November 2021
Cooper Landing Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center Greetings Neighbors and Chamber Members,
Board Of Directors
We hope you all had a fun Halloween weekend and no ghouls got you. It is hard to believe it is November already and we are headed into the holidays. Please enjoy your Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Remember to give thanks for all your blessings and prayers to those who are ill or struggling. There will be organizations that will be reaching out to you to help those in need, and your generous donations are appreciated by those groups and the benefactors. “Light up the Landing” is the theme for brightening the town with lights. White lights, multi-colored lights, figures of reindeer, use your imagination! Let’s turn on those lights this year the day after Thanksgiving and not turn them off until February14th Valentine’s Day. Give our travelers through our town a glimpse of our warmth as a community. Have some fun and give a reason for customers to come see us in the winter. You have received in the mail by now your invoices for the membership renewal and for the renewal of the Upper Kenai River Guide advertisement. We are asking that you return them by November 15th or earlier. We are a bit late in getting the invoices out to you, but to work on the Upper Kenai River Guide and get it to the printers as scheduled, we need your cooperation. If you are not renewing either your membership or advertisement, let us know before this date. There will be public announcements from the Forest Service regarding the campground closures next summer. Please watch for these on the Cooper Landing Crier, Moose Pass Crier, Facebook, etc. This will impact our businesses in many ways.

Any suggestions of how the board can improve and support the community are appreciated. Halloween Festivities Halloween is a popular holiday at Cooper Landing School. For several, it is the best holiday of the year (ahem, Ms. Krissy)! We celebrated this year by wearing our costumes all day, solving Halloween themed math problems, drawing haunted houses, making paper mache pumpkins, and playing ghoulish PE games. We ended the day with a class dance party in lieu of a parade. Thank you Nana for bringing us Halloween goodie bags!
