Steve Double is one of the legendary photographers of the rock music and popular culture scenes.

Steve has dealt with every conceivable situation - from spending five days on the road with Nirvana to having ninety seconds to photograph Bill Gates - to create one of the most iconic images collections on the planet.

“I’m sure that you will recognise a number of the images here and maybe even have a personal connection to a few of them from gigs you were at or films you saw or books you read or magazines that you bought.” (Steve Double)

CuT - A Band True To Themselves. Interview article by Dizzy Spell. Images (this and next pages) by Rupert Hitchcox. Dan Fatel (vocals/guitar), Louie Love (drums), Jay Clifton (bass) and Jimmy Johnson (guitar/vocals) – collectively known as CuT, are making waves on the London unsigned scene with their space punk revolution and sexy, fuzzy guitars.

I first come across them at the start of last year, playing in the Hawley Arms in Camden. You know you’re seeing a good band when they convince you to get up and dance wearing the six inch platform shoes you can hardly even walk in.. 2013 saw them release their debut EP on an epic glow in the dark 12" vinyl and they’ve been slowly taking over the rock n roll underground, I caught up after their show at The Black Heart in Camden, to see what they were up to. Karen K Shoes Cinderalla Must Go To The Ball article by Caffy St Luce

Karen K, CEO and Lead Designer of Karen K Boutique is so enigmatic that just a vision of her, perfectly heeled and charismatically chic, entranced us before we'd even met, (at a Katch PR press day in Cirque Le Soir near London's Fabled Carnaby Street.).

eliminating lower back pain. Fusing functionality with comfort, each shoe features a laser cut stainless steel spine to support the arch of the foot, and is topped with a memory foam insole that gives you that luxurious hand in glove fit.

Karen El-Khazen is the super model turned designer who hails from the noble Lebanese Princes of Maronites family.

Each pair is emblazoned on the sole with the signature Swarovski Karen K piercing which can be bespoke, and ordered in precious and semi precious stones to your personal taste.

She first graced the cover of Prestige Magazine at fourteen years old, which led to her becoming the face for the Middle East of de Grisogono, one of the most prominent jewellery brands in the world.

Produced in the same factory as Elie Saab the Karen K collection is hand finished and luxurious.

She was also the muse and first ever Lebanese model to work with Elie Saab for many consecutive years. Karen went on to become an international super model gracing a multitude of front covers-including three number 1 Elle issues worldwide, before dedicating herself to becoming a designer full time. Having grown up in heels and on the catwalks, she wanted to design footwear that not only looked outstanding but ensured comfort from a technical point of view,

Timeless elegance combined with fantasy, these delicate designs offer a feminine beauty, making each pair truly unique. I'm always on the lookout for something that inspires me. It makes you feel good. It also means that I have the opportunity to share it with you. I have a passionate interest in how our youth are influenced. I’m only 36 and still consider myself young. Though quite a few of my peers and even a few younger than me say they are too old, and youth is a distant memory. I guess I can see why, because when we were in our early twenties, the world was only just exploring this wonderful World Wide Web. Nowadays the youngsters have everything in the palm of their hands. Smartphones have revolutionised our communication. The accessibility and choice can be overwhelming. As technology speeds up faster by the day, we want entertainment exactly when we want it. We are the on-demand generation. The BBC has their interactive ‘Red Button’. We have the ability to pause and rewind ‘live television’. The next thing is being able to control the action. As internet ready TVs make their way into the home, traditional programs will be vying for time against the infinite portal to all things known and unknown. So how do we engage the youth? Funding to schools’ health and sex education programs are on the decline. Thanks to Mr Gove the content of these lessons are becoming more diluted and generalised. Kids are constantly bombarded with images. Some are good, but we know there is a whole heap of stuff they should never be exposed to, and many fall prey to manipulators.

How do you tell children that they shouldn’t smoke, drink, take drugs, commit crime? When do we get the chance to talk to children about relationships and the consequences of our actions? - The important stuff! Some get it and don’t get sucked in. But others become entrapped in the dark side of life. It’s not nice to think about, especially if you are a parent. Now there is something to fill that gap and it is available at the touch of your fingertips. In early 2012, Trylife launched as the first fully interactive show online, where you can choose to be the director. Aimed at teenagers, it puts them in control of the drama. Creator Paul Irwin, comes from a youth work background and recognised that the messages were not getting through to children by traditional means. Thinking outside the box he came up with the innovative TV show Trylife. But what makes this different to any other drama is the process taken to create each episode. Foremost, young people are at the heart of this creation and engaged from the very beginning. Trylife’s writers are in their twenties and so are the main cast. Coming from Newcastle, Paul, with his partner and producer, Nicky Kaur, decided set and cast for the first episode locally. For many, this was their first experience of acting… (continued/ click here) Read The Full Article; (The Crate – technology exclusive to Trylife, behind the scenes, the forthcoming episode is set in London, cast and crew views, Musicians – get involved, Trylife goes international, Floodliners cameo in the club scene, Trylife live events, education and more)
