Course description
Head of Art at Exeter Junior School with a specialism in teaching English and Geography.

In this workshop, the children will explore a selection of Henri Rousseau’s paintings and discover the key features of tropical rainforests, culminating in their own mixed media rainforest collage. By carefully looking at the artwork, they will identify the layers of the rainforest and look closely at the wonderful variety of leaves and flowers.They will spend time sketching closely and experiment with colours and shapes.They will then create a pastel and watercolour background for their mixed media collage. Through further discussion and creative activities, they will look at rainforest locations and discover some of the animals living in these complex ecosystems.They will then focus on the animal’s shapes, colours, and patterns to add
