LAST TIME VERSUS WESTERN NEW YORK Midfielder Allie Long and forward Jessica McDonald each registered a goal and goalkeeper Nadine Angerer matched a season-high with seven saves as Portland Thorns FC earned a 2-1 win against the Western New York Flash on May 21 at Providence Park. Long scored in the 17th minute, her fourth goal of the season, while McDonald tallied her team-leading fifth goal of the year four minutes into the second half. Thorns FC finished with a season-high 20 shots and a club-record 13 corner kicks in the match as the two teams registered 37 shots combined. Western New York’s only goal of the match was scored by McCall Zerboni in the 59th minute.

Thorns FC forward Christine Sinclair scored her first goal of the season in the 62nd minute of a 4-1 loss on the road against the Boston Breakers on May 28 at Harvard Stadium. Saturday’s game will be the third, and final, regular-season meeting between the two teams, as well as the second in the last 18 days. Portland enters the match with a 2-0-3 record, in all competitions, against Western New York. The team’s win on May 21 was its first during regular season against the Flash.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC drew an average crowd of 13,320 fans per game during the inaugural 2013 National Women’s Soccer League season. Through three home games in 2014, Thorns FC has averaged 13,163 fans at Providence Park. Portland’s tallied an NWSL record 17,619 fans at the team’s 2013 regular-season, home finale against FC Kansas City on Aug. 4, 2013.
