Portland enters Sunday’s match following a 1-0 win against the Houston Dash. Midfielder Vero Boquete scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute to secure the victory.

Thorns FC and the Boston Breakers meet for the third, and final, time this season on Sunday at Harvard Stadium; kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

LAST TIME AGAINST BOSTON Thorns FC rallied from a one-goal deficit three times, scoring three second-half goals to earn a 6-3 win against the Breakers on July 20 at Providence Park. Forward Christine Sinclair tallied the first hat trick in club history, while the two teams combined for the most goals in a single match (9) in NWSL history. Sinclair equalized right before the end of the first half in the 42nd minute and gave Portland 4-3 lead less than a minute into the second half. Forward Alex Morgan added a goal in the 52nd minute, while forward Jessica McDonald tallied Portland’s sixth goal of the match in the 88th minute. Morgan finished the match with a goal and two assists. Midfielder Allie Long tallied a penalty-kick goal in the 21st minute. Defender Steph Catley and midfielders Vero Boquete and Angie Kerr each registered an assist in the match.

In two matches this season, Boston and Portland have combined for 14 goals with each team scoring seven goals. Both games featured a hat trick. Forward Christine Sinclair has scored four of her seven goals against Boston this season.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC drew an average crowd of 13,320 fans per game during the inaugural 2013 National Women’s Soccer League season. Through 11 home games in 2014, Thorns FC has averaged 13,021 fans at Providence Park. Portland’s tallied an NWSL record 19,123 fans against the Houston Dash on ESPN2 on Aug. 3, 2014.
