PROCESS CONSTRUCTING A TWO PIECE SLEEVE WITH A MOCK VENT

1. Assemble all pieces required for this procedure. Lay sleeves in a pair.

5. Lay the sleeve on the machine with the mitred corner visable.

2. Sew the forearm seam together with a 1cm seam allowance.

6. Fold the mitred corner back on itself ready to sew. Sew the mitred corner finishing 1cm back from the end of the seam.

3. Press the seam open. 4. Press the hem and vent up into position.

7. At the underarm hem, fold back the vent seam allowance. Finish sewing 1cm back from the edge.

8. Clip the corner at the mitre, open the seam and turn through. At the opposite end, fold the seam allowance in and turn through.

11. Sew the hindarm seam with a 1cm seam allowance. Finish sewing at the top of the vent as indicated by the drill hole on the sleeve pattern.

9. Press the mitred corner.

12. Clip the undersleeve seam allowance at the top of the vent to allow the seam to sit open.

10. At the opposite end to the mitre, clip into the seam allowance of the vent to allow the seam to lie flat. Press the vent.

13. Press the seam open then turn the sleeve through to the right side. 14. Now you are ready to buttonhole your vent.
