Message from Governor Bob Harper Our May meeting features Michael Patch with a program on Architecture Photography. Michael is a member of the Northern District and he is known for his excellent architectural photography. This program will be great! In June, we will have Lezandra Persinger, a boudoir photographer from Virginia Beach. And, we will look forward to our Summer Social in July. Our VPPA Summer Seminar will be in Fredericksburg, August 20-22, with a Ben Shirk Workshop from August 23-25. Ben Shirk is one of our most renowned photographers and recently won third place in the World Cup. He is a master of the composite image, so his workshop promises to be a game changer. Again, I encourage all to help our organization grow. Invite prospective new members to attend our meetings and let me know if you have ideas for programs you would like to have presented. Bob,

May 16, 2016, Meeting Anne Companion will host the May 16 meeting at her studio 112 Kings Way, Hampton, 757-630-5860. This meeting includes a Real Estate Photography Class which begins at 2:00PM. We will meet at the studio and walk to a nearby house that a realtor is letting us
use for the class. We'll be there until about 5pm, break for dinner, and then meet at 6:30PM for the meeting at the studio. Social hour begins at 6:30. Meeting begins at 7:30. Real Estate Photography Class Summary: Photography has never been more important to selling real estate than it is today. Real estate images on the internet provide the first impression for most home buyers. In addition to marketing the house, these images also serve as marketing for the agent. If you are interested in learning about Real Estate Photography, this class will demonstrate the process from photographing the house to processing the images using Lightroom, Photoshop, and selected plugins. Beginning with a camera, one flash and tripod, you will see demonstrations of good, better and best techniques along with equipment needed to make these images. The time will conclude with helpful tips, suggestions for marketing and pricing, and resources for continued learning.
