Dear VAUDE partners, When was the last time you ventured out on an adventure? Dared something new, or left your comfort zone? Either at work or at play? Fresh perspectives that both change us and bring about change in our lives. As pioneers, we aren’t afraid to head down a path that’s uncertain or unconventional. Last season, with the launch of the Green Shape Core Collection, we started a new chapter in the history of environmentally-friendly outdoor apparel. A thoroughly sustainable collection that offers a host of innovative and exclusive material advancements and that is versatile enough to cover a broad range of outdoor activities. The collection’s unmitigated success and numerous awards have encouraged us to continue to develop the concept. For the Summer 2019 season, we’re adding even more elements to the Green Shape Core Collection. The concept of multiuse continues to play a central role; we’ve also paid attention to a high level of functionality when it comes to biking. Aside from your own two feet, biking is the most eco-friendly means of transport there is. We’re continuously enriching our product range with green innovations and our ‘Green Shape tree’ is growing steadily. It’s the milk – in the felt – that does it! In this product we use QMilk felt. Fibers made from cow‘s milk are processed with wool fibers to produce this unique felt material composite. The milk we work with can no longer be used for consumption purposes because of strict regulations and would otherwise be disposed of. Silky, fine protein fibers can be extracted from this valuable natural product in a very energy-efficient process. It‘s the milk: By refining it with the QMilk fiber, conventional wool felt becomes silky soft and offers natural, antibacterial properties in direct contact with skin.
