Course description

This brand new course is designed to enable young children to learn how to carry out investigations in a scientific way, including setting up, observing, measuring, recording etc.

We will carry out an investigation as a class and the children will then, using the skills we have learnt, conduct their own individual investigations in small groups and we can all share in the fun! No detailed scientific knowledge is required – just an enquiring mind.

This course is in line with the requirements laid out by the LowerYears KS2 National Curriculum programme of study and will provide a good base for the rest of KS2 and beyond.

• A laboratory coat will be supplied. Please ensure long hair is tied back.

Who is this course suitable for?

This new course is designed to show young children how we set up and conduct scientific investigations. No detailed scientific knowledge is required – just an enquiring mind! This course is suitable for any child with average reading and numeracy levels for years 3/4.
