Racers are you ready...? The 8th annual Legends Classic will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Hosted by the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame & Museum in conjunction with Mont Tremblant Ski Resort and Le Club de Ski Mont Tremblant, it’s a Giant Slalom open to skiers of all levels: Juniors (7 – 17), Adults (18 – 59) and Legends (60 –90 +). The race will take place on Tremblant’s McCulloch south-side trail.

When asked if he is registering for the race, Bill Gordon (age 91) responded, “Yes. I can’t wait. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in in years.” A new category was created in 2020: Legends 90 +; it featured three registered racers.

The Charron family will be on hand at the Place des Voyageurs to present the André Charron Trophy, awarded to those posting the best male and female times of the day. (André Charron was a former owner of Mont Tremblant.) The awards ceremony gets underway at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

The Legends Classic originated in 2014 in celebration of Tremblant’s 75th Anniversary. It featured racers dressed in vintage outfits, including belle-époque racoon coats, plusfours, laced boots, wooden 210 cm skis and bamboo poles.

If you are unable to race and would like to participate as a volunteer, please let the organizers know at: legendsclassic@skimuseum.ca

The full amount of the $35 registration fee will go to support the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame & Museum. For more details and to register for the race, visit: skimuseum.ca/events
