WHAT WILL I STUDY?

On our Level 2 Travel and Tourism qualification you’ll develop your knowledge of the travel and tourism industry and learn about tourism destinations across the world. You’ll explore the role of a resort representative, learn about the events industry and discover the importance of customer service within the travel and tourism industry. You’ll also have the option to choose to study units that interest you such as Worldwide Travel and Tourism Destinations, Planning an Event, Event Review and Evaluation, Customer Service, Travel and Tourism Support Services, and Tourist Information Services. As well as studying travel and tourism in depth, you’ll also have the opportunity to experience the industry by carrying out at least one week’s work experience which may be at a travel agent, hotel, restaurant or tourist office.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THE COURSE?

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners could progress on to our Level 3 Travel and Tourism qualification or into employment in the industry. This qualification could lead into a career as a Cruise Ship Representative, Holiday Representative, Tourism Manager, Tourism Officer, Tourist Information Centre Manager, Travel Agent, Travel Agency Manager, Travel Counsellor or Visitor Centre Manager.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above

LENGTH OF COURSE: One year

ASSESSMENT: Coursework, role plays in our aircraft cabin and short tests, one of which is online
