Feeding My Key Club Love - Angelica Lopez
I haven’t been to an event in a long time, and Run4Hunger was the first event I attended this year. It feels great to get involved with Key Club again. When the race started and while we were waiting for the participants to reach our section, we were all thinking of cheers to use. The runners pass by and we’re screaming the Key Club chants “We are Proud of You,” “Good Job,” “Super Star,” and a new chant that was created by Jesstine called, “You Can Do It.” Henry was the most enthusiastic while cheering, that even the runners complimented him for being energetic and supportive after they finished the race. Cheering on the runners reminded me of the time I went to Fall Rally North because I almost lost my voice when the marathon was over. While we were cleaning up after the event, all the volunteers received free food and a free slushie. After a long time of not volunteering, helping out at Run4Hunger made me realize that I want to become more involved with Key Club and serve others and the community because being able to help people makes me happy. I’m old - Theresa Nguyen
Hello, my name is Theresa and I feel like a senior citizen in Key Club. This year's OTC is my first and last. It was joined with 7 North so as I walked into the Treasurer's workshop I was amazed at the great amount of D7N members. However, as the day came to an end, I learned from my little freshmen children that it was mostly 7 South! There's so many new faces that I have yet to familiarize myself with. It's really a struggle. Too many people with way too many memories waiting to be made. I felt so old and left out, but in a matter of seconds, Diego (forgot what school) and a couple other people pulled me into a game of Jeopardy. They sparked me with their youthful spirit and dazzling smiles. It was a great experience considering that I was one of the only seniors there (cry emoji). I look forward to ending the year off with the family I've grown to know and love and the family that I have yet to meet. Ultimately, it's summer, dudes. Get yourself out there! Go to service events! Meet people! START SUMMER HOMEWORK! (I fell asleep after 5 mins.) MAKE NEW FRIENDS! P. S. DCM was lit. Many Sheldon people on DLT woot woot. Go to the next on on July 16. Page 17

Thriving through service - Nicole hoang At a recent Key Club event I volunteered at,
Run4Hunger, I was given the tasks of cheering on the participants of the run, as well as putting away supplies such as tables and chairs that were used during the event. Even though it was pretty hot that day, I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my Saturday morning any other way. Doing community service is important to me because it gives me an opportunity to give back to the community in a way that benefits others. It also allows me to interact with people that I’ve never met before. If it weren’t for Key Club, I’d be struggling to find community service events to volunteer at. So far during the first half of summer break, I’ve attended a couple of Key Club service events to get a head start on service hours before the new school year approaches. Key Club has benefitted me in so many ways by giving me the chance to meet new people, make a difference in my community, and learn new things through service events.

Monsters of the Month
Member and officer of the month Member of the Month - Mindy phan Princess Mindy is a loyal and royal member in her community. Over this summer, she was bombarded by the fruit and customers at Jamba Juice by Target. (Go visit her) However, she never fails to show up with a smile at service events. She evens gives everyone rides. She is super friendly and thoughtful. Recently, she even offered her house for a Sheldon Club social! Princess Mindy is a selfless individual who never gives up on a friend nor a chance to serve the community.

Officer of the Month - jenny chen Jenny Chen is a small girl with BIG ambitions. She wants to help Sheldon soar to new heights this year. But in order to achieve her goals as treasurer, she needs $$$. This past month she made endless calls night and day to 10 different shops/stores asking for their interest in a fundraiser. Unfortunately, the shops were so busy that they forgot about Jenny. However, that did not stop her. She sprinted to the stores as fast as she could and now she is eagerly waiting for the day of our fundraiser at SnoBites on July 26. Jenny is a dedicated officer who is not swayed by rejection or anything that could push her down.
