Think of the Algarve in Southern Portugal and most people think of its endless beaches and fabulous climate, which is mild in winter and yet cooled by sea breezes in the heat of summer. However there is much more to the Algarve than just sun and sea. It has a unique charm which derives from the warmth of its people, its Moorish influence and the rich diversity of its majestic landscapes.
Portugal’s beautiful coastlines are characterised by miles of superb sandy beaches, pretty fishing villages with winding narrow streets and some of Europe’s best golf courses. Further inland you will find idyllic white-washed Moorish towns that shimmer in the sunlight over olive and orange groves and brightly coloured, verdant hillsides.
The area is home to some of Europe’s most established luxury resorts which have excellent facilities and settings. A haven for sports enthusiasts, you can enjoy all manner of activities from golfing on the championship golf courses to sailing, surfing and water-skiing to a day at the world class tennis clubs.
Flight Time: Approximately 3 hours to Faro Airport (direct from London, Manchester, Birmingham and most other regional UK airports).
Weather: A hot Mediterranean climate which is tempered by the cooling breezes of the Atlantic Ocean. During spring and summer months you can expect sunny and dry conditions. Winter months are mild but subject to rain.

Mauritius
The tropical island of Mauritius is best known for its luxury hotels on white sand beaches with volcanic mountain backdrops. It is an island for exploring, with Indian temples, colonial houses, botanical gardens, and opportunities to spot rare birds or fauna, horse ride or swim with dolphins. Mauritians are renowned for their hospitality and visitors to the islands generally wax lyrical about the service.
Plentiful water sports, world-class spas, top-class golf courses and gourmet cuisine make it hard to leave the gorgeous resorts, but Mauritius has plenty to see and do; from French colonial houses and imaginative animal parks to nature walks, quad biking, sightseeing and horse riding.
The northern regions offer the best combination of beaches, cuisine and nightlife. Further west, the capital, Port Louis, is famed for its waterfront complex of restaurants, shops and casinos, as well as the colonial-era central market.
The east coast hosts some of Mauritius’ most famous hotels and arguably the most beautiful white sand beaches, while the flat, calm beaches of the west side are favoured by families.

There’s also free green fees at nearby Anahita Golf Club.
The stunningly redesigned rooms and suites are spacious with influences from the surrounding natural beauty and culture such as local artworks, marble floors and mango wood. All the rooms enjoy breathtaking uninterrupted views of the sparkling Indian Ocean through large bay windows.
Influenced by the resort’s transformation there are plenty of contemporary and refreshing dining options from the world cuisine offerings at the main restaurant Le Bazar, to signature Kushi the Japanese and sushi restaurant overlooking the resort’s stunning lagoon. Brochure
This brochure has been carefully compiled and all reasonable steps have been taken to provide reliable and accurate information. However during the validity of this brochure certain accommodation details and facilities may change or be withdrawn by the accommodation owners or management. Such changes are beyond our control. Every reasonable effort will be made by us to advise you if any facility is not available, but we are unfortunately unable to guarantee that all facilities will be available to you during your stay. Our descriptions represent our honest view and personal opinion of the accommodations and resorts we recommend. However, we make no warranties of any kind, in relation to this brochure including, but not limited to; accuracy, implication of satisfactory quality or suitability for a particular purpose. All content is provided on an “as may be available” basis.
Passports, Visas & Vaccinations
Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements. Generally, a full ten year passport is required for travel to all destinations for British Citizens (valid for six months from your return date to the UK). Generally all children now require their own passport. If in doubt we recommend that you check with UK Passport Agency www.passport.gov.uk.
Holders of non-British Citizen passports are strongly advised to check with the relevant authorities to clarify what documents are required. In certain countries it is recommended or on occasion obligatory to have vaccinations prior to entry (particularly if travelling from an infected area). As regulations change frequently you should check with the Department of Health for the most up-to-date information. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office provides information covering all aspects of travel overseas www.fco.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo.
N.B. For air tickets the name on the passport must match the name on the ticket exactly otherwise you may not be permitted to travel.
Health & Safety
Safety standards are set by each country and therefore may not be equivalent to those of the UK and, in some cases, could be lower. We recommend that particular care and caution should be taken with regard to fire safety, balconies, lifts, stairways and swimming pools where local compliance may not be to the British Standard. Many hotels do not have lifeguards on duty and some may have signs indicating that swimming is at your own risk. Please always act responsibly, particularly with children, as the depth and design of swimming pools vary. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the accommodation safety regulations as soon as you check in.
The Department of Health leaflet ‘Advice on Health for Travellers’ is available from the department of health. Your General Practitioner can also provide up-to-date health advice and we recommend that you consult your doctor well in advance before travelling.
Disabled Clients
Travelbeam is not a specialist in proving accommodation for disabled clients. However we can give general advice about the suitability of particular properties for disabled or infirm clients or those with any special requirements. To help us ensure that any accommodation is suitable we will ask that specific information about any medical condition or disability be provided to us in writing before a booking is made. If you have serious disability, we recommend that you seek advice from a specialist tour operator.
Special Requests
Please inform us of any special requests, when you make your booking and we will make every reasonable effort to ensure that your requests are accommodated. Although, as we depend on our suppliers we cannot offer any guarantee that your requirement will be met. We cannot accept any booking that is conditional upon a special request being met.
Room Categories
Room category terminology, detailed in this brochure, have not been created by Travelbeam, but are set by each individual hotel or hotel management company. It is therefore inevitable that one hotel’s ‘Deluxe Room’ will differ to another and likewise the term ‘Ocean View’ is often used but this can mean that a room has a partial or side sea-view or full sea-view, depending upon the particular hotel.
Check-In & Check-Out
The standard international practice is to let rooms from midday to midday. However times do vary. Check-in times are usually between 2pm and 3pm, check-out times between 11am and 12 noon on the day of departure. Therefore, if you check-in immediately after a night flight this would count as one night’s accommodation.
Similarly if your return flight is at night you will normally be required to vacate your room at 12 noon prior to leaving for the airport. Day rooms are subject to availability/ cost and should be arranged locally with the hotel management. Where an early check-in or late check-out is required we highly recommend that an extra night’s accommodation is reserved at the time of booking.
Child Care
Many of the hotels we feature in this brochure offer crèche facilities, children’s clubs and baby-sitting services. The standard of these facilities varies from hotel to hotel and we cannot offer any guarantees that recognised qualifications are held or that staff used are English speaking. Crèches and children’s
clubs featured in this brochure are under the control of the hotel’s management and we do not accept any responsibility for the health, safety or welfare of any child whilst using these facilities. Please note that not all of these facilities and clubs are free or supervised and their operation may be subject to demand or minimum/ maximum numbers.
Dress Code
Most luxury hotels expect guests to dress appropriately, in general casual attire during the day and smart casual in the evenings is acceptable. In some of the finer hotel restaurants a jacket and tie is required and during Gala events at special times of the year a dinner jacket may also be required.
