Expanding Online Services Starting October 1, the Union County Library System is offering free access to digital magazines through Zinio. Zinio offers a large collection of popular magazine titles with unlimited simultaneous access. No holds, no late fees and the best part is the magazines can be downloaded indefinitely to your Zinio account. You can read online in any web browser or you can read through the free app on your mobile device. To take advantage of this new online service: - Live within Union County - Have a valid library card and pin number. (If you need your pin number, call or visit the library) - Sign Up for a Zinio Account Mango Languages is now available at all library locations. Mango offers access to 60 foreign language courses and 17 English courses taught completely in the user’s native language. To learn more about Mango, stop by the library and ask a librarian for an introduction. Library card holders can access Mango through the library website by clicking on the Mango icon. Stay informed on all library happenings! Link up with us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram!
What’s Going On? If you have been in the adult non-fiction section of the library lately, then you have noticed a change. The library is in the process of weeding the collection of non-useful or outdated titles in order to make room for new items. As part of the weeding process the shelves will be lowered for easy accessibility and better lighting. The goal of this project is to help you rediscover current resources and to maintain a collection of currently useful items.

A call from the president... Throughout the course of my tenure as President of the Board of Trustees for the Public Library for Union County, I have encouraged all of you to come and visit us at our location on Reitz Boulevard in Brookpark Farm. Today, I’m writing to encourage you to stay home. No need to get dressed or to gather the kids up into the family vehicle. Showering is optional too! I’m happy to announce that we are continuing to respond to the proliferation of online content with some really exciting new online services of our own. Hoopla is a service similar to Netflix in that you can download and watch movies, television shows and other video content. Unlike Netflix, however, you can also access a huge library of audio books and music. For those of you who are magazine enthusiasts, Zinio is a unique service for you to download these publications onto your PC, Mac, tablets or smart phones. If you’re like me, I’m excited to no longer have stacks of unread magazines lying around my house!
Mango Languages is a service we’ve added to all 3 Union County Library System locations that offers our patrons access to an easy-to-use language learning service. Es divertido! All of these services can be accessed via our website, www. publibuc.org and are free to use with your library card. Our professional staff are also happy to assist you by phone or in the library if you would like assistance. Thank you for your continued support of our cherished library. We hope that you take advantage of the resources we’re offering and that you will also continue to help us fund these valuable services with a tax exempt charitable contribution. We’ll see you online!
