Kashi fondly remembers the beginning of her U of T Scarborough experience: “The first day on campus was by far one of my most memorable experiences. The people I met on my first day, and throughout my first week on campus, have become some of my closest friends.” Since then, Kashi has made the most of her time as a student by getting involved. “ I chose to be part of a lot of clubs because I really wanted to get involved and get connected with students on campus. The experiences not only allow you to build skills, but also to network and meet like-minded individuals. Law Society of UTSC, UTSC StudyHub, Margins Magazine (UTSC’s Women’s and Trans Centre’s in-house publication), Scarborough Campus Students’ Union, and all of the non-profit organizations I am part of really allow me to put myself out there, get involved, meet people within my program, and develop skills that will last a lifetime.” Kashi notes that her involvement on campus has transformed her from a quiet high school student to a leader known for her advocacy and people skills.
