MVP CAMPAIGN Now in her third season, Lindsey Horan has more than doubled her goal output from her first season with Thorns FC in 2016. The Portland midfielder currently ranks second. She has scored eight goals in her last 11 appearances for Portland. In addition, she leads the league in passes completed in the opponents half (421), touches (1571), duels won (256), aerials won (120), ranks second in successful passes ending in the final third (220), third in passes completed (810) and fourth in dribbles completed (40).

LAST MATCH RECAP Portland rallied back from a 2-0 deficit early in the second half, receiving a pair of goals in a nine-minute span to secure a 2-2 draw against the Chicago Red Stars on Aug. 18. Sam Kerr recorded a brace for Chicago, but Thorns FC answered back quickly as Tobin Heath scored her fourth goal of the season in the 60th minute, and Christine Sinclair tallied her eighth goal of 2018, assisted by Heath in the 69th minute to help Portland earn a point.

MATCH PREVIEW With three games remaining on their regular-season schedule, Thorns FC play host to Sky Blue FC in a midweek match on Aug. 22 at Providence Park. Looking at the playoff picture, Portland currently holds head-to-head tiebreakers with Chicago, Orlando, Utah and Houston. Thorns FC (33pts) are currently third in the NWSL standings and have a one-point lead over fourth-place Chicago (31pts) and a three-point advantage over fifth-place Orlando (30pts). In addition, just four points separate Utah and Houston tied for sixth place with 29 points and Thorns FC in third place. Heading into Wednesday, Portland is unbeaten in its last four home matches (2-0-2) and has scored a league-best 19 goals at home.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC have led the league in attendance in each of their first five NWSL seasons. Globally, Thorns FC have the highest attendance of any women’s professional team in the world, averaging 17,653 fans in their fifth season in the league in 2017. On Sept. 30, 2017, Thorns FC recorded their fourth sellout in club history. Portland played host to Orlando in its home opener on April 15, 2018, drawing a crowd of 16,466 - the second largest crowd for a Thorns FC home opener in club history.
