SPORTS COACHING & DEVELOPMENT BTEC (MANCHESTER CITY) VOCATIONAL

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development is a two-year course equivalent to 3 A Levels. Structured so that students get to train with UEFA licensed coaches, students will play National and Regional fixtures on Wednesday afternoons at the Manchester Regional Sports Complex. The course will provide you with a range of opportunities to sample a wide range of specialist areas within sport and develop a range of academic and practical skills that will help you to progress into a career in the sports, health and fitness industry.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THE COURSE?

This qualification focuses primarily on progression to employment as a sports coach, but also allows you to progress to onto university courses leading to employment in the following sectors: sports coaching, sports development, sports scientist, performance analysis and PE teaching.

KEY INFORMATION

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and/or maths

LENGTH OF COURSE: Two years

ASSESSMENT: Each unit is split into several assignments graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. After completing each unit, each grade is added to a total which will give you your final grade profile
