SPECIAL TO T&T MAGAZINE
Relive the magic of the legendary folkrock duo! The internationally-acclaimed hit theater show The Simon & Garfunkel Story (www.thesimonandgarfunkelstory. com) returns to the road in 2025 with a North American tour to nearly 60 U.S. cities. Stopping at RP Funding Center on April 3, 2025, the immersive concert-style tribute show, complete with nostalgia-inducing, unforgettable hits, will recreate the magic and authenticity of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel live on stage and chronicles the amazing journey of the iconic, GRAMMY-award winning act.
Fans aren’t the only ones blown away by The Simon & Garfunkel Story. Earlier this year immediately following a performance in Long Island, Art Garfunkel himself rushed the stage, grabbed the microphone, and declared, “What a great f------ show!” before leaving the audience in awe once again. If the legend himself is a fan, you know this is a tour you won’t want to miss.
The Simon & Garfunkel Story covers the duo’s humble beginnings as Tom & Jerry, to their incredible success as one of the best-selling music groups of the ‘60s, as well as their dramatic split in 1970. The
Simon & Garfunkel Story culminates with the pair’s famous “The Concert in Central Park” reunion in 1981 which had more than half a million fans in attendance. The show features a set list of nearly 30 songs and uses state-of-the-art video projection, photos and original film footage. A full live band will perform all of the hits including “Mrs. Robinson,” “Cecilia,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound” and many more complete with the unmistakably perfect harmonies that will transport audiences down memory lane.
With more than 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel’s unforgettable songs and poetic lyrics poignantly captured the times made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos of all time. Over the years, they won 10 GRAMMY Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1977, the Brit Awards honored their “Bridge Over Troubled Water” album with Best International Album. In 2003, Simon & Garfunkel were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the following
year saw their “The Sound of Silence” awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award. For tour dates, tickets and more information about The Simon & Garfunkel Story, visit www.thesimonandgarfunkelstory. com.

One Year Later
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” - Ecc. 3:1
This month marks one year since I moved away from Florida. For personal reasons I’d rather not divulge, I was forced to leave my home and move up with family in Virginia.
Had I continued residing in Florida, I would have spent 20 years of my life in that state. I attended and graduated college there. I learned how to drive and obtained my license. I worked my first job. And, sadly, I lost my mother, who had passed away two years prior.
I have a lot of memories as a Florida resident. Being able to take a stroll in my suburban neighborhood. Being able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Florida wilderness. Visiting the beach on occasion. Making the best friend I ever had, and sadly, also losing them.
Bowl party. And me making my world-famous jalapeño poppers for the occasion.
I miss taking a stroll around Lake Mirror after enjoying a bowl of spicy miso ramen from The Joinery. Visiting Eagle Ridge Mall for my evening stroll through the mall. Hearing the bells ringing from Bok Tower. Seeing the sights and sounds from LEGOLAND along Cypress Garden Boulevard. I miss Winter Haven. I miss Lake Wales. I miss Lakeland. I miss Haines City and even Frostproof and Fort Meade. In short, my heart yearns for Florida. And yet, since moving up here in Virginia, I’ve gained a lot as well. I gained an immediate support system with my family who are willing to help me with anything I require—and I could use all the help I can get.

8. MOVIES: In which year were the first Oscars awarded?
9. MEASUREMENTS: What does 1 gallon of water weigh?
10. GEOGRAPHY: What are the colors of the Italian flag?
And, of course, there was Disney World. What greater privilege was there than living less than an hour away from the Happiest Place on Earth? For nearly eight years, my family and I were passholders. I must have ridden every ride in all four resorts more than twice.
Now, living in Virginia, there are still many aspects of Florida life that I miss. Having now experienced three snow days, I certainly miss not having to be snowed in or worrying about ice on the road. Not to mention being able to walk outside in the middle of winter wearing only a T-shirt and shorts.
There’s so much more I miss about Polk County. I miss my old church family at Garden Grove Church. Their annual Super
I gained a better deal on my car insurance. I gained better health insurance, which has allowed me to take medication and attend therapy to help facilitate my Autism, as well as help me combat my depression and anxiety.
And while, over the years, I have lost parents and grandparents and other beloved family members, that same time saw many additions. The birth of my great nephew and niece. The marriage of both a nephew and niecein-law. The adoption of a nephew and his partner. And the addition of a friend of a family who’s like a quirky aunt.
I have lost a lot this past year, these past few years, but I have gained just as many blessings. And for that, I could not be more thankful.

• In the closet, we all want to pare away unused items, but sometimes it seems like you wear clothes that you don’t. Turn all the clothes hangers the opposite way (facing out instead of in). When you use an item and it is returned to the closet, replace the hanger normally. In a few months, if an item has not been worn, it’ll be apparent. If it’s not likely to be worn, it should go.
• Spring is a wonderful time to clean the walls inside your house. It clears away hidden dust and really freshens a room. Clean painted walls by dusting them first with a dry mop, then washing with a rag dampened in water. If you need a little extra oomph -- say, in the kitchen or bath -- add a couple drops of mild dish soap.
• New drapes or even new pillow covers in a fabulous pattern can really jazz up a room. Consider switching smaller furniture accents between common rooms or a fresh furniture arrangement to change it up.
