Spring term 2023: 2nd – 14th March

Key Stage 2: Years 3 – 6

Welcome

I am delighted to introduce the University of Exeter’s Primary Enrichment Outreach Programme for Spring 2023.

This prospectus outlines the exciting and comprehensive range of activities that we offer across Key Stage 2, from Years 3 to 6.

Our Outreach Programme was first established in 2007 and in that time we have brought together the knowledge, expertise and experience of our associate lecturers and local artists to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences.

Our programme aims to encourage and develop the progression, attainment and aspiration of school-age pupils and is specifically aimed at engaging pupils who demonstrate a particular interest, skill or potential in a specific subject area. Our hope is that pupils further their passion and understanding for their subject; feel inspired by practical, hands-on activities and meet like-minded peers, all within the context of a Higher Education setting.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Our pupils

We welcome Key Stage 2 children from all backgrounds, from state education to home schooling, and in particular those children who demonstrate a particular interest or aptitude for a subject. We are committed to supporting children from disadvantaged or under-represented groups, and are therefore pleased to offer two free places per term to every child from a low income or Pupil Premium background. Please contact us to apply for a place.

Pupil safety

All members of the Primary Enrichment Outreach team hold an enhanced DBS certificate and all University of Exeter students participating in events are supervised by a member of our team. All activities held at the university undergo a risk assessment before they take place, and we have fully trained first aiders on site.

School absence

If attending this course means that your child will be missing school, please follow their absence procedures. Authorised absence can not be assumed.

How to book

Courses are £35 each (unless otherwise stated), with free places available to those from low income or Pupil Premium backgrounds. To book a place please visit our website and follow the link to our online store: exeter.ac.uk/socialsciences/ education/enrichment
