Microsoft ready to release
Windows 10
Hello, we’re back! This month we’re focusing on the imminent release of Windows 10. New operating systems always fill people with a mixture of excitement over new features and worry over the upgrade process. For this edition we will look at the new features coming to Windows 10.
Faster, cross device unity and voice control. With the launch of Windows 10 we have been testing the pre-release version and the improvements made to Windows 10 are very welcome. Faster Operating System: In our tests we have found Windows 10 to be faster overall, boot times have been reduced and applications load faster Multi device support Microsoft are looking to make using their devices (Xbox, laptop, mobile etc) a seamless experience allowing you to move documents between devices and syncing contacts and photos to all devices, Microsoft have taken a leaf out of Apple’s book here but maybe they have taken this to the next level. Voice Control Cortana is coming to the desktop; this is Microsoft’s voice control platform. Having been available on Windows mobile for some time you will now be able to take advantage of this useful tool on your laptop or tablet running Windows 10. Internet Explorer replaced! Internet explorer is being replaced with Edge, this new browser could finally see Microsoft have a contender to Chrome and Firefox. Xbox Integration The Xbox app on Windows 10 collects all games played on any Xbox or Windows 10 device, a universal friends list and an activity feed. Every Windows 10 device will have the Xbox app preloaded. Free Upgrade The great news is that if you’re running Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 you can upgrade for free. Come and have a chat about how you can upgrade and for a demo and advice on the new Windows operating system. We are also offering any customer buying a computer from us a free upgrade to Windows 10 on release, Laptops and Desktops from £195 and Tablets From £80.
Keep an eye out in the August edition of TR11 for our next update!

Messy Church at St. Francis School th Sunday 14 June 2015
On Sunday afternoon when the weather was glorious & the town was buzzing, 5 families together with a good representation of the Messy Church Team, attended for this month’s “Come Together” at St. Francis School. The theme was “Sharing the story” & following the reenactment of the event when Jesus told his followers to “Go & make followers of all people in the world” (Matthew 28v19), our activities attempted to illustrate this command. The Rev’d Geoffrey Bennett was our story-teller & our actors used props to make it more relevant to today. Our song for the session was “Go tell it on the mountain”. A game of Chinese Whispers, making of aeroplanes & flying them around the hall (to remind us that both people & news can be taken to all parts of the world today) absorbed all ages & colourful flip-flops were created reminding us that the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit – are 3 equal parts that make the whole God. A good meal with conversation and the afternoon came to a close with a prayer. Why not join us on Sunday 19th July on Castle Beach – 4pm!

Yet another Spirit-‐filled evening. 74 people came to the Penmorvah Hotel on th Monday 15 June not only to sample the scrumptious muffins and hot coffee provided by the hotel, not only to receive the warm welcome given by Neil and his staff, but to sing some wonderful songs, listen to a moving life changing story and an inspiring talk. The singing was wonderful, seventy-‐four disparate voices in harmony, we could have sung all night. However, Christine (or Chris as we should now call her) gave an emotional story of how she came to know the Trinity, First Jesus, then several decades later, God the Father and finally the Holy Spirit. A moving story that touched the hearts of all who w ere there. These life changing stories which show different ways that ordinary people meet our Lord we find most uplifting. Chris’ story will remain with us for a long time. Roger Makin’s talk was based on the theme “Who the ‘heaven’ do you think you are?” He looked at the nature of our relationship with God. All the talk about a vindictive and violent God which non-‐believers delight in, is missing the point because it is not the starting point. The starting point of the relationship is, that God loves you. Unconditionally. We don’t have to do anything to make him love us. This goes against normality. Our whole being tells us there is no such thing as a free gift, that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Also that if we want something we must earn it and we should not be beholden to anyone. Even Jesus’ disciples took a long time to understand the finer point of what Jesus was trying to tell them. What occupied their minds were things such as: who was the best among them, who would get to sit next to Jesus in heaven. Jesus, who knew what they were thinking, pointed out that they had no chance of entering heaven unless they became like a child. That is not to mean that they had to be humble, simple, innocent and obedient as we think little children are. How well do you know little children? Children have nothing to offer, they are valuable simply because God made them. So who do you think you are? You are a child of God. We have nothing of our own to offer in exchange for a place in heaven. Little children are dependent, we must depend on Jesus. Little children are trusting. To them the world is anything but a welcoming and helpful place. Little children are receptive, it is amazing how open they are. Being receptive is essential for receiving the Gospel message. So who do we think we are? If we are wise, we know that we, like little children, have nothing to offer, but that we are loved unconditionally. Every single one of us – personally. The evening finished with prayer for those who felt the need. Everyone felt uplifted and filled with the Spirit. th The next meeting is on the 20 July in the Penmorvah Hotel (not as advertised in Budock Village Hall) The times are 7:30 – 9:30. Churches in Action
Having only lived in Falmouth for 10 years I am still a relative newcomer. Apart from the obviously stunning scenery in the area Falmouth and Penryn also have a strong community spirit. This makes them very special places to live. We see cooperation between the services, medical facilities, and the endless list of social and sporting opportunities. Don’t get me wrong, I know it isn’t perfect, but it certainly provides a secure and cheerful environment.
Over the years Falmouth and Penryn Churches Together has been able to find it’s place in the community and we work hard to extend and advance the links we have with the council, the police, medical establishments as well as the commerce and general activities of the towns.
Perhaps the easiest way to illustrate where we are involved is to list the main events that happen regularly: • Foodbank (based at Highway Church) • Footsteps Café (every Friday at King Charles the Martyr Church) • Filling Station (regularly reported in TR11 Magazine) • Street Pastors (in the town every Saturday night) • KidzKlub (now operating in four Schools) • Care Home Ministry (taking services in eight homes) • Prayer Tent (on the Moor first Saturday of the month) • Be Beautiful • Men’s Brunch • Safe Space (operating alongside Street Pastors) • School Chaplaincy (operating in two Senior schools) • Justice and Peace Action Group
Apart from the above we have all enjoyed the Live Nativity, did you see Live Easter this year? Countless individual events are celebrated along side the regular activities. The lost goes on and on. Falmouth and Penryn Churches Together exists to be of help to locals and visitors in any way possible and appropriate. Why? Because; as individuals and churches we want to be available to help during difficult times and to help celebrate the good times. If anything we do applies to you or you want to make contact with an individual church or agency run by Falmouth and Penryn Churches Together call 01326 315249, the Emmanuel Baptist Church office. Or look on our website at www.falmouthchurchestogether.org.uk With 17 churches now involved we are a significant section of the community. Visit us, contact us and I promise a warm welcome.

Volunteers to host a great day out for Marie Curie
Volunteers from all over Cornwall are hosting their annual Trewithen Classic Cars and Country Fayre at Trewithen Gardens, Probus on Sunday 26 July. This will be the 4th year, thanks to the support of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Galsworthy and family, that Marie Curie volunteers have hosted a great day out.
There will be many attractions including over 100 classic vehicles with displays of new luxury cars from local dealerships. Each year more classic cars have attended and put on a wonderful display and volunteer Larry Datson is expecting another great show this year, ‘we are calling out to all classic car owners to attend Trewithen and make this event for Marie Curie the best to date.’ Visitors will also have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful gardens during the day and be entertained by Truro Male voice choir, St Dennis Youth Band and The Roseland Community Choir. Some of Cornwall’s best local talent will be on show on the craft stalls and there will be a diverse selection of delicious food available to enjoy. There will be a return of the local Police Dog Handling team followed by the Fun Dog Show, with an opportunity to try out field archery. New this year at Trewithen will be an antique valuation session courtesy of well known local auctioneer Philip Buddell and visitors are invited to bring along their car memorabilia. Another exciting new activity will be the introduction of a Gardeners Question Time hosted by Gary Long, head gardener at Trewithen, with a panel of fellow experienced horticulturists. Entry is just £5 per person (under 16s free). Keep up to date with our programme at www.countryandclassics.org.uk/. Every £20 raised will provide an hour of nursing care. Every hour of every day the charity is making a real difference to the lives of people with a terminal illness and their families across Cornwall with this totally free of charge service. There is still time to enter your classic vehicle for this event and there are limited spaces available for craft or food stalls. Please call the Truro office on 01872 260500 or email cornwallvolunteers@mariecurie.org.uk For more information on how you can support the vital work of Marie Curie in Cornwall please call the Truro office on 01872 260500.

Have fun!! Let me know how you got on hayley@tr11mag.co.uk
HOMEMADE LOLLIES are a cheap and healthy alternative to the shop-‐bought kind...The kids will love helping to make these and, unlike some of the shop-‐bought ones, you know exactly what's going into them. You can buy plastic lolly moulds and little wooden sticks quite cheaply from most supermarkets at this time of year and pound shops quite often have them too. There are so many variations you can try, why not try them all and pick your favourite. Ingredients Fruit juice lollies: -‐ apple and blackcurrant cordial / orange cordial / any fresh fruit juice water (or lemonade!) Yoghurt lollies: yoghurt (any flavour) / fromage frais (any flavour) Method Fruit juice lollies Using either cordial or fresh fruit juice, dilute to about half and half, with water (or lemonade for a treat) -‐ fill ice lolly moulds and freeze. Yoghurt lollies Use you favourite flavour of yoghurt or fromage frais mixed up with a little milk -‐ fill ice lolly moulds and freeze. Handy tip Pots of fromage frais make good lollies -‐ just whip the top off, pop a wooden lolly stick in each one and freeze! Why not try... Mix 'n' match: For a two coloured lolly that the kids will love you can always try half filling the moulds with one thing, letting them freeze and then adding something else before returning to the freezer -‐ anything goes really so just have fun experimenting! Banana popsicles: Cut a banana in half width-‐ways and push a lolly stick into the cut end of each half, spread with peanut butter or chocolate spread, wrap in greaseproof paper and freeze Fruit lollies: So many options here... apples, peaches, berries, bananas -‐ whatever you fancy, peeled and cored, then blended with some fruit juice or plain yoghurt Banana & honey lollies: Blend bananas with a small amount of honey and milk Angel Delight lollies: Taste just like 'mini-‐milks'! 24 Please mention TR11 when contacting our advertisers
