The explosion of subcompact and microcompact conceal carry pistols entering the market presents challenges for consumers who are considering illumination accessories for their firearms. To begin, the majority of all subcompact and micro-compact frames lack accessory rails so manufacturers were left to work with trigger guard attachment - true for most subcompact and micro-compact platforms. Although adequate for light only weapon mounted accessories, without a mounting rail there is no way to stabilize a light/laser accessory to mitigate the risk of laser misalignment. So, a shooter could notice a slight misalignment of the aiming laser just from normal day to day holstering. I’m not pointing out a manufacturing defect but one can only do so much given the platform’s lack of a mounting rail. Enter SIG’s P365 family. Sig designers had on their thinking caps when they included longitudinal mounting rails as part of the P365 frame. Streamlight capitalized on that specific architecture and introduced a

Streamlight TLR-6 SIG SAUER P365 Streamlight’s designers knocked it out of the ballpark when they separated the LED/laser module from its shell. This made it possible for the company to respond to many of the compact pistols entering the market. Using this approach, the light or light/laser module can be enclosed in an assortment of “shells” molded to fit specific pistols and models. Very simply, it’s equivalent to you having a variety of jackets to wear. The TLR-6 delivers 100 lumens of well collimated light with a well-defined hotspot and an abundance of peripheral lighting. Streamlight offers two configurations of its TLR6, one light/laser model and a light only model. If you opt for the light/laser combination, you’ll be able to adjust the aiming laser for windage and elevation. Once zeroed, the P365’s mounting rails prevent even the slightest lateral movement, so your laser remains zeroed. Runtime1 is also excellent, at 60 minutes on (2) 3 Volt CR-1/3N lithium coin batteries. Battery replacement is toolless and can be accomplished without dismounting the light from the firearm.
