Textures Using Manual mode for this specific category taught me a lot. I never realized how different manual was until I actually started using it on my own. It was a little difficult at first, especially for textures because I had to get really close to a lot of objects and it took a little more time to focus and capture the moment, but it all worked out.
Black & White I feel like you can only make certain photos black and white. I mean yeah you can simply make any photo black and white, but it doesn’t look good on everything. Black and white is more of an emotional appeal. I made one of the photos from Lyndsey’s photoshoot black and white and it does not look the same. Making photos black and white can simply add, or take away from a photo.
Angles Angles were always something I needed more practice on. For this subject, I thought I would include photos from my very first photoshoot and compare recent photos using angles. The first few photos are previous photos form the past while the others were taken more recently.
Rule of Thirds The rule of thirds is applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear feautres in the image to flow from section to section. This was also another category I needed practice with. I learned that you never want the object or person directly in the center of the photo. Last night I took photos at the University High Scool Senior Awards. It was a very different atmosphere and a great experience.
