Just How Many Mags From The Wannabe’s Actually Stay In Tennessee When They Sell To So Many Regional Areas?
Hum-Bug all you want….be the crudest of Grinch’s, I do not care because I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Plain, unabashed, deck the halls and hang the balls (easy, now)…..Love Christmas. I have always known that there is a magical purity that only comes at Christmas. People are trying to make up for the year of being grumps and are transformed into real human beings who treat their fellow men & women kind with genuine humanity. Gotta’ love it. Christmas brings out the best in all of us and like the Grinch, our hearts grow a little bit bigger and the thought of being with Family all day long eating and playing board games, partaking of adult beverages, eating again, watching sports or a really good movie, eating several desserts; it’s just nothing short of MAGICAL. We want to take this time to say THANK YOU to all the Advertisers who chose Thunder Roads to advertise their Charity Event, Poker Run, Toy Ride, Memorial Run, Bike Rally…..whatever it was, we know you had a choice and we are so proud that you chose Thunder Roads. We appreciate you so very much and we feel blessed and thankful that we can call you friends. Don’t you just meet the best people being a biker? Yes! Unfortunately, we still have many of our Troops still deployed, so please, take the time to get in touch with your closest military base and send a “Thank You For Our Freedom” Care Package overseas. We send magazines every month; the box that comes from our printer that has issues from all the other states so that when they arrive the guys always e-mail us and tell us that they yell out which state the mag is from and then you always hear groups of guys and gals pushing forward to grab their state edition. It is an honor and a privilege to do this small deed for those that give so very, very much. I just know a little bit of home goes a long way.

December 2013
This year has brought so much. Biskit fulfilled her lifelong dream of taking control of her weight and her life. She’s losing about a pound a day and following all the Doc’s orders. She looks great and says she feels even better. We lost our Matriarch of the Family; “Big Daddy” but we gained a beautiful little grandbaby girl, Deja Rylee, so, you already know the give and the take of this splendorific (yeah, that’s one of my words) LIFE. It’s all crazy, hectic, unpredictable, ups and downs, indescribable beauty and laugh till you pee funny. It’s LIFE, and we are GRATEFUL being able to be part of it. YOU be part of it too and just open up this Christmas and come out of your safe little nook. You’ll be amazed. We love y’all bikers. Merry Christmas from our Family to yours’. Blessings. toni & brian

“Hearing From God Correctly”
The Bible tells us that in the last days: Mat.24:24 “For there shall arise false Christ, false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders…and shall deceive the very elect.” Paul warns us in 2 Cor. 4 “For he comes preaching another Jesus…if you receive another spirit…or another gospel…ye might tolerate him.” With all the turmoil that is going on in our society today, we must be able to hear from God correctly or we will fall for “signs and wonders …being deceived.” Paul also warns us in 2 Tim. 3:4-5 “These are traitors, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of Godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” Vs.13 “But evil men (wicked, wearing a mask of Godliness) and seducers (impostors, magicians, sorcerers) shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived (they have told a lie for so long that now they believe it).” God wants to warn us against hypocrisy and unmask it because hypocrisy will expose you to several evils, what starts out as a silly error will turn into demonic promptings. Zechariah 7:11 “But they refused to hearken…and stopped their ears that they should not hear the word of the Lord.” Vs. 13 …As He (the Lord) cried and they would not hear, so they (the people) cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of host.” Have you ever thought that God is not listening to your prayers? Maybe it’s because you refused to listen to Him when He is trying to speak to you. We all need to be more like Samuel as a boy and just simply say “Speak Lord, thy servant hearth.” Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up.
In 1 Sam. 3:1-11 the Lord spoke to young Samuel three times and Samuel thought it was the Prophet Eli speaking to him. Finally Samuel said to the Lord “speak Lord, for thy servant heareth,” The Bible states in vs. 7 “Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the Word of the Lord yet reveled unto him.” Samuel was a lot like most Christians today, he was active in the House of God, yet he didn’t know God, he didn’t even know God’s Word, but Samuel was also a young boy. Just going to church every Sunday won’t make you a Christian any more than walking into a garage will make you an automobile. You don’t have to hear an audible voice from God or even have an unction in your heart, but you must know the Word of God, God will never tell you anything that doesn’t line up with His Word. If you are waiting on God to speak to you about what to do or what not to do, you’re late. God has already given you that instruction in His Word. If you don’t read His Word then you won’t know what to do, and if you won’t follow His written Word then you cannot expect to hear from God directly. So many people claim that God told them what to do but in fact, their fruits prove that it wasn’t God at all, it was their own flesh, their desires and they pimp God to get their own needs met. Just because you might “feel it or think it” doesn’t mean it’s from God. A man’s heart condition determines his hearing condition, pride & ego will stop you from hearing from God correctly. John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me.” To be found faithful, Pastor Ron 8

K.I.S.S. page composed & edited by: Toni McCoy Shearon aka “MaMa Thunder” of Thunder Roads Tennessee i have chosen this name for our monthly recipe page, as that was what my mother, rest her soul, always used to say when I would assist her in the kitchen. mom was an avid supporter of the kiss (keep it simple sweetie) method of cooking. i now, more than ever, truely appreciate her philosophy of always taking shortcuts where you can, as long as your ultimate outcome is that of down home, labor of love cooking.
CHRISTMAS PRIME RIB w/ HOMEMADE CREAMY HORSERADISH SAUCE; MADE SUPER SIMPLE
Some folks get so intimidated when cooking a Prime Rib, but it’s actually so simple and once in the oven, you get to get on with other side dishes and just forget. 1 4-6 lb. Rib Roast - will prob. have 4 or 5 bones Preheat oven to 150 degrees for medium or 135 degrees for medium rare. You’ll need a meat thermometer also. Rub your Prim Rib thoroughly all over with your hands with quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Don’t cheap out on essentials. Make a rub in a small bowl, combine: A small palmful of each; kosher salt, coarse ground black pepper, dry mustard, dry coffee powder, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, corriander and basil. If there’s any extra Rub left over, just put in a small plastic container in fridge and it’s good for up to 3 months. Remember....always rub dry spices between fingers to refreshen them. Place Rib Roast in a heavy turkey pan with sides, like a lasagna pan with thermometer placed in the middle, between 2 bones.. Put just a thin coat of Olive Oil in bottom of pan and place fat side down. Cook 2-1/4 hrs. for medium-rare with big pink center or 2-3/4 hours for medium with a tinge of pink. SUPER SIMPLE CREAMY HORSERADISH SAUCE So, take your Prime Rib out of the pan and place on tin foil and wrap it up good to let it “rest” for 15 minutes. Put the pan over a large burner on your stove and add 2 cups of beef broth over medium-high heat and take a wooden spoon and really make sure you get all those little pieces of stuck-on goodies from the Prime Rib. Add salt & pepper to taste, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1/2 cup of mayo, chopped scallions, 1 Tbl. of Grey Poupon mustard and 1/4 cup of White Balsamic vinegar and 1/2 cup of the prepared horseradish sauce in any condiment aisle. Whisk together over medium-low heat until completely emulsified. Let it get all bubbley hot and transfer to a gravy boat for guests to pour over their fabulous thick-cut slabs of perfect mediumrare or medium Prime Rib. Do something different this Christmas.......forget the turkey or ham, go elegant and first class with Perfection Prime Rib. Your Family and friends will be talking about it well into the New Year!
CHRISTMAS (ELVIS) CHEESE BISKITS
4 Ozs. Lard (very cold large marble sized) 2 Cups of Cake Flour * Makes lighter, flakier biskits 2 tsps. Baking Powder 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda 1/2 tsp. Kosher Salt 3/4 cup Buttermilk December 2013
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In large glass or ceramic bowl combine cake flour, baking soda & powder with salt. Add cubed lard and blend mixture by hand crushing mix between your fingertips as if making a dough. Continue mixing while slowly adding buttermilk. Do not overwork the dough; you want them to be kinda’ lumpy but ingredients mixed. Right at this point, add shredded cheese of your liking (this is not in Michael’s recipe but I love cheese biscuits, so now’s the time if you do also) work rough shredded cheese in fast and lightly. Spray a wooden spoon with butter spray and drop big dollops onto a Silt Sheet on a baking sheet leaving room for them to spread out as they cook. You should have enough for 12 biscuits, each about the size of a peach. Bake until lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
GRAHAM & PRETZEL CRUSTED CHEESE CAKE W/ SANTA’S SURPRISE TOPPING
1-1/2 Cup of Salted Pretzels 1-1/2 Cup of Cinnamon Graham Crackers 1/4 Cup of Granulated Sugar 3/4 Stick of Butter A Pinch of Salt Blend all this in a food processor until a slightly pliable texture to line the bottom of a glass 13x9 glass baking dish. Be sure and bring up the sides as much as mix will allow, while still keeping a good amount on the bottom as your crust. Filling: 4 8 oz.Tubs of Philly Whipped Cream Cheese 1 Cup of Sour Cream 1 Cup of Granulated Sugar 5 Large Eggs; added one at a time 1 super-full tsp. Vanilla extract Mix all this with a hand mixer until thoroughly mixed, but not overly mixed. Pour filling over your crust and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour Slow & Low, heat 1 Bottle of your favorite Preserves; Strawberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Peach....whatevs, and pour all over top of cheesecake and take a flat cake spatula to smooth out evenly. Let cool on counter for another 30 minutes to set up and then let get totally cold in fridge for a few hours. Cut into squares and serve with homemade whip cream. You are going to love this simple crust. If you don’t have a food processor put into a zip-lock bag, unzipped a tad for air to escape, and press down w/ cast iron heavy skillet to process old style.

HIGHWAY 12 MOTORSPORTS A HUGE SUCCESS!
B
by: toni mccoy shearon
ikers all across Mid-Tennessee have long been awaiting the Grand Opening of HIGHWAY 12 MOTORSPORTS, which is not a Dealership, but an independently owned “Shop”. Owned by CURT CHAMBLEE, whom many of you know his renowned father; PHIL CHAMBLEE, former Founder and Owner of C & S MOTORSPORTS of West Nashville. Phil owned the highly successful Dealership for 35 years or more. Curt however was a permanent entity at the Dealership from the time he was a baby and even more so once he got his biker legs walking then running around the store all day long, every day. He even worked relentlessly alongside Dad while attending and then graduating from M.T.S.U. with his Business Degree. Longtime friend of the family and loyal employee; RAY ASHWORTH, says he has always playfully referred to Curt as a “Cradle Motorhead”. Gotta’ love that.

On October 26th, the wait had ended and the GRAND OPENING had begun around 9:00 a.m., “Thunder Pete” and the entire Thunder Entourage was there in great anticipation, which definitely did not disappoint, as hundreds of people came and went throughout the day. It was chilly during the morning hours, but I always poke fun at Promoters and Owners saying that Biker Karma is what will assist Mother Nature in the premeditated weather for any major bike event. And, the Chamblee’s must be good people of good deeds because sure enough, by lunchtime, the sun had popped out and warmed it up enough to where a light jacket was sufficient in being totally comfy. Brad & Rene Lewis of LEWIS’ COUNTRY STORE (directly across the street of Old Hickory off of Highway 12), were busier than bees to Tupelo honey as they both and two pretty helpers smoked a little over 100 pounds of 1/2 inch cut bologna served on toasted buns (and who doesn’t love toasty buns; seriously), along with all the trimmings of lettuce, thick sliced tomatoes and your usual suspects of condiments and an extremely wide range of chips and pickles. Yum-O. Thank you LEWIS’ clan, family and staff for filling our bellies so delightfully delicious. What really strikes you as you first pull up is the length of the Shop. Massive is almost an understatement. It looks to be the length of a football field and proudly boasts a cool 18,000 s.f. That’s right! 18k, WOW! When you walk in you’re immediately greeted by anyone around the vicinity, but what I truly appreciated is that nobody hovers. They’re there if you need them, but there’s no feeling of being stalked or pressured. They encourage you to please walk around and really absorb all the details that went into making Highway 12 Motorsports not just the largest Shop we’ve ever been in, but by far the most unique. This coming from a Florida gator-girl who previously thought a mega-monster H.D. Dealership in Saint Petersburg, Florida was the largest dog in the hunt. Wrong. Highway 12 Motorsports has drop-dead, mint condition, antique automobiles and muscle cars, along with stunning antique motorcycles. And, according to Ray, every single antique car or bike in the shop is For Sale. Might be a price that would choke Linda Lovelace, but everything is indeed, for sale. This is a Shop you can easily spend two hours just walking around, admiring all the valuable displays in awe, as if you were in a historical museum of bikes and automobiles of a truly simpler time. The ambience, if you are tuned in to accept and appreciate, is palpable and enriching. Their saleable bike inventory is highly impressive also; just so many to choose…..decisions, decisions.

They had an adorable handmade Choo-Choo Train for the kids and it ran all day long and the kids were squealing and yelling to be looked at, and there were family dogs running around and barking next to the train. It actually felt like you were at a Family Reunion and that’s a hard phenomenon to pull off when you’re dealing with so many people whom most don’t know each other at all, but we all share the same passion. We sure made plenty of new friends and that’s why we love the biker community so much……eventually, you get to know everyone in the area and what better place to hang out than to have a delicious lunch over at Lewis’ Country Store, then walk across the street or motor on over and hang out at Highway 12 Motorsports and be enriched by all that lies within. We are more than proud to have Highway 12 Motorsports in the neighborhood and look forward to many great events that’s right here close by to cover and report back to our loyal “ThunderHeads”. We talked to so many of you at the Grand Opening. OH! Gotta’ give props to the band that kept everyone feeling good all day long, THE BRIT STOKES BAND. You guys were exceptionally talented and I danced with whoever was close by and even danced with that cute little dog running around with the Hwy. 12 vest on. YeeeeHaaw! Doggie Dancin’. THANK YOU Highway 12 Motorsports and Lewis’ Country Store for such a joy-filled, fun day of hospitality. We wish you much success and look forward to dropping off magazines every month and maybe, just maybe, someday I can say I’ve actually seen everything there is at your shop. Maybe. My Mom always said, “don’t break their hearts and say No, always offer up hope and say, Maybe”. Happy Holidays to all the bikers and please take the time to drive or ride on out to Highway 12 Motorsports and see this magnificent, ultimate, authentic Shop, and I guarantee you’ll find numerous items to put under the Christmas tree or dole out daily during Hanukkah. PEACE, JOY & HAPPINESS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. HIGHWAY 12 MOTORSPORTS 5110 ASHLAND CITY HIGHWAY NASHVILLE, TN 37218 (615) 891-7850

Lone Star Rally 2013 An Insider’s Look By Sharon Damante, Rally Media Coordinator GALVESTON, TX - We started out a little wet. Well, a lot wet. But, not even Thursday’s torrential downpour could dampen the enthusiasm of the more than 400,000 motorcyclists who came to party. And, by late evening on Halloween night, as the skies cleared and rain subsided, thousands of people filed into the streets of historic downtown Galveston, TX, to kick off four days of partying... jam-packed with free entertainment and more bikes then I’ve ever seen in my life. The view Saturday night (Nov 2, 2013) from balconies above the Strand was nothing short of incredible. More than 100,000 motorcycles, probably even twice that, filled the streets of historic Galveston with color and noise and lights and people. I’ve lived through 35 years of Bike Week Daytona and have never seen a sight like the Strand on Saturday night. The parade of bikes never seemed to have an end. All day and all night, they rode, and revved; blowing pipes and showing off their rides to onlookers filling every square inch of street and balcony. At the center point of the Lone Star Rally, the Strand and Saengerfest Park, with an enormous soundstage provided by Budweiser, offered up plenty of free concerts from top Houston acts like Zach Tate Band and Nick & The Umbrella Man, along with nationally acclaimed country-rock performer Jared Blake and three all-out, pyro-filled shows by the arena rock tribute act, the Hairball Band. Feeder streets along the Strand were filled with vendors selling everything from leather chaps to blinged-out bandanas, and we hit more than a few... snatching up some great finds at better pricing than I’ve seen in years.
TV show the Sons of Anarchy at the rally’s first ever SOA Experience, All Access Pass 3-day Meet & Greet event, where hundreds of rally goers were able to get autographs and photos with their favorite stars. SOA’s Tommy “Chibs” Flanagan and Mark “Bobby” Boone signed and posed for hours on end all three days, along with Kim “Tig” Coates and Theo “Juice” Rossi on Thursday & Friday, and new SOA cast members Niko “RatBoy” Nicotera and Rusty “Quinn” Coones on Saturday. Along the Seawall, the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston’s hottest attraction, the Pleasure Pier, provided a spectacular backdrop for the rally’s expanded event district, Beach Central Park. The footprint of this year’s Beach Central Park was more than double last year’s rally, which was the first year return by the rally to the Seawall since Hurricane Ike. City officials credit Rally organizers with helping to bring more attention to the newly revitalized Seawall district. SOA’s Juice and Tig, with Galveston’s gorgeous sunset as bakdrop

Bikes, Lights & People, EVERYWHERE!
Custom builder displays filled the Seawall area and three days of bike shows and four days of concerts on the Jaegermeister stage provided non stop entertainment. Another big hit at the Seawall was Ole Smoky’s Moonshine’s Rolling Shine Shack, which spread plenty of shine-cheer amid rally goers. More Rally Seawall highlights included test drives conducted by Indian, Victory, Boss Hoss and Yamaha motorcycles, along the spectacular Gulf of Mexico. Hundreds of riders enjoy checking out the 2014 lines of the four major bike brands and getting a handson chance to discover their latest and greatest cycle enhancements. Mary Ann Porada never enjoyed any bike event as much as the 2013 Lone Star Rally, as the lucky lady from Kemah, TX took home Saturday night’s big prize, a custom Honda 1800 VTX featuring Geico Motorcycle insurance themed paint and a gecko adorned, tooled leather seat. Porada recently moved to Texas from Pennsylvania in part so she could ride year-round. She currently owns a Kawasaki Vulcan Trike and enjoys all things motorcycle. This was her first visit to the Lone Star Rally and the largest rally she’s ever attended.

Rally organizers say they are pleased with the success of this year’s event, noting that the perfect combination of bright sun and fresh cool breezes Friday, Saturday and Sunday allowed rally goers to truly enjoy their experience and the community of Galveston.

by Bob “Bulldog” Ousley Dear Fellow Veterans and Patriots of Tennessee: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! What is Santa going to bring you?? Have you been naughty or nice? Maybe you were just naughtily nice or nicely naughty. For those of you who are hoping to get spanked for your naughtiness I hope Santa brings his special belt and gives you cheeks as rosy as his. You know who you are!!! As for me, I have several Christmas wishes that would bring me a lot of pleasure. The first is for Sgt. Bowe R. Bergdahl to be released by the Haqqani’s and for him to come home to his mother, father and his family. He has been in captivity since June 30, 2009, and it’s time for him to be home. Surely if we can reach out and touch Osama Bin Laden we can figure out a way to bring Bowe home. Whether he is released or not I am riding to Hailey, Idaho to be there June 28, 2014 for Bring Bowe Back day. We are hoping for 2,000 bikes and 5,000 supporters this year to mark his five years of captivity. The Vietnam prisoners of war had other prisoners of war for support. Bowe just has Bowe. Please go to the following Facebook site and support “Million Cards For Bowe.” https://www. facebook.com/events/597704600286002/?conte xt=create&ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming I am also wishing for peace and happiness for all of my brother and sister vets. Every vet makes a personal sacrifice when they join the military. Nobody comes out of the military the same person they were when they went in. Sometimes that is good and sometimes it’s not. Some vets get thrown off their game pretty far by their service and others not so much. Everyone has a different story and experience. May Santa bring you all peace and happiness this holiday season. There’s no greater gift than that and its different for everyone.
December 2013
I wish those who want my stuff, my money, my freedom, my liberty and my right to defend myself to have a change of heart and realize its okay for me to have self-determination and self-will. I don’t need someone telling me what to eat, what to run in my bike or that I have to pay for someone else’s cell phone. Santa PLEASE help those pointy headed, squinty eyed, upset people. If that wish is too hard to grant then just bring me a shiny new 12 gauge shotgun and I’ll see what I can do to help them. I am wishing for everyone who is having a hard time getting what they need at the grocery store and making ends meet to find a way to be more self-sufficient and resourceful. Our government has printed a lot of money. That can’t go on forever and when it stops we will have inflation that may make the ‘70’s look pretty tame. Money may not be worth much and we’ll all need to be able to get by until sanity returns to government. May Santa bring you a tractor, 30-06 deer rifle, a chicken coop with laying chickens, a new sewing machine and a copy of Hank Williams Jr. singing “Country Boy Can Survive.” Lastly, I am wishing everyone looks deep inside and finds their faith. We all need faith and we need a special person to share that faith with. May you and your “significant other” (the new age term) become closer than you have ever been and build a new relationship of trust, helpfulness and kindness with each other. If you don’t have a significant other, practice your trust, helpfulness and kindness and it won’t be long before you’ll have a significant other. Life is better when you have someone to share it with. Maybe you have found that person already but if not, you can trust the Bulldog that there is someone out there for you who is looking for you just as hard as you are looking for them. May you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Keep the faith. Thank a vet for the freedoms we still enjoy and support politicians who will bring back the ones we’ve lost. Fly the flag of the people and be proud you’re an American. Hug the families of those still missing because their quest for closure has not ended. Live the good life and ride for those can’t. Bulldog

NCOM BIKER NEWSBYTES Compiled & Edited by Bill Bish, National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM)
CDC TASK FORCE CALLS FOR HELMET LAWS A task force operating under the auspices of the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is recommending that all states have a mandatory helmet law in place to require motorcycle riders of all ages to wear a helmet. Citing reduced injuries and fatalities, as well as economic benefits, the Community Preventive Services Task Force, appointed by the director of the CDC, will make its recommendations to the federal agency and report its findings to the U.S. Congress in early December. The CDC, whose primary mission is to fight disease, issued a report last summer recommending that all 50 states enact universal helmet laws in response to a sharp increase in motorcyclist fatalities; but ignoring the fact that the number of motorcycles in use nationwide has increased substantially over the past decade, and that costs associated with un-helmeted cyclists involved in fatal accidents represent a tiny fraction of overall U.S. healthcare expenditures. In the meantime, U.S. Representative Tom Petri (R-WI) has authored a joint letter from members of Congress calling for the CDC to stop investigating motorcycling issues such as helmet laws, which they have no experience or expertise with, and “…to direct your attention and resources to areas that are not currently already being addressed elsewhere in the government.” URGE CONGRESSIONAL ACTION TO BAR E15 GAS The US Defenders (www.usdefenders.org) issued a Call To Action on October 26, 2013 calling for support of House Resolution 1462 “to Stop the Sale of Ethanol 15 (E15).” The bipartisan RFS Reform Act would “eliminate the corn-based ethanol mandate currently required by the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), reduce the overall requirements of cellulosic ethanol not filled by other advanced bio-fuels, and rescind the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waivers allowing gasoline blends containing up to 15-percent of ethanol.” Introduced by Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Jim Costa (D-CA), Steve Womack (R-AR), and Peter Welch (D-VT), H.R. 1462 would effectively overhaul the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) which mandates that 36 billion gallons of renewable fuels be part of our nation’s fuel supply by 2022, almost all of which being fulfilled by corn ethanol which in turn diverts nearly 40% of our nation’s corn crop from food and feed. Congress created the RFS program in 2005 to promote the ethanol industry by setting the minimum amount of renewable fuel that must be blended into motor fuels annually. E10 (10% ethanol blend) has become widely accepted and helped kickstart the ethanol industry, but in 2010 the EPA approved E15 for use in newer vehicles even though many automobile manufacturers claim its use can damage engines and void warranties, and no motorcycles or ATVs are currently approved to use the alcohol-laden fuel. Rep. Goodlatte has also introduced the RFS Elimination Act (H.R.1461), “which eliminates the RFS altogether and makes ethanol compete in a free market.” Both the RFS Elimination Act and the RFS Reform Act have been referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. 22
Meanwhile, on November 15, the EPA recommended reducing the total amount of ethanol required by the RFS to be blended into U.S. transportation fuel nationwide in 2014 from 18.15 billion gallons down to 15.21 bg, though the move to reduce the minimum volume of renewable fuel next year does not provide a permanent solution to the inflexible short-term mandates nor the long-term diversion of feed stocks to fuel. ROCHESTER, MINN ACCUSED OF DISCRIMINATING AGAINST BIKERS
An attorney representing the Confederation of Clubs of Minnesota claims that Rochester bars and restaurants illegally deny access to people wearing clothing that displays affiliations to certain motorcycle clubs and that the Rochester Police Department advises the establishments to do so. In a letter dated October 31, 2013 to Rochester Police Chief Roger Peterson and City Attorney Terry Adkins, A.I.M. Attorney Michael M. Bader of St. Paul, MN states that by denying access to people displaying affiliations to these clubs, the establishments are violating Minnesota Statute 604.12. The statute, the first and only biker anti-discrimination law in the country, says that access cannot be denied to “a person who operates a motorcycle or is wearing clothing that displays the name of an organization or association,” unless the person’s behavior is endangering other people or property, or the person’s clothing “is obscene or includes the name or symbol of a criminal gang.” Bader’s letter states that he has been provided “irrefutable evidence” that Rochester restaurants and bars violate the law by practicing “discrimination” against members of motorcycle clubs, and told the Post-Bulletin newspaper that the evidence includes taped recordings of conversations with bar owners who say police advised them to deny access to people wearing jackets or other clothing with certain motorcycle club colors and insignias. “The reason given by police, as evidenced in recordings, is: ‘that these groups have a history of violence,’” but Minnesota Statute 609.229, which pertains to gang crime, requires a gang or club to have a “pattern of criminal activity” before establishments can deny access to its members. “Our suggestion would be for Chief Peterson to send a memo to all licensed clubs and restaurants in Rochester with a copy of Minn. Stat. 604.12, advising the license holders that discrimination upon dress alone violates the statute and makes each establishment liable for damages and attorney fees for each person who suffers the discrimination,” Bader wrote in his letter. Peterson told the paper he has no plans to send the type of memo Bader suggested because the police department is not violating any statute, saying it is well-known and well-established that the motorcycle clubs Bader represents have histories of violence in the Rochester area and the police department has advised bars and restaurants to deny access to people wearing any kind of gang colors or insignias, and that includes those of motorcycle clubs with violent histories. If Peterson refuses to do so, “the next step is litigation,” Bader said in a recent interview. “And then it would be incumbent upon the city to prove this pattern of criminal activity.” According to Minnesota Statute 609.902, it requires at least three separate criminal acts within 10 years of the beginning of the criminal proceeding. GLOBAL TIRE MARKET PROJECTED TO GROW, DRIVEN BY MOTORCYCLES The worldwide market for tires is projected to grow at a 5% annual rate for the period 2014-2015, and motorcycles will be a key driver.

According to anfor industry report, the AIM-2622-F-Ad Tennessee.indd 1 increasing demand for motorcycles positively influences the demand for tires and hence leads to the growth of the Global Tire market. The demand for motorcycles comes from developing and under-developed countries where the penetration rate of cars is low.
Perhaps reflecting the nation’s sustained campaign against texting 11/1/11 5:06while PM driving, that problem is growing much more slowly than surfing the Web. The percentage of people who report texting while driving rose slightly over the past five years, from 31% to 35% of all drivers. Among those 18-29, the number who report doing so has actually decreased, from 71% to 69%.
Also, it is expected that the adoption of tubeless tires in the Global Motorcycle market will increase and will have a positive impact on the Global Tire market.
Chris Mullen, State Farm’s director of technology research says, “We need to keep an eye on social media, reading e-mail, all these other functions folks can use. … That could be legislation, it could be enforcement, it could be education and awareness.”
1 IN 4 DRIVERS ADMIT SURFING THE WEB WHILE BEHIND THE WHEEL
DRIVERS WOULD OPT TO LOSE CONTROL
Texting while driving used to be an offense identified with younger vehicle operators, but a new poll shows how it has spread to older drivers as well. The poll also found that one in four drivers are now accessing the Web while driving, yet another dangerous distraction, and the increase is driven by older drivers using smartphones.
A new survey finds that one in five Americans would never take the wheel again if a self-driving, or autonomous, car were available. CarInsurance. com asked 2,000 drivers whether they would buy an autonomous car if it meant they never had to drive again, and 20% of them said yes. That number soars if cheaper car insurance is part of the deal.
The number of drivers who report using their cell phones to access the Internet while behind the wheel continues to rise, to a point where nearly one of four drivers are going online while driving, according to a national survey that has tracked the potentially deadly practice over the past five years. There were also jumps in the percentages of people who read or respond to e-mail, and who read or update social media networks while driving, according to an article appearing on the front page of USA TODAY on Tuesday, November 12th.
While 1 in 5 licensed drivers surveyed said they would gladly turn over the keys and let computers do the driving, more than a third of those surveyed said an 80% discount on car insurance rates would make purchase of an autonomous vehicle “very likely,” and 90% of respondents said they would at least consider the idea.
Insurer State Farm began asking drivers in 2009 whether they went online while driving. The percentage of drivers who said they do so has nearly doubled, from 13% in 2009 to 24% this year. Among drivers ages 18-29, that number rose from 29% to 49%. Most research on distracted driving -- and most laws against it -- has focused on texting while driving, which creates a crash risk 23 times greater than not doing so, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. But the rise in ownership of smartphones, which allow users to surf the Web, access social media and send and receive e-mail, means there are more opportunities than ever for driver distraction, and over the past three years the sharpest increases in smartphone ownership were among drivers 40 and over. For drivers ages 40-49, the percentage that owns smartphones rose from 47% in 2011 to 82% in 2013; for those 50-64, it went from 44% to 64%, and for those 65 and older, from 23% to 39%. December 2013
Cars that park themselves, navigate stop-and-go-traffic or avert an impending collision are already on U.S. roads today, and Nissan has promised to deliver a fully autonomous vehicle -- one that allows a computer to assume control under the right conditions -- to showrooms by 2020. A fully automated vehicle that doesn’t need a human operator could someday follow. “Our survey shows cheaper insurance will greatly influence consumer acceptance,” said CarInsurance.com managing editor Des Toups. “Some of the liability of operating a car will doubtless be assumed by the manufacturer,” Toups said. “But a lot of the decrease in rates could come simply because there would be many fewer accidents.” Trust will be a big hurdle, the survey results show, as 64% said computers were not capable of the same quality of decision-making that human drivers exhibit, and 75% said they can drive a car better than a computer could. Asked what they would do with their additional free time, 26% responded that they’d text/talk with friends, 21% would read, while 10% would sleep and 7% would work.

This woman who owned a local Sports Pub bitched and complained every morning when she’d have to clean the men’s urinals as there was piss all over the floor in front of them, rather than them hitting the mark and making it in the urinal. She knew there was something going on rather than just drunken pissing. So, she posted the following sign: PLAYERS WITH SHORT BATS PLEASE STAND CLOSER TO THE PLATE. It worked like a charm. Things That Make You Go WTF? WHY? do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front. WHY? do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a Diet Coke. WHY? do banks leave vault doors open and then chain the pens to the counters. WHY? do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage. WHY? do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight. WHY? do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering. EVER WONDER................. WHY the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin? WHY can’t women put on mascara with their mouth closed?
WHY If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress? HELL YES IT IS! WHY If flying is so safe, do they call the airport the terminal? A young, little N.Y. girl was sitting proudly on her brand new bike she got for Christmas when a horse policeman rode up next to her and said “you really need reflecor- lights and a horn on your new bike, don’t you think? The little girl looked up and innocently replied, “I think your boss should think about getting you a horse with the dick underneath the animal instead of on top of it.” One of the inventors of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to Heaven. At the gates, Saint Peter told Arthur. ‘Since you’ve been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in Heaven.’ Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, ‘ I want to hang out with God.’ Saint Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God. God recognized Arthur and commented, ‘Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle? ‘Arthur said, ‘Yes, I’m one of them...’ God commented: ‘Well, what’s the big deal in inventing something that’s pretty un-stable, makes noise and pollution and can’t run without a road?’ Arthur was a bit embarrassed, but finally spoke, ‘Excuse me, but aren’t you the inventor of Woman?’
WHY don’t you ever see the headline ‘Psychic Wins Lottery’
God said, ‘Ah, yes.’ One of my most prized and praised accomplishments.
WHY? is ‘abbreviated’ such a long word? WHY is it that doctors call what they do ‘practice’? WHY is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
‘Well,’ said Arthur, ‘professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention ! God was intrigued; “elaborate, please”.
WHY is the man who invests all your money called a broker? WHY is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour? WHY isn’t there mouse-flavored cat food? WHY didn’t Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
1. There’s too much inconsistency in the front-end suspension 2. It chatters constantly at high speeds 3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble about too much 4.. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust
WHY do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
5. The maintenance costs are literally outrageous!!!!
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes?
‘Hmmm, you may have some good points there,’ replied God, ‘hold on.’
WHY don’t they make the whole plane out of that stuff?! WHY don’t sheep shrink when it rains? WHY are they called apartments when they are all stuck together? 26
God went to his Celestial Galaxy computer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it. ‘Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,’ God said to Arthur, ‘but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours’.

They give I Served Stickers FREE to veterans of the following conflicts: Iraq, Afghanistan, Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, Korea and a Veteran sticker. Over the past several years, we have distributed more than 600,000 stickers to recognize those who served. You can help by giving one hundred dollars to keep a roof over their heads; many military families have faced eviction or foreclosure due to unexpected changes that affect their finances. Transitioning wounded service members may see a pay decrease once their military pay stops and their disability benefits begin. Your donation can help these families keep a roof over their heads. Your donation of just $200 could provide power for a month to a military family in need or ensure that power is kept on for wounded warriors who need medical equipment for survival. A $20 gift can give a hot meal to a military family. They assist struggling military families by providing food boxes, grocery gift certificates, or vouchers to the commissary. Each family is provided enough food for a week while case workers help them find long-term solutions. Just $50 can help our young returning veterans that are at risk of becoming homeless if they don’t get help transitioning to civilian life. They offer free housing for wounded service members and their families to live during the transition process. These families get extra help to prepare and move to a place of their own. A $50 donation will help them keep their vehicle rolling because getting around is hard when your car is being repaired, but imagine trying to get around with a significant injury and add 2-3 daily medical appointments a day. Some of their wounded service members do not have enough money to fix their vehicles. Your donations can help heroes with much-needed repairs. You could help give a care giver a retreat.... Caregivers are essential to the successful recovery of our heroes wounded in combat. But they need to get away, connect with others in their unique situation and rejuvenate. If you would like to help our wounded veterans you can donate at www.operationhomefront.net/need/list. After a nice awards ceremony which consisted of Appleton Getting a nice framed American Flag and A bottle Of Operation Home Front Wine for their support and a speech from Marshal Lane Wife, Marshal was wounded in Afghanistan and one of the beneficiaries of Operation Home Front, His story of survival was inspiring to say the least and his story is just one of many after coffee and bagels we headed out for Appleton’s Harley Davidson where Appleton’s had live music with the Toyz band and BBQ chicken and pork sandwiches with bake beans. Appleton H-D has always been a big supporter of our military and operation Home Front gave Danny & Tia the owners of Appleton’s H-D a nice flag and a bottle of Operation Home Front Wine ( I am not sure what is up with the bottled Operation Home Front wine but I thought is was nice) by: Brian Shearon
