Merry Christmas!

We are starting our winter with crazy weather. Hopefully we will keep our snow for a white Christmas.

The deadline for renewing your membership has passed but we are still working on the Upper Kenai River Guide, so if you want to renew the advertisement it means renewing your membership. We are close to finalizing. The deadline is the 15th of the month. Last call!!!!

Name the Snowman Contest:

The community has a new member, the snowman in front of Wildman’s. But our snowman needs a name. Submit your name ideas to our email at: info@cooperlandingchamber. com before December 9th. for a chance to win. The chamber board will pick a name and give the lucky submitter a $25.00 gift certificate to Wildman’s.

Light up the Landing everyone. The Chamber has a few new lights on our building. The more the merrier!

Volunteering Opportunities:

The Cooper Landing AC has 15 undesignated seats with members from Cooper Landing and Moose Pass. Committee meetings are held 2–4 times per year, as needed. The AC is active in local habitat and federal subsistence issues. Areas of interest are sport, personal use fishing and guiding, as well as hunting, trapping and subsistence. Areas of jurisdiction for the Cooper Landing AC are GMUs 7, 15, and 16, and Cook Inlet–Resurrection Bay fisheries.

This commission is an extension of the Kenai Peninsula Borough’s Planning Commission and advises that body and the Borough Assembly on land management concerns in our area. Each commissioner is appointed by the mayor and approved by the Assembly. Each commissioner has a term of office of three years.

Light Up The Landing

Join us in brightening up Cooper Landing this winter by decorating the outside of your home or work with festive holiday lights. Let’s bring the community together by lighting up the darkest time of year with fun-filled light attractions. White light or multi-colored light displays are welcomed and encouraged. Add a figurine reindeer, inflatable Santa, or go all out with a choreographed light show. Use your imagination and join in on the fun November 26th through February 14th.

Name Our Snowman &

Bringing cheer to all who drive the Sterling Highway, this nine foot tall decorative center piece waves no matter the weather. Get a glimpse of the friendly soul as you drive by Wildman’s and help us think of a proper name for our new friend.

Get out your thinking caps and submit your name ideas by Friday, December 9th for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate to Wildman’s.

Cooper Landing Community School Activities

Our local non-profit Community School program is offering the following activities:

Walk or Workout - Mondays-Fridays (school days only), 7:30-8:30am and 2:303:30pm, Cooper Landing School gymnasium. Walk laps, or use the step climber, rowing machine, universal weight system, and free weights. Adults only, please.

Tot Time! - Mondays and Wednesdays, 12-1pm, Cooper Landing School gymnasium

Bring the little ones out to play with friends, run in the gym, and work off some energy.

Yoga with Dusty or Liz -(Will resume in January) Tuesdays, 9am, Cooper Landing Community Hall

With focus on breath work, strength and yoga flow, our hope is to create a space and a practice for all community members that will be progressive through the winter. Note: We will be practicing with music. Bring your own mat. Props and modifications will be available. $5 per session. Call/text Dusty Byrd for more information, 907-202-0129.

Volleyball - Thursdays, 6pm, Cooper Landing School gymnasium

Adults only. Please have clean, non-marking shoes to play in.

All activities during school hours (afternoon Walk/Workout and Tot Time) require participants to first complete a school volunteer application, found here. When the application has been approved, you will be notified by email. You can then participate in these activities. Please feel free to stop by the school between 9am and 3pm for assistance with this application.
