PROCESS FINISHING THE LINING AT THE HEM AND FACING

1. Where the facing meets the lining at the hem, align the lining hem with the fabric hem of the jacket. Sew the lining to the jacket hem, finish stitiching at the side seam.

4. Stitch the remainder of the facing and lining seam from the edge of the hem up to meet the lining/facing stitch line.

2. Where the facing meets the hem allowance, clip into the corner at a diagonal. Make sure you cut right up to the stitching but do not cut the stitching.

5. As you do this, fold any excess lining to create a tuck in the lining.

3. Fold the hem back on itself.

6. Clip the seam allowance just above the bottom of the facing to allow it to lie open. 7. Turn through to right side and check for accuracy. Lightly press.
