ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CAMPUS
For students studying away from home, building a community on campus makes for a full university experience. Living in on-campus student housing helps students move out of their comfort zones and meet new people. Adam enjoyed living on campus so much, he joined the Residence Life Team in his second year to promote a safe and supportive space for students to study and live in. He shares, “The best part about living on campus is the incredible community. Students from all over the world are able to share their culture and life experiences with one another. It makes for a diverse, welcoming and awesome place to be.” Living independently may sometimes feel overwhelming but there is always an aspect that will make you feel at home. For Adam, it was the close proximity to nature. “ Growing up in Northwestern Ontario, I was always outside. Getting outdoors has always been my way of recharging my batteries. Seeing a deer run across campus or spending some time in the valley helps me slow down and relax after a week of studying.”
