Sue Morant, publicity officer for Pink Wig said "After last year's event, companies and individuals have realised that we are here for the long haul and understand our passion in the need to raise money to help fund research into finding a cure for this dreadful and heartbreaking disease."

Whether you’re looking to convert your bathroom to level access, to address mobility issues, or simply to add a touch of luxury and elegance to your home, your wetroom will be designed and installed to match your exact needs.

The owners of The Shed on Events Square are supporting Pink Wig Events by holding an auction evening in September for the best prizes donated. The main auction item up for grabs is an amazing evening donated by The Shed of a fine dining 5 course meal for 6 people catered for and served by Toby Lamb and Lee Fuller who will be cooking the meal and serving it in the top bidders home. Just think how impressed your family, friends, clients and colleagues would be to be invited to this fabulous treat. Other items to be auctioned are from the Budock Vean Hotel, a Made for Life Pure Escapism

We are proud to deliver wetroom solutions that not only enhance our customers’ lifestyles but also increase the value of their property. If you’d like to speak to us about what we can offer, get in touch to arrange a free, no-obligation consultation.

Day, and from The Cove at Maenporth a meal for 4 people. Throughout the evening the raffle will be drawn for tickets purchased at the Pink Wig Night, which was once again, an astounding success held on Friday August 9th. TRy these delicious Autumn Recipes

Go on TRy it!! Swamp Circus TR11 Hoodies in the RAFFLE! FA M IL Y

Riverford recipe: squash & autumn veg quesadillas serves 4 www.riverford.co.uk

1 small to medium-‐sized butternut squash, peeled & diced 1 red pepper, diced 1 cob sweetcorn, kernels removed 1 red onion, finely diced ¼ tsp. ground coriander ½ tsp. ground cumin ¼ tsp. paprika 1-‐2 fresh chillies, deseeded & finely chopped 2 tbsp. olive oil & a little oil for brushing sea salt & ground black pepper 4 large flour tortillas large handful coriander leaves 100g grated cheddar 100g grated double gloucester

Toss the squash, pepper, corn, onion, spices, chilli and olive oil in a large baking dish. Season. Roast in the oven at 190°C for 30-‐35 mins, until the squash is tender. Brush each tortilla on one side with a little oil. Put one of the tortillas in a large non-‐stick frying pan, oil side down. Sprinkle some of the cheese over one half of the tortilla, then the veg mixture, then a few coriander leaves. Fold the other half of the tortilla over to make a half circle, gently pressing down with your hands to flatten. Gently cook for a min or two, until the tortilla is crisp and golden brown (keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn). Carefully turn over using a large fish slice and cook on the other side. Keep warm in a low oven while you repeat with the others. Cut each one in half to serve. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole.

Riverford recipe: raspberry & cinnamon muffins makes 12 www.riverford.co.uk

150ml sunflower oil 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar 225g self-‐raising flour 175g light brown sugar 50g ground almonds 75g porridge oats ½ tsp. ground cinnamon 2 punnets (250-‐300g) raspberries

ba Zum Off nce Da

These are dairy-‐free and very moist thanks to all the raspberries. They’ll keep in an airtight container for a few days. You could also freeze them.

Preheat the oven to 220˚C and line a tin with large paper muffin cases. Put the oil and vinegar in a bowl and add 200ml cold water. In another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, almonds and cinnamon. Tip into the oil/vinegar mixture and stir until just combined (over-‐mixing makes the muffins tough). Gently stir in the raspberries and fill the muffin cases evenly. Bake for 30-‐35 mins, until cooked through and golden on top.

i-‐LIPO INCH LOSS.

LASER THOSE EXTRA INCHES AWAY!

Target those hard to shift areas for immediate inch loss

i-‐Lipo Laser lipolysis was developed to help remove excess fat in hard to lose areas. i-‐Lipo Laser Lipolysis uses a non-‐invasive, low level laser light to trigger a range of reactions within the fats cells of the adipose tissue layer. The i-‐Lipo laser breaks down the hard triglyceride content of the fat cell into free fatty acids and glycerol, your everyday energy. The laser light also temporarily opens the pores on the outside of the fat cell walls to allow the contents to escape through the pores into the interstitial tissue surrounding the fat cell. The free fatty acids and glycerol are picked up by the lymphatic system and then delivered into the circulatory system as excess everyday energy. This excess energy then needs to be burned off through 40 minutes of cardio vascular exercise by the end of the day so that the fat cell contents are not restored back into the body. Depending on your fitness levels and preference this could be going for a brisk walk, jog, run, walking the dog or doing your usual gym or exercise class. We measure immediately before and after your first, fourth and last treatment to show you the inch loss results. Even from the first treatment there is a measurable, instant inch loss because the fat cells have shrunk. In fact the treated fat cells only take 6 minutes to empty! The course of treatment is 8 treatments in a month preferably two per week with a day off in between treatments and is available locally at Waterside Skincare. Even better, for those busy, time pressed people the treatments only take 30 minutes too! Don’t take our word for it! Here’s what one of our clients Jane from Penryn said: “I am very excited and pleased to report that after having I-lipo for 8 sessions, I am now 15.5 cm smaller around my waist and tum!! The treatment was both enjoyable and relaxing and has totally spurred me on to lose more weight and take more of an interest in myself!”

TR11 Regular Church Programmes & Services:

Walk Cornwall 2

21st - 28th September 2013 Walk Cornwall 2 is almost upon us and I especially hope it will be good news for Cornwall. For, essentially, that is what it is about, good news and, for a period of one week, walkers from all over the country will be coming to this county to share with us the best story ever - that God loves us so much. That's why we have put on a series of fun events and opportunities for people to meet with the walkers in various venues. Prepared to be inspired as they tell stories of how God has met with them and how he would love to meet with us all. Please do feel free to join in any of the events outlined below - we would love to see you. We begin our week at 8:00 am on Sunday 22nd with an Early Morning Service on Swanpool beach followed by BBQ breakfast then walk the Ancient pathway to Budock Church for the 10:00 am Service followed at 12:00 with a Baptism Party. On Monday 23rd we will be at Falmouth Cricket Club for most of the day for Any Questions. Come along with your questions such as Is there life after death or Does God exist, and meet the panel. Bring any of the questions you have always wanted to ask about God and our faith. The morning session is from 10:15 am 11.30 am. The evening session 7.15 pm - 8.30 pm. Tuesday lunchtime we meet at the Trelowarren Arms, Budock Water for 12.30 for a Hot Potato lunch and a hot potato topic. If you have ever wondered why there are such things as religious wars and natural disasters this is the place to be. At 7:00 pm we meet again in the Pub for a Men's Curry Night with a guest speaker to stimulate our thoughts. Wednesday at 10:00 am we have our weekly Communion Service at Budock Church and you are most welcome to come and join us. From 2:30 pm there will be Afternoon Tea in the Village Hall, Budock Water. Come along and enjoy a cream tea and find out what the walkers are doing and why. On Thursday join us for a Ramble to Maenporth. We will meet outside the Trelowarren Arms at 2:30 pm. Tonight is the ladies turn with a Pamper Evening at Falmouth Golf Club from 7:30 pm onwards. Maybe treat yourself to a manicure or hand massage. On Friday at 12 noon we have a pasty lunch for all the working people with a Guest Speaker covering some of the Hot Topics of our time. This evening at 7:30 pm sees the first of our Feast nights at Falmouth Golf Club. A two course Carvery dinner with Guest Speaker, Roger Murphy. On Saturday 28th we begin the day at 9:30 am with a Men's breakfast in the Trelowarren Arms. This afternoon we are hoping to have some fun on Swanpool Beach (weather permitting) followed later in the day with the 2nd Feast night at Falmouth Golf Club where there will be a speaker and entertainment. Sunday 29th is the Walkers final day with us and we celebrate their time with us with a special Celebration Harvest Service at Budock Church followed by a Pasty & Pudding Lunch. The church will be open throughout the week if you would like to spend a few minutes in the peace and tranquillity or maybe chat to someone; there will be a diary room where maybe you can record your thoughts from the week or write a special prayer for someone and also take the opportunity to light a candle. The walkers will be out and about during the week and will welcome the opportunity to stop and chat. You will recognise them by their t-shirts and hoodies bearing footprints. Many of the above events have limited places so if you would like to join us or would like some more information please see our website www.budockchurch.org/festivals or phone The Vicarage Tel: 01326 376422

Ken Bryar who featured in the 2nd Issue of TR11 in December 2012 was born on the 4th September 1913. He celebrates turning 100 years old this month! In 1952 Ken, his late wife Elsie and their family moved to Falmouth from Yorkshire and in 1954 they moved to the house Ken still lives in today. Ken Bryar was the ‘Weather Man’ of Falmouth. From 1953 to 1977 Ken went every morning to the recreational and Rugby ground at 9am and every evening at 6pm for 24 years. He took the rainfall, air temperature and ground temperature and telephoned the details through to the Met Office. Ken retired in 1977 at the age of 64; he has been retired now for 36 years! He was awarded a British Empire Medal for his long-standing service to the Met Office. Got a local or personal story? Call 01326 313633 Hayley would be interested to hear from you

Garden TR11cks September Things to do in the garden

PorTRait

September is a lovely month in Cornwall, often the most settled and sunny, and there should still be lots of colour in the garden. Keep deadheading repeat flowering plants such as roses, penstemons & dahlias to prolong their flowering season. Its also a good time to take cuttings of tender perennials such as penstemon, osteospermum and salvias so that you’ve got healthy young plants for next year. Its the most abundant month for autumn fruiting raspberries - this year I’ve been reluctantly sharing them with the blackbirds, but have finally deterred them with garden netting perched on bamboo canes with a flowerpot upside down over the cane - ingenious! Keep up with picking them regularly and freeze them or make jam (very easy) with any glut. Keep picking vegetables such as courgettes, tomatoes, beans and sweetcorn. September is a great time for establishing a new lawn, either with grass seed or turf as the ground is warm and there can be rain to water it in and get it growing.

Fuchsia Riccartonii - a very tough and hardy fuchsia, suitable for an exposed salt windy position and for hedging, it grows 1.5m -2.5m high with dark green leaves with a bronze sheen and lovely single scarlet flowers with a purple centre which bloom over a long period Ceratostigma wilmottianum - this low growing small deciduous shrub is worth waiting for as its forget-me-not blue flowers on red tinged stems only come out in the autumn and the foliage gradually turns red too. It looks good with ornamental grasses. SEPTEMBER 2013
