1. Assemble all pieces needed for this procedure.

2. Sew undercollar pieces together at the centre back seam with a 1cm seam allowance.

3. Press the seam open.

4. Sew the under collar and stand together with a 1cm seam allowance.

5. Ease the stand around the curve of the collar.

Continue sewing.

6. Snip around the curve of the collar.

7. Snip small V’s around the curve of the stand to allow the seam to lie flat.

8. From the right side of the fabric, edgestitch on each side of the seam.

12. Finish by edgestitching the top collar seam open.

9. Ensure seams are held open as you sew.

13. Press both pieces of the collar retaining the shape created by the seams.

10. Repeat process as for undercollar by sewing the top collar to the stand.

11. Clip the seams.

14. You are now ready to attach your undercollar to your jacket.
