Micro Architecture 是我在 Bartlett 的第一個學習課題 , 爾後成了我論文的主軸 , 離開英國後我一直在思考如何將 Bartlett 的設計觀於台灣得以延續… 大一的學生於建築設計裡像張白紙 , 然而卻有著不錯的自主性與創作活力。大多的學生擅於 口頭上的描述 , 卻無法認真的面對他們所訴說的情境。手繪圖是個很真實的方式 , 強迫學生 面對他們所說出的空間想像 , 透過手的描繪清楚的將故事訴諸於圖面。 異身之間這題目提供了一個很好的故事架構 , 打破建築對於人的限制 , 行為動線與尺度都在 這題目裡被重新定義 , 這樣的一個假想也讓設計有趣了起來 , 成了個很好學習的誘因 , 學生 於這一個多月裡開始喜歡上自己的圖面也較真實的喜歡自己的設計。然而這卻是個極其重要 的議題 , 倘若今日的設計都需被重新定義 , 重新思考人的關係 , 重新想像空間的可能性 , 我想 我們所處的世界會全然不同。 我試著將 Micro A rchitecture 的觀念帶入設計 , 讓學生從微觀的態度裡細心觀察微小的變 化 , 透過真實與想像的過程討論空間的形態。一個多月下來的成果頗令人振奮 , 學生對於空 間有了些新的想像 , 這或許是個新的開始 , 於他們往後的建築生活裡 , 設計的元素不再僅僅 只是單調的 , 生冷的 !
Micro Architecture is my first project when I studied in Bartlett. Then, it also became my main concept in my final project. After graduating from Bartlett, I’ve started to think how to install the Bartlett design concept in Taiwan architectural education. The year one students are pure in the area of architectural design; however, they have brilliant idea and strong awareness. Most students are good at talking their design, but they can’t truly face the imagination what they say and what they dream. Hand drawing is a direct way to push students facing the story they create. The story and imagination are described clearly through their hand and brain. This project (Inbetween regular body and altered body) provided a lovely opportunity to break the limitation in the real world. Definition such as movement, behaviour, and human scale needs to be redefined and redesigned. This redefinition enhances the issue of this project becoming interesting and powerful. Most Students enjoyed what they drew and what they did. Also, redefinition is an important issue for students to rethink the relation between current and future design. If every design meaning was redefined, our world should be various and different. Within this project, I tried to install the idea of the Micro Architecture in this training to help students focus on tiny changes and used real objects combining imagination to create a new form. Actually, the result that students did is quite exciting because there were some interesting imaginations about new form presenting in the final presentation. This result could be a new start for students’ following design projects. At least, they’ve changed their attitude and have the new perspective to approach architectural design.
