to The Point Lets just get the point. Ask any student What they like about Xavier, It wont be the comfy desks, The large modernized campus, Or the brand new theater, Because we don’t have any of that. They responded instead, With the simple facts. The sensitive fire alarms that keep us on our toes. If we hate a class, we only have it for the year. We don’t have to walk a marathon between periods. There are always some type of free food flying around campus. Is it even possible to get a shady parking spot? Is there a club that the Ariel isn’t a part of? If we were only 30 minutes late, Did we still need a yellow slip? We don’t have all the answers, But we do have some. You will step in the puddle outside 1A at least once. The lunchtime police officer can arrest you. All of the golf cart’s go a lot faster than we think. After 30 minutes, we do need a late slip. We are the scholars and farmers, Hipsters and actors, That make up what we call Xavier. And no one knows it better than we do.

A Year for the record books With a season like this, there will be many more good things to come. By: Alexis Thomson The roar of the crowd filled the air as the last seconds of the regional championship ticked down, the varsity team with the win in their grasp. “We worked harder than anyone else this season,” senior Austin Butler said. “I’m proud of the team and how far we got.” With the team-starting out the season with 0 losses, the team boomed with enthusiasm with what was yet to come. Then, with there win against the East High Wildcats, the team’s attitude rumbled even louder, even though talk from other schools still doubted their ability to continue this winning season. “All we really could do at that time was believe in ourselves, and have faith in the team,” junior Paul Rudd said. Following their win against East High, the team went on to win four more games, and landed a spot
in the district’s game. “It’s not about how we started our season as a team, its about how we played and how we are going to finish,” senior Logan Lerman said. After the districts win, the team went to play in the regional game against the Dillon Panthers, where they played their final game of the season. “Even though everyone outside our community doubted us, we still managed to become the district champions, which has never happened to our school for football,” senior James Bond said. “We had a strong team this season; we came together as brothers and stuck together as one team throughout the season. We remained together through an unforgettable season with amazing wins.” This season was truly a year for the record books.
JUNIOR VARSITY As the team makes there way to the field with high hopes and great confidence, the only things going through their minds is how the can put everything on the field and win this game for themselves and the school. “Seeing the green grass underneath my cleats before a big game always makes my nerves calm and my senses to relax because I know that i will always put my best out on that field,” junior Seth Glomb said. This junior varisty team has had more wins than any other junior varsity team in school history. “I love seeing the way the crowd lights up whenever we get a first down or an amazing touch down, it never ceases to amaze me on how much they care about this team.”

Powerful Players
To start the year off right, the student section comes to support for the first game of the season. “I have been going to these football games since freshman year and I still love coming to show my spirit,” senior Tabatha Long said.
No matter how tall or how skinny, there is a spot for almost everyone on this team no matter what they might look like. “I love seeing the junior varisty boys come up and feel what it is really like to play in a varisty game, what the crowd is like and how everything changes when you step onto the field,” senior Frank Sinatra said.
Carrying the ball all the way down the field with countless people trying to catch up to and tackle you can give anyone an adrenaline rush. “I started playing football in third grade and i have never loved football more than when I come out to play on Friday nights with this incredible team,” sophomore Eric Foreman said.
Standing in formation before a very big play can be nerveracking, the not knowing of wheter there will be a good outcome from it could scare anybody. “Right after the ball snaps all I can think about is how fast I am going to run to get up the field and catch the ball,” junior David Schimmer said.

Keeping the ball close to his chest as possible, sophomore Jaden Cole keeps running until he is forced down by the other team. “Playing football has allowed me to really show just how much I love the game.”
