“Try to separate your ‘wants’ from your ‘needs,’ “ says Samantha Goldberg, owner of Gold Events Planning, in Bridgewater, New Jersey. “The ‘needs’ list What’s the Rush? consists of the items you have to have to make your special day work, such as a good photographer and an affordable venue, while the ‘wants’ are the Sure, you’re excited when you get engaged, but don’t act impulsively, says items you get after the ‘needs’ are acquired (such as ornate centerpieces or Cathy Johnson of Cathy Johnson Weddings, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. customized favors).” “So many brides rush out and start putting down deposits without thinking through the logistics of what goes into planning a memorable day,” she says. Know Your Budget Really, Really Well “I advise the bride and groom to let it all sink in and wait for a few weeks after they get engaged. Then start.” “Do not spend a dime or book a single service until the two of you have thoroughly worked out your budget,” says Jean Picard of Jean Picard WedGet the Big Picture ding Consulting, based in Santa Barbara, California. “This is where a couple can go wrong early in the game and never recover. 3 Be True to Yourself
Personalize
“I tell brides that when they are offered suggestions that they aren’t too keen on, they should politely say, ‘That’s an interesting idea,’ and then go ahead with what they really want to do,” says Cindy Clearwater of SunCelebrations, in St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
“Special touches are always memorable,” says Julie Pryor, owner of Pryor Events, based in West Los Angeles. The amount of money you spend is really less important than the thought and care that go into your choice of details. Flowers from a neighbor’s garden, heirloom family pictures on display, family recipes used for the menu — all of these things will make your wedding stand out.
Don’t Overthink
“Once you make a decision, don’t go back and rethink it over and over Watch Your Due Dates again,” says Sasha Souza, a California-based event planner. “I think that leads to bridal craziness. I understand that it may be hard to make a decision, but “Carefully watch cut-off and final payment due dates, and schedule RSVP once it’s made, check it off the list and quickly move on to the next thing.” returns for at least two weeks prior to those dates,” says Geri Simpson, wedding consultant and owner of G. Simpson and Associates, LLC, based in Don’t Be a Superwoman Opelousas, Louisiana. “That way you will have an accurate headcount and can adjust those numbers before a payment is due.” “Brides often get this idea that they can do everything,” says Terrica R. Skaggs, a wedding and event designer based in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Orchestrate “They’ll say, ‘it’s cheaper’ or ‘it’s more fun if I do it myself.’ But it takes over 240 hours to plan a wedding, so get plenty of help from family, friends or a Seven to 10 days before the wedding, call your vendors to confirm details. wedding planner.” Give everyone a timeline of the day. The biggest mistake is leaving any of this to chance, warns Emilie Duncan, a professional wedding consultant in Make it Legal Columbus, Ohio. “One of the most important pieces of advice we give to all of our couples, especially when they’re intending to marry in a foreign country, is to make the legal paperwork the first priority,” says Stephanie Skiba de Garcia, destination wedding planner and owner of Cozumel Wedding Planner, in Cozumel, Mexico. “The best suggestion we can offer is to get all of those requirements handled and out of the way in the beginning,” she says. “They’re tedious but necessary. But after that, you can focus on the fun parts of the engagement process.”
Take a Break
“If things get too tough, give yourself some time out,” says Duncan. “Walk away for a day, a week or even just go out with your groom-to-be for an evening. Trust me, your wedding planning will be there when you go back to it, and your relationship will be better off in the long run if you take care not to overload yourself or him.” Manage Your Emotions
“There should be a side-effects warning when you take on the role of organizing the biggest event of your life,” says Sarah Lusardi, a wedding planner and owner of NY Engagements, LLC, in Westchester, New York. “It’s easy to

Wedding Planner 2019 get sucked into the ‘bridezilla’ zone, where you start sweating bullets over the smallest things that normally you wouldn’t think twice about. Keep a check on your character, and think about the consequences of burning bridges, carrying grudges and thinking ill thoughts when things are not going as smoothly as you want them to.” Have a Blast! Far too many brides wish they’d spent less time worrying and more time having fun. “My advice is to be in the moment,” says Isha Foss, wedding consultant and owner of Isha Foss Events, in Chesapeake, Virginia. “The day goes by so quickly, and you really want to be there, emotionally. So try not to check every detail — like whether the napkins are the exact shade that you wanted and folded just the way you requested. Instead, take in the whole reception, and enjoy the people who are there to celebrate your day with you. Remember: Guests are only as comfortable and as happy as their hosts.”
How to Pick a Wedding Ring There’s so much talk about engagement rings that sometimes, wedding rings don’t seem to get the attention that they deserve. After all, a wedding ring will be worn every single day for the rest of your life! It signifies the greatest commitment that you have made and is a enduring visible symbol of your marriage. Throughout history, wedding rings have symbolised love, loyalty and faithfulness. This tradition springs from ancient times and is widely found in almost every culture. Wedding rings are often considered a sacred piece of jewelry that is highly valued. When buying a wedding ring, the approach is quite different to an engagement ring. Most couples buy their wedding ring together and there is no element of surprise attached to this. It is a sensible, practical decision that is made by both parties. What’s more, often it is the most important piece of jewelry that you both will buy together and is an exhibition of your love, style, personality and values. Let Adam and Melinda Hadlock at Wild Mountain Fine Jewelers help you pick that perfect ring.

The best time to get your teeth cleaned and whitened before your wedding Most brides meticulously plan their weddings down to the finest details. Whether it’s the dress, décor, cake or cuisine, everything is chosen with great care to create flawless celebrations that reflect unique tastes. These days, timely teeth whitening treatments are also becoming an increasingly popular part of the preparation process. If you’d like to brighten your smile before your big day, here’s what you should know. Which Whitening Techniques Work Best? Countless companies market all sorts of over-the-counter products that make big claims about their whitening capabilities. Most of these use hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to bleach stains that can accumulate on the outer layer of a tooth’s enamel. According to Consumer Reports, these products can do a decent job of lightening stains caused by cigarette smoking or heavily pigmented foods. However, over-the-counter teeth whitening treatments are not as effective as professional whitening treatments. If you get a professional whitening treatment at a dentist’s office, you will have custom trays made to fit your teeth, which will provide more uniform results as well as protection for your gums. Professional whitening gel contains carbamide peroxide and is stronger than at-home bleaching agents. During a whitening procedure, the trays are worn for varying amounts of time depending on a number of factors including strength of the whitening agent and severity of the stains. Some dentists also provide laser whitening treatments that take about 30 minutes. With these treatments, a gel is applied to the teeth and then activated by a laser. The dentist will then leave the solution on for a few extra minutes before removing it. He or she may offer to repeat the process until you are satisfied with the results. When to Whiten Whatever whitening treatment you choose, it’s best to plan ahead, so your teeth will be whitest on your wedding day. If you choose over-the-counter lightening gels, strips or gel-filled trays, you will typically need up to 14 days to see any results. You may want to start much earlier, however, in case you don’t get the results you hoped for. While some professional whitening treatments can be administered in one session, it’s important to make arrangements with your dentist, so you can be sure you are able to get in for an appointment. Generally, it’s best to wait until a couple of weeks before your wedding, so you can be sure your teeth will be at their whitest. If you must get your treatment early on, be sure to avoid heavily pigmented foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, cola and red wine, since research has shown that these can all stain teeth after whitening treatments. If you are unable to completely avoid stain-causing beverages, you can curb their discoloring effects by drinking through a straw.

Selecting a comfortable wedding gown Many brides-to-be visit bridal shops with specific goals in mind regarding the style of their wedding gowns. Some women come equipped with magazine tear-outs or pull up ideas on their mobile phones. Others may have an entire scrapbook filled with various ideas they’ve been compiling for years. Much consideration is given to wedding gowns. The cost and silhouette of the dress may garner the bulk of that consideration, but brides might want to spend more time considering comfort. Depending on the time of day their wedding take place, brides can spend 12 hours or more in their wedding gowns on their wedding day. However, when shopping for their gowns, brides may prioritize beauty over comfort, even though it’s entirely possible to find a gown that’s both stunning and comfortable. When staff and friends or family who have come along to offer advice start to blush over wedding gowns, brides-to-be may feel pressured to downplay any discomfort they feel.To make sure brides look flawless and elegant but are still comfortable in their wedding gowns, consider the following tips. Know what to highlight and what to cover up. No two body types are the same, and many women feel certain parts of their bodies are their best assets while they want to downplay others. Try on gowns that play up your best features. If you have shapely legs, consider a dramatic gown with a slit to show them off. Certain gowns can enhance the decollete or show off an hourglass shape. Remember, many gowns can be modified so that you feel secure and confident. Sleeves can be added or fabric placed to cover up any perceived flaws. Confidence and pride are important parts of the comfort factor. Get sized correctly. Bridal gown sizes do not coincide with street sizes. Depending on the manufacturer, brides may have to select gowns that are several sizes larger than they would normally wear. This should not be cause for alarm. Brides should go by their measurements. Attempting to squeeze into a dress that is too small will only lead to discomfort on the wedding day. Purchase the right undergarments. Improperly fitting bras, shapewear and other undergarments can lead to discomfort as well. Some seamstresses can sew in supportive cups to remove the need for separate bras. Brides can

explore various options to reduce the visibility of certain accouterments. I Move around in the gown. Brides should not just stand in front of theh mirror and smile when trying on gowns. Put them through their paces. Tryo sitting, bending and even a little dancing. Make sure the dress is comfortablep to move around in. M Try different options. The gown brides have in mind may not be the oneh they ultimately go home with. Explore different styles and materials. f Choose cooler, breezier fabrics and lightweight gowns, like crepe, georgetteo or organza, for summer weddings. Heavier fabrics, such as brocade, may bem more comfortable in the winter. T Wedding gowns can be both beautiful and comfortable for those who knoww how to shop. S

Bridal Botox: how to get a picture-perfect wedding Day
Getting married soon and thinking about getting Botox for your wedding? We asked SISU’s expert aesthetic doctors to give us a game plan for the safest, most beneficial way of getting Botox before your wedding day. Why are so many brides (and now grooms) getting Botox before their weddings? This is something many of those who have already had a wedding will have experienced, and it’s a common, sad story: You put months of planning and considerable amounts of money, stress, and tears into planning the perfect wedding. Your friends and family gather from all over to celebrate your marriage. You’re a knockout in your dress. The flowers are stunning. The food is amazing. The cake is breathtaking. The champagne is a huge hit. The music has everyone on their feet. You put everything you had into your wedding and it’s everything you dreamed it would be. Then you get the photos back.
In the age of Facebook and selfies, there’s no wait for the visual evidence of how you looked on your wedding day. It’s all there online, instantly – and often with a customized wedding hashtag so that everyone can see every picture of you on the happiest day of your life. #NoPressure or anything! Many a wife and husband (not to mention bridesmaids and wedding guests) have cringed at the sight of themselves in these photos. Posing for the professional photographer allows you to be somewhat composed and conscious of your ‘angles.’ The candids all your loved ones will be taking with their mobiles will be unforgiving. This is an experience that can make wedding memories in an irreversible way. As many brides (and their grooms) realize all too well, Botox and other SISU treatments are a way to ensure a picture-perfect big day.
