hat’s up Sheldon Monsters?

I can’t believe Fall Rally North is over! I sincerely hoped that those who attended learned more about Key Club—both the charity aspect and the positive social aspect. I hope that the experience is something that you will not forget. Seeing how spirited, happy, and excited you were touched me heart. Words cannot express my feelings of thankfulness I feel for you all. To those that could not attend, do not fret! There is always next year! We are currently Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF! If you haven't picked up a box yet, make sure to do so. The deadline is November 10th! Top 8 sellers will get a chance to…PIE AN OFFICER! What?!

Happy reading,

Tracy Ly

HYPE – DARREN LIAM SZE

Featured

Fall Rally North is one of my favorite events of the year, because of the hype, energy, and how everyone feels like they are a family. Last year I was shy and I did not know what to expect. I was only interacting with people in my club, but this year I intend to meet new people from other divisions, learn more about Key Club, and add more spirit items to my outfit. Meeting others is a great feeling because it's nice to start new friendships and maybe you will see them down the road in other Key Club events, which gives me a great feeling. I really recommend others to go to Fall Rally North this year because your perspective on Key Club will change and make you love it even more. I cannot wait for the new memories made in Fall Rally North 2016. Let's win that spirit stick!

Reborn - david nguyen

Hello, my name is David Nguyen and I am currently a freshman at Sheldon High School. This means I am new to Key Club. The reason I joined Key Club is that my older brother, Abraham Nguyen, spent most of his high school years in it and encouraged me to join. He created a Key Club commercial video that received 2nd place at ICON in 2013. This makes me proud because someone that I am close to accomplished something great like this. I went to multiple events that made me learn more about Key Club, make new friends, and help the community. One event that I went to was the Region 16 Training Conference. There were workshops that helped me learn about Key Club, time management, and about DCON. I also met people from other divisions and got to get a little taste of how rallies would be like in Fall Rally North. Because of the many events that I have attended so far, I would love to be involved in Key Club. This Key Club journey of mine has only just begun, so there will be many new memories that I will encounter. That’s how I feel about Key Club.

The life of key club - michelle yang

Key Club is a really great place to enjoy the company of others and also to get some required community service hours. Particularly to me, Key Club has made me feel happier because I’m out of the house and I get to go to places I wouldn’t usually go to. I also get to meet new people and learn different ways to help my community. During my freshmen year, I joined Key Club as a way to get hours. I didn’t think that I would have fun or meet so many new friends. I actually started getting more into Key Club and joining more service events because I wanted to get rid of my community service hours. But out of that I’ve learned how to work with others in a team to do tasks. And now I try to grab the chance to go to any event I’m available for. Since Key Club is filled with great people, community service is enjoyable even if it’s just picking up trash, such as Farm to Fork, where we had to clean up after the event. Sure it was tiring, but I got to joke around with people and even get free corn! It just comes to show that anything can be fun if you’re with the right people. Key Club is a wonderful organization and I’m glad I signed up for it. Page 18

Trick-or-treating for unicef

By Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF, we can help eliminate MNT (Maternal Neonatal Tetanus) around the world. MNT kills one newborn every 11 minutes, which adds up to approximately 49,000 babies every year. Newborns often suffer from painful convulsions and are extremely sensitive to light and touch, but not only does this effect the baby, but the mother as well. Asking family, friends, teachers, or simply leaving your UNICEF box at a family workplace can be extremely effective. (Be sure to mention your cause, and emphasize your mission statement!) The top 8 members who raise the most funds will also have an opportunity to PIE ANY OFFICER of their choice! Page 19

Monsters of the Month

Member and officer of the month Member of the Month - JUSTIN TRUONG Flufferson the freshmen has excelled as a Key Clubber even though he has only been in it for a couple months. Not only has he enlightened the mood with his powderpuff cheerleading skills, but he attends almost all social, service, and division events. When attending, he is always eager to help. As board officers, we can see that he will bring our club to new heights and we can't wait to see what's in store. Page 20

Officer of the Month - CINDY LUU Cindy Luu always gets those digits. From service hours to the number of attendees, you name it. Even though tennis keeps her moving, she never forgets to end her weeks with a service event. You can always depend on her when you need to know about an event. She is always on the phone and easy to approach! This dedicated officer definitely deserves brownie points!
