MVP CAMPAIGN Now in her third season, Lindsey Horan has more than doubled her goal output from her first season with Thorns FC in 2016. The Portland midfielder currently ranks third in the NWSL with 11 goals scored, scoring eight goals in her last 12 appearances for Portland. In addition, she leads the league in successful passes in the opponents half (468), touches (1759), duels won (283), aerials won (137), ranks second in successful passes ending in the final third (252) and successful passes (920) and third in dribbles completed (42).

LAST MATCH RECAP Portland earned a 1-0 win over the Washington Spirit in their last match on Aug. 25. Tobin Heath scored the lone goal in the match, registering her sixth goal of the season in the 15th minute. With the win, Thorns FC recorded their sixth road win of the season, which is tied for the most road wins in a single season in club history, equaling the six wins recorded by the club during the 2013 season. It was the team’s fifth shutout of the season, including their third shutout on the road.

MATCH PREVIEW Portland concludes the regular season on Friday against Seattle Reign FC in the third regular-season meeting between the two clubs in 2018. With a win, Thorns FC would secure the No. 2 seed and a home playoff game for a third consecutive season. With a loss or draw, Portland could finish in either third or fourth place, pending the result between the Chicago Red Stars and Utah Royals FC on Sept. 8. Friday’s match features the top defense in the NWSL in Seattle, which has allowed the fewest goals (16) of any team in the league this season. Portland ranks among the top two in the NWSL in goals scored (37). Seattle is unbeaten in its last five matches (3-0-2), while Thorns FC are unbeaten in their last four overall (3-0-1).

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC have led the league in attendance in each of their first five NWSL seasons. Globally, Thorns FC have the highest attendance of any women’s professional team in the world, averaging 17,653 fans in their fifth season in the league in 2017. On Sept. 30, 2017, Thorns FC recorded their fourth sellout in club history. Portland played host to Orlando in its home opener on April 15, 2018, drawing a crowd of 16,466 - the second largest crowd for a Thorns FC home opener in club history.
