Cooper Landing Community Club We look forward to our holiday season before us and hope everyone has begun to recuperate from our busy summer! At our last Community Club Meeting our first test run of the OWL conference meeting equipment was successful. It is now available to our local Community Club affiliated organizations to use for their meetings. We have directions on setting it up and how to use it available. Please note, it must be reserved in advance. Non-local user groups may rent it for $40 per day and are required to include a deposit. We are grateful to the Kenai Community Foundation for supplying us the grant to purchase this equipment and allowing for our hybrid online and in person hall meetings to run much more efficiently. We’d like to thank the Cooper Landing Senior Citizen Corporation and all of the volunteers for their fall clean up efforts as well as their continued weekly cleanup. Many many thanks to the Soup Supper Committee and all of the wonderful community members who volunteered their time and efforts to help bring back the Soup Supper to benefit CLES in September. The amount and variety of delicious soups served was amazing. Thanks also to Alaska Wildland Adventures for their generous donation during this beloved event. We would also like to congratulate Adam Synder, winner of the Cooper Landing Chamber of Commerce Raffle on behalf of our CL Youth Group and Dan Michels & Kristen Helgren, winners of the 6th annual CL Best Wood Pile Contest, sponsored by Craig Taylor of Soldotna. It is that time again to update our local directory! We have an RFP out for graphic design services. Proposals are due November 10th. y a d i l o H Swags
Cooper Landing School Fundraiser Support Cooper Landing School Students by purchasing a Holiday Swag. The suspended spruce boughs are twined together then adorned with handmade bows, spruce cones, and ornaments. Swags are made entirely by students and staff. All funds raised support the student activity fund. History of the Swag The swag fundraiser was started by Joyce Koppert, former teacher at Cooper Landing School. She thought of the idea when she was living in Oregon and was helping her niece and nephew come up with ideas for Christmas presents. The swag shape was chosen because it was easier to make compared to a circular wreath. Since then, it has become our school’s tradition. Every November, we dedicated a day to assembling the swags. How to Order Call or email Cooper Landing School to place your order. Prices are $25 each. You do not need to pre-pay. Once the swags are ready, we will notify you by email or phone. Thank you for your generous support of Cooper Landing School!

Cooper Landing Lynx News
The month of October was filled with lots of fun and excitement. Everyone’s costumes were great, we had a pumpkin head, Mario,a pirate, and much much more. We would also like to thank everyone who volunteered to hand out candy on the Cooper Landing Trick or Treat list, it means a lot to all of us kids, you are all around wonderful people! The 3-4, 5-6, middle school, and high school teams are so excited for this year’s Battle of the Books competition, they have been reading non-stop. We have a team in all categories! This year the 8th graders, Sydney and Athena, are moving up to the high school team. Cooper Landing is ready to take home the win! The kids at school are all very excited to play, but since it could snow any day they have been getting all the time outside they can get playing mouse on ground, soccer, and kick ball on the playground in the field. Ms. Krissy, our teacher, has found a fun way to prepare the kids for the history/science test. She has used the games Jeopardy and Cranium and formatted them into a history game that all the kids love! Over all, the month of october was packed with tons of fun.
