PATIENT CARE

Leaders and clinicians in the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care are world-class leaders in evidence-based practice (EBP) and implementation. The new second edition of the awardwinning Evidence-Based Practice in Action builds on the Iowa Model and Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework to promote excellence in health care. Advanced EBP training, internship, and change champion programs mentor internal and external clinicians to create and sustain evidence-based improvements, such as four-eyes skin assessment to reduce hospital-acquired pressure injuries in UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital operating rooms. Held annually, the 29th National EBP Conference featured breaking EBP and research from across the globe.
