12 words
The project was developing from twelve words I like. My words were family, trip, colour, language, monsters…etc. Then choose one of them to keep developing the project and create a twelve words sentence about the word. I chose the “monsters” for my theme was influenced by a book I read < Monsters: A Bestiary of The Bizarre >. In this book introduce at different times, areas, countries, history background, the legend will have their monster. Additionally, the reason that monster been created maybe some story to scare the children or from the religion to make people believe.
â&#x20AC;&#x153;Do humans create monsters in their hearts, or do monsters create humans?â&#x20AC;?
At the begging, I tried to use several materials and ways to figure out how I can present my monster. And also draw down my imagination monsters. Thus, I use things like watercolour, colour pencil, soft pastel, rubber stampsâ&#x20AC;Śetc.
Develope_Human
To create my twelve monsters I created twelve humans first. Extend from my twelve words sentence that my main topic was maybe everybody has their monster in their heart. Not about being good or bad, it just like everyone has their secret. About the human, they were archetype from the people around me and have personal information for each person.
Develop _ Monsters
During the developing testing, I found out that used several rubber stamps to combine monsters make them more interested and attractive. So, I carved lots of rubber stamps and I donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t limit my mind I created whatever I want. Thus, this changes my mind that stamps not just cute or signature. When adding several rubber stamps together could be some new images. And also, the layer by layer could present a unique effect. The outcome I used the form like a door, outside is the human in black and white; inside the monster will be colourful. I want to use this way to highlight the words â&#x20AC;&#x153;everyone has his or her monster in their heart.â&#x20AC;? Another meaning is the form of the door metaphor that when open the door could open your heart show the real you.
