Heights House Hotel How does a weekend stay in one of America's coolest new hotels sound? Opened in 2021, Heights House Hotel—born from a completely revitalized pre-Civil War-era mansion in downtown Raleigh—is a 10,000-squarefoot, Italianate-style home that provides nine incredibly gorgeous guest suites. Hardwood floors, cozy fireplaces and grand common spaces with immaculate decor undoubtedly make this one of the Tar Heel State's most unique getaways. In 2022, The Parlor at Heights House— an intimate cocktail bar with an Italian-inspired wine list, craft cocktails and local beers—opened to the public and allows for exploring the hotel's common spaces (reservations can be made and are required for groups of more than four). Named for its location within Raleigh's historic Boylan Heights neighborhood and originally built in 1858, the two-story home was purchased by Raleigh residents Jeff and Sarah Shepherd in 2018, and have since meticulously restored, renovated and redesigned the interior of the hotel while maintaining the integrity of the original architecture. Dutch Art in a Global Age presents highlights from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, with an innovative focus. Arranged thematically, the exhibition explores the intersections among Dutch art, commercial networks, and colonial expansion in the seventeenth century. The show concludes with beautiful objects in silver and ceramic and depictions of daily life, demonstrating the coexistence of the familiar and the foreign—a world we still inhabit. The presentation features paintings by Rembrandt, Frans Hals, Gerrit Dou, Jacob van Ruisdael, Rachel Ruysch, and other celebrated artists. If desired, add honey to taste for sweetness. Allow the tea to cool slightly before sipping to soothe a sore throat or alleviate cold and flu symptoms. Drink 2-3 cups of this spiced tea throughout the day for maximum benefits.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and allow the herbs to steep for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the tea into a cup or mug. If desired, add honey to taste for sweetness. Sip on this herbal blend while it's warm to ease congestion, calm inflamed throat, and induce relaxation. Repeat 23 times a day until cold or flu symptoms subside.
