We’re open! It is hard to believe that it has already been two months since the grand opening of the new expansion. There is so much to see and do here at the library. Come and relax in the bright and cozy adult space. Take a class on infant massage on October 17 and 24 at 6:00 pm. Brush up on your Spanish with the Spanish Language Circle on October 25 at 6:30 pm. Get in the Halloween spirit with a jack-o’-lantern contest on October 26 starting at 7 pm. Or listen to Nicole Bingaman who is visiting the library to discuss traumatic brain injury and the emotional impact on family for a program called Love Wins on November 3 at 6:30 pm. Have teens? Check out the Anime Club, Zombie Bootcamp and Mugsgivings! Read about all of the teen programs happening in the new teen space on the next page. Many local organizations, financial institutions and community members supported this expansion. Major contributors include: Mifflinburg Bank and Trust, Degenstein Foundation, Swineford National Bank, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Dr. and Mrs. Darrup, CDBG Grant, and through a grant by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Department of Education with funds provided from the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund. There are still naming opportunities available. Available opportunities include the teen space, community meeting room, adult book room, bookshelf/circulation areas and individual shelves. For more information, visit Herr Memorial Library at 500 Market Street in Mifflinburg or call 570-966-0831.
