We’d like to introduce some of the more recent additions to the campus:

To achieve great things at university, you don’t just need inspirational teaching. Top class facilities and resources help too. We’ve invested £156 million in some exciting new buildings to make our campus a great place to be.

1. Barbara Hepworth Building 4

Opened Autumn 2019 – £30m This is the new home for the study of art, design and architecture at the University. An exciting hub of collaborative creative studios and technology facilities, it brings digital and physical innovation together in one space.

2. Joseph Prestley Building

Huddersfield’s proud industrial heritage is evident on campus, with beautifully converted stone mills and a working canal. But thanks to our ongoing investment, there are plenty of impressive 21st Century buildings too.

Completed 2018 to 2019 – £31m This refurbishment and extension provides specialist modern teaching, workshop and laboratory facilities for science subjects. The development also provides an excellent student hub and social space.

4. Student Central Opened 2014 – £22.5m The hub of campus life. This massive building brings sports, library, leisure and learning into one buzzing and vibrant facility.

5. 3M Buckley Innovation Centre

Opened 2013 – £12m This is where the University and businesses really come together. It’s a unique place that encourages new businesses to get off the ground. So if you’ve got entrepreneurial spirit, this could be where it all starts.

3. Oastler Building Opened 2017 – £27.5m This impressive building takes lectures and classrooms into the future, with innovative space and facilities for law and humanities students.

Opened 2010 – £17m One of the greenest buildings on campus, the Charles Sikes Building offers contemporary classrooms, space to study and socialise, computer rooms, and a coffee shop for our business students.

7. Richard Steinitz Building

Opened 2008 – £16m A truly inspiring place to study, this building features stunning architecture and impressive green credentials.
