LAST MATCH RECAP Portland and Seattle Reign FC combined for four goals in a 14-minute span in the second half as Thorns FC twice rallied from a deficit before falling 3-2 to Seattle on May 5. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, defender Emily Sonnett scored her first goal of the season to level the match in the 61st minute. Reign FC reclaimed the lead in the 64th minute, but again Portland answered as Lindsey Horan tied the match at 2-2 in the 70th minute before Seattle midfielder Rumi Utsugi tallied the game-winner in the 75th minute.

MATCH PREVIEW As part of a stretch of three games in an eight-day span, Portland Thorns FC travel to square off against the Houston Dash in a midweek match on Wednesday, May 9, at BBVA Compass Stadium. It marks Portland’s first trip to Houston this season and one of two during the 2018 regular season. The last time these two teams squared off in Houston, midfielder Lindsey Horan delivered a free kick goal in second-half stoppage time to help Portland earn a 1-1 draw on July 8. Houston enters Wednesday’s match in search of their first home win of the season, while Portland looks to claim at least a point on the road for a third consecutive road match.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC have led the league in attendance in each of their first five NWSL seasons. Globally, Thorns FC have the highest attendance of any women’s professional team in the world, averaging 17,653 fans in their fifth season in the league in 2017. On Sept. 30, 2017, Thorns FC recorded their fourth sellout in club history. Portland played host to Orlando in its home opener on April 15, 2018, drawing a crowd of 16,466 - the second largest crowd for a Thorns FC home opener in club history.
