ROAD WARRIORS Portland has found success on the road, earning at least a point in 11 of their last 15 road games, including three points in their last road match - a 2-0 win at Sky Blue FC on June 3. Additionally, Portland has only conceded multiple goals in a road match three times since the beginning of 2016, while also scoring at least one goal in 10 of its 15 previous road contests.

LAST MATCH RECAP Thorns FC tallied a pair of goals in the first half and forward Christine Sinclair completed her third career brace with a goal in the second half to earn a 3-0 win against FC Kansas City on June 28 at Providence Park. Sinclair opened the scoring in the 15th minute and added a second goal in the 75th, while forward Hayley Raso recorded her first career NWSL goal in the 32nd minute. In addition, Raso tallied her second assist of the season on Sinclair’s second goal, while Lindsey Horan recorded her first NWSL assist. Additionally, Portland kept its sixth clean sheet of ths season, tied for most in the NWSL, as goalkeeper Adrianna Franch registered four saves.

MATCH PREVIEW Playing their third match in an eight-day span, Portland Thorns FC travel to square off against Cascadia-rival Seattle Reign FC on Saturday, July 1, at Memorial Stadium. Saturday’s match is the first of two meetings between the clubs in Seattle. Portland travels for its first of back-to-back road contests. The match is Thorns FC’s fifth road match in it’s last nine games as part of a stretch of six of 10 games on the road. Portland opened up the stretch with consecutive road games on May 13 and May 19 and concludes this stretch away at Seattle and against the Houston Dash on July 8.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC have led the league in attendance in each of their first four NWSL seasons. Globally, Thorns FC have the highest attendance of any women’s professional team in the world, averaging 16,945 fans in their fourth season in the league in 2016. Portland’s average home attendance in 2016 ranked better than 12 English Championship teams, 10 Ligue 1 teams, 7 Serie A clubs and 5 La Liga sides home attendance numbers during their 2015-16 season in addition to 10 NBA and 10 NHL teams. In four seasons, Portland has averaged better than 14,815 fans per game, including four matches of more than 20,000 fans as well as three sellouts (21,144).
