with a greater and deeper understanding of the subject matter and retain that knowledge better than those who simply revise what they have learned.

RETRIEVING INFORMATION One study showed that those who go on to teach what they have learned retain knowledge better as they are compelled to retrieve the information they have studied previously. By bringing to mind the information over and over again through teaching, people acquire a longer-lasting acquisition of that knowledge.

BACKGROUND Learning by teaching is a method that has been used throughout history for a variety of different reasons, often simply due to lack of other resources. For example, some success was gained in the education of poor people in the UK in the 19th century through having older children pass on their learned knowledge to younger children. The method became more widely used in education in the later years of the 20th century as its efficacy became more easily identified.

LEARNING BY TEACHING IS ONE OF THE METHODS THAT HAS BEEN USED BY SUCCESSFUL TRADERS TO INCREASE THEIR SKILLS.
