Immigration advice

Our International Student Support Advisers are here to help you throughout your journey with us; from advice before you arrive to information about moving to the UK or support with your application or enrolment. Whatever your question, you can contact us through our online drop-in sessions or arrange to see us on campus.

The Immigration Service is based within the International Office. The team provides immigration advice and support to international students. We run regular drop-in sessions and also provide support via email. Our trained immigration advisers are experienced in guiding international students, and their dependants, of all nationalities through the application process for Student and other study related visas. We are committed to providing a high quality service so that your immigration queries can be resolved quickly, allowing you to focus on your studies.

The Learning Innovation and Development Centre (LIDC) works to help international Huddersfield Business School students engage with their studies and achieve their full academic potential. The LIDC team provides a range of free support programmes for all international undergraduate and taught postgraduate Huddersfield Business School students. You are timetabled for a weekly class in which your tutor will help you to adapt to studying at the University, understand what your lecturers expect from you and apply your learning to assignments. In these sessions, the LIDC team will support you to: Structure assignments and dissertation in the best way to achieve the highest grades possible. Understand the University’s systems to research information and use in assignments. Use information from research effectively in assignments. Develop the confidence to speak in groups, within seminars and presentations. Develop ways of showing critical thinking and analysis in assignments. Learn techniques for greater exam confidence. Develop revision study techniques.

In addition, all Huddersfield Business School students have the opportunity to meet each other in a social setting at Bud in Hud. This programme provides you with a regular opportunity for social and cultural activities. Support is also available to students from all our academic schools. This includes a wide range of online study resources and through your Academic Skills Tutor, who can offer support and guidance and help you develop the skills you need to succeed.
