This requires a deep understanding of the demands and challenges within the hospitality and leisure sectors, as well as the needs of EV drivers.

The choice of charging technology is also crucial. The best solutions offer safety, reliability, and the convenience of contactless debit/credit card payment options. They are designed to meet the demands of a busy hospitality venue and provide a high uptime to ensure stations are available when guests need them. This includes ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and replacements at no additional cost to the host venue.

In conclusion, it is imperative for destination venues to consider every facet of the guest experience, with particular emphasis on EV charging infrastructure. Having the right equipment and a reliable operator by your side can significantly enhance the guest experience. As the EV market continues to grow, those venues that prioritize high-quality EV charging infrastructure will be best positioned to meet the evolving needs of their guests.

Action foods partners up with The Smiling Cook

- ACTION FOODS -

Action Foods has joined forces with d’Lis Food to bring The Smiling Cook to the UK market. This successful European brand has over two decades of experience in the sector. It Is loved for its simple and tasty culinary solutions that consistently leave chefs delighted. The partnership with Action Foods developed naturally due to shared business values and strategies.

The range includes 25 ready-made sauces, crafted from a secret family recipe:

- Tomato-based (e.g., Arrabiata, Napolitana)

- Creamy (e.g., Four Cheese, Carbonara)

- Curry (e.g., Thai Curry)

- Culinary-focused (e.g., Peppercorn, Hollandaise, Mushroom)

- Bolognese variations, catering to different meat preferences

These sauces are freshly prepared, then pasteurized or sterilized, and sealed in 1kg microwavable doypacks for convenient storage and use. The packs can be heated in a microwave, steamer, or bain-marie, offering flexibility for any kitchen. The products have a shelf life of 12 to 18 months at room temperature, and up to three days refrigerated after opening.

The range also includes over 40 fresh frozen IQF pastas:

There is also a selection of freshly frozen IQF ready meals (Paella, Tabbouleh, Risotto, Mac & Cheese) inspired from international cuisines. Again, super quick to heat…delightful to eat!

The extensive selection not only allows chefs to get creative with their menu offerings but also helps meet consumer needs and dietary requirements. The range includes options for gluten-free, halal, vegan, and vegetarian diets where appropriate, ensuring flexibility and inclusivity.

- Short-cut (e.g., Macaroni, Penne, Fusilli)

- Long-cut (e.g., Noodles, Spaghetti, Tagliatelle)

- Portion packs (for a variety of Rice and Pastas)

Each pasta is cooked to ‘al dente’ perfection and ready to serve within seconds of heating. They can be prepared using a wok, microwave, steamer, or hot water, helping to reduce costs and resources. The IQF process allows for portion control, minimizing waste, and improving cost efficiency, with a frozen shelf life of 18 months.

This new range, along with the concept of fresh-frozen and readymade products, is one to take the culinary industry by storm. Many chefs today still believe in using dry pasta or freshly making it daily, which is a more traditional approach. The niche of fresh frozen and readymade products is untapped and with proper education and information on our offerings, this market can be transformational.

In the wake of Covid-19, many restaurants faced challenges in hiring skilled chefs. Our products address this issue by being simple and easy to prepare, enabling establishments without Michelinstar chefs to offer high-quality meals.

Action Foods continues to thrive with a strong product lineup, including our popular pizza topping range, Championi Toppings, and flavored Chicken Toppings, which gain popularity each year. Our frozen cooked poultry and Grumpy Pig cooked bacon products also remain in high demand.

We are excited to welcome new customers while continuing to serve our loyal ones. It’s fulfilling to see the positive impact our food solutions have on the operations and satisfaction of our clients.

Reaching a new wave of adventurous drinkers with innovative menu creation

- ROCKWATER -

Aoife Taylor, head of bars at Rockwater, comments on changing consumer behaviour

The CGA’s latest Mixed Drinks Report revealed that consumers are increasing their experimentation in cocktails, creating an opportunity for bars to work with lesser-known flavours.

Aoife Taylor, head of bars at Rockwater, shares her insights into how the fast-growing coastal hospitality brand is responding to consumer trends by continually innovating new cocktails. Additionally, Aoife comments on how a bar team can ensure its cocktail menu is suited to a more discerning consumer.

Understand what customers want from their drinking experience

“Consumer confidence to try and buy serves with unfamiliar flavours is incredibly freeing for a mixologist. Being creative in research and development is critical to delivering a drinks menu that continues to excite an experimental customer. However, inspired development must be complemented with a deep understanding of the target consumer.

“We track drink sales each week across both our Rockwater sites. This enables us to understand which cocktails are most popular and assess the flavour profiles and ingredients that perform the best. In doing so, we’ve been able to create more cocktails that are unique to Rockwater, in confidence they’ll appeal to our guests.”

Think beyond flavour profile

“Although consumers are broadening their flavour horizons, a discerning customer is now looking for more than just great taste in their cocktail. The construction of the drink; its depth and mouthfeel, are as important to the overall drinking experience as the flavour itself.

“Fat washing is a method we’ve been using a lot and is proving popular. Putting spirits through this process allows us to adapt the viscosity of a drink creating unique twists on customer favourites.

“For example, the key flavours in our ‘Pump Up The Jam’ cocktail are recognisable to anyone who enjoys a Negroni. We’ve adapted this classic to create a

distinctive drinking experience by adding sweet vanilla butter to our vermouth and gin, and infusing strawberry into Campari.

“Being innovative with what’s available to you in the bar is a great way to reduce waste too. For example, creating unique sugar syrups from left over champagne is another way I bring an edge to our drinks.”

Give love to your 0% options

“No-and-low-alcohol-options are becoming increasingly important to our customers. Alcohol free options are here to stay, and so it’s critical that the spirit of innovation carries over into the 0% menu.

“Customers still want to enjoy stand-out flavours, without the booze. We’ve worked hard to perfect our ‘Cherry Bomb’ mocktail to create a traditional sour experience without the alcohol. Consumers expect the same look, feel, and ultimately taste from a non-alcoholic cocktail.

Fresh Direct Stands Up for Vertical Farming

- FRESH DIRECT -

Fresh Direct, the UK’s leading provider of foodservice fresh produce, has partnered with a third British vertical farming business, GrowUp Farms, as it continues to support this innovative technology.

All Fresh Direct’s vertical farming partners are British and cover a wide range of herbs, salad and baby leaves, providing year-round access to these crops, helping address food security concerns and weatherrelated issues with harvests that have caused significant challenges for conventional growers over the past few years.

The latest supplier to partner with Fresh Direct is certified B Corp, GrowUp, which produces salad leaves at its modern vertical farm, designed to reduce its carbon emissions. The farm, which is powered by renewable energy from the bioenergy plant next to the facility, does not cause soil erosion, and produces long-lasting products year-round in the UK, which cuts down food waste and lorry miles. GrowUp also aims to use 90% less water when fully operational and, because the farm is a completely enclosed process, requires no pesticides, fungicides or weedkiller.

In addition, Fresh Direct’s development chefs rigorously tested the new products and found that, as well as the sustainability benefits, the produce significantly outperformed conventional leaves for quality and freshness.

Paul Nieduszynski, CEO at Sysco GB, said: “Vertical farming has made some fantastic strides forward in the past couple of years, and has become a much more practical solution, helping to support conventionally grown produce. We want to support British agriculture in all its forms and have been an early adopter of this technology, which gives us a year-round solution with enviable quality.

“Adding GrowUp to our portfolio of vertical growers gives our customers even greater access to high quality, locally grown produce with no concerns about the weather, seasonal changes or quality.”

- GLEBE FARM FOODS -

Glebe Farm Foods, the Cambridgeshire-based producer of the UK’s purest, gluten-free oats, puts the natural, nutrient-rich grain at the heart of everything it does. Its award-winning PureOaty brand of delicious porridge oats, cereals and oat drinks can be found across the hospitality industry – from British Airways’ long-haul flights to courtside refreshments at sports fixtures –and all come with an 100% gluten-free guarantee.

In the UK, it is now estimated that at least 10% of UK consumers are following a gluten-free diet . Some people look to promote gut health or combat bloating or a sensitive stomach, while an estimated 1 in 100 UK consumers have coeliac disease and must avoid gluten altogether.

PureOaty is the perfect partner for hospitality venues looking to offer gluten avoiders and those with other dietary requirements such as vegan or lactose intolerance peace of mind, with Glebe Farm’s delicious, pure, and completely gluten-free oat drink assuaging fears of undetected allergens.

The oats used in PureOaty products are as pure as they come. A test sample of each load is hand sifted to check for foreign grains and are milled to a purity of always under 1ppm, which is 20x less than the industry gluten-free standard. This provides 100% reliability on the R5 ELISA test of <5ppm limit of sensitivity. It’s therefore unsurprising that Glebe Farm Foods’ branded PureOaty range is market certified as safe to consume by Coeliac UK.

It is this incredibly clean standard that means customers of Glebe Farm find consumer complaints of cross contamination reactions – known as ‘gluting’ in the community – disappear. It is this crucial peace of mind offered to all stockists of PureOaty product that keeps people returning to their venues again and again.

Save time and resource, and improve hygiene

- TORK -

Satisfied guests who leave with a positive impression are more likely to return. For the hospitality industry it’s that simple. In addition to providing great service, creating a comfortable, clean environment is equally crucial.

Hospitality settings are multi-use, they are used for relaxing, socialising, working and eating. Because of their multiple use cases, they can also be tricky places to keep clean. But you don’t have to compromise between serving guests and keeping their spaces clean. Using industry-leading practices, and utilising the best hygiene solutions at your disposal, efficient cleaning creates more time for great service.

One challenge hotels face is the number of cleaning stations, washrooms and bedrooms that staff must maintain. Settings, in particular hotels, can be large and have hundreds of dispensers and stations dotted around their building. With this amount of stations, it’s no surprise that 71 per cent* of cleaners wish their systems were easier to refill. The new compressed Tork Xpress® multifold hand towels increase efficiency with compressed refills allowing the dispensers to hold up to 50 per cent more towels**, meaning they can serve twice the number of guests before refilling. In addition, compression reduces packaging by up to 27 per cent*** – meaning more towels can fit on a

shipment, and less packaging is thrown away. Once used, Tork Xpress Hand Towels can be recycled with Tork PaperCircle®, the world’s first paper hand towel recycling service – helping businesses to go circular by collecting and recycling used paper hand towels into new tissue products – and turning waste into resources.

Effective marketing, alongside effective hygiene

For hospitality settings that want to run special promotions, or improve the visibility of their drinks or food menus, disposable hygiene products can also offer an effective marketing tool. Tork Xpressnap is the only napkin dispenser that offers a digital DIY marketing tool that allows hospitality settings to create and share a special message with guests that they can share on social media.

Essity (makers of Tork products) understands that running hospitality settings, small and large, can be challenging, and that hygiene is central to success, but is one of many competing priorities. Our products are here to provide your setting with the appropriate tools to get the most out of your space and staff. Having a clean environment should never be a hindrance to the hive of activity that you offer; instead, it should improve efficiency and quality of service.

Festive hospitality: get your venue ready for Christmas

- ALLIANCE ONLINE -

As summer tries for one last final hoorah, we begin to start looking towards wrapping up warm and bracing ourselves for Autumn with Winter on the horizon. Whilst most are still advertising Halloween, we in the hospitality industry are very much planning for Christmas. With some venues already no doubt half booked up with festive parties throughout December, its important to start organising your Christmas theme.

What’s Vogue this Season?

The Classics

Obviously, it’d be remiss of us not to start with the classic colourways which dominate the festive period, we’ll start with the ever popular and present Gold, Red and Green. These tones always feature in venues across the nation on account of them being the quintessential Christmas colours. They are warm and inclusive colours which scream festive cheer and work well due to the fact that any hue of red or green can work, so if you want the theme to be moody, opt for darker variants.

Staying with iconic looks, if Gold, Red and Green aren’t your thing you could go for the crisp, clean look of Silver and White. With the white imitating the coolness of Winter’s snow, the silver adds a tasteful hint of sparkle and glamour. A great way to achieve this look is by purchasing a snow effect / flocked tree to act as a backdrop for your Christmas decorations.

Navy & Gold

For a more refined and regal colour palette, navy and gold creates a striking contrast. We at Alliance predict this to be a huge trend this season, particularly in luxury venues. The deep midnight navy provides a

dramatic and elegant stage to build your Christmas theme on. Lavishing the navy with gold accents instantly infuses the theme with a warmth which compliments a premium environment and makes a venue look distinguished and opulent.

Pink & Green

If you and your business embrace non-mainstream themes, then this may be for you. Perfect for quaint, quirky establishments that stand out from the crowd this soft, fresh and airy colour scheme creates a serene and inviting atmosphere. Our range incorporates pearlescent crackers which introduce a subtle shimmer and glamour ensuring that they still look sophisticated on your table setting.

Supporting the Environment with a Bang

At Alliance, we have taken the initiative to ensure our Christmas crackers are fully recyclable. This has been achieved by removing the powder (silver fulminate) from within the crackers which creates the classic crack. We have replaced this with the snapping sound of card instead meaning the fun can still continue, but the cracker can be disposed of afterwards via an environmentally conscious channel.

To review our Christmas offering you can contact us for a digital copy of our Christmas Catalogue, or contact your local Alliance depot who will be able to talk to you further surrounding Christmas and how we can help you be ready for the festive season.

Savour your coffee at its peak freshness

At Jiyonson, our journey began with a shared passion for high-grade specialty coffee and the joy of bringing its rich, aromatic experiences to the wider public, who have mostly been consuming drinks from commercial-grade beans. Founded by a group of coffee enthusiasts, we recognized that coffee isn’t just a beverage; it’s an art form, a ritual, and a way to connect with people.

We were driven by the idea that the perfect cup of coffee starts with the perfect roast. Thus, the BeanGo Cube X was born. This smart coffee roaster was designed with both function and style in mind. It transforms green coffee beans

Bringing real flavour to the table

- OTC BEVERAGES -

My brand of non alcoholic beverages was born as idea in 2017, when I attended my fathers birthday party. I felt there was a gap to be filled as the drinks tasted good, were made with minimal ingredients and had benefits associated with drinking them. I wanted to take the same products and elevate them. Create the same recipes with quality ingredients, refreshing taste and wrapped in packaging that had a premium look and feel. I realised early on that I did not want to just create a drink, I wanted to create a Brand. A brand that could make a difference and leave a legacy for my children and my nephew. I researched a manufacturer, did a course on Public food Health and passed the exam. Within three months of launching, we were shortlisted for the best drinks category at the Food Matters Event in Excel: in 2020, we were shortlisted in the Fruit Juices and Mixers category, in 2021, E2 Media Food & Beverages award and I won international Business Woman’s of the Year Award 2022.

In addition to the above, we have been included in the Mah Rainey Movie and MoBo celeb Xmas hampers in 2020.

In 2022, we attended the NOPE Event in Excel London, an event we had waited to attend for 2 years. It was a great success for us, as we were finalists in our category, Best organic Drink. the following morning one of the judges visited the stand to congratulate us on creating a great drink.

In the midst of the pandemic we launched our new flavour, Butterfly Pea Flower with Juice. The new flavour was well received and we entered the product in the Great British Food awards. The judges give a high mark of 15 as an assessment, our new flavour scored

12/15, which is a great watermark that confirms we are doing the right thing with our product development.

In 2021, we worked with an up and coming Director on a movie called ‘On the Other Foot” our beverages were used as product placement in the movie and we were recognised in the credits as a partner. We will be working with the same director on his next movie which is being filmed right now. We are so excited about these partnerships. WE have a number of events coming up in the year, one of which is us being a partner of the St James House Group Platinum Jubilee Celebrations - Strive for Perfection - with the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club. OTC will be featured in a commemerative book that will be issued to all the owners of Rolls Royce and Bentley’ along with all of the showrooms. We have achieved a lot in the 5 years that we have been in business and we are looking forward to gaining more customers and becoming a household brand.

Thank you for your support, as we could not do this without you. www.otcbeverages.com
