Secretary’s Report

Member subscriptions are due this month, so if you have provided an email address your invoice will be sent by this method in the next week or two, if National Office doesn’t have an email listing in their data base that relates to you then your invoice will slowly come by post. If not paid on time you will receive ONE reminder from National Office that you have not paid. Please give this your urgent attention during October /November as with our branch bordering on 1300 members every year I end up with a 100 to 200 unfinancial members which seem to carry though to next year and hangs around my neck (desk) for months. This year I may not be contacting you to remind you that you are about to lose your continuity of membership, you will just drop off the data base, it is up to you. In a club of say 100 this would not be an issue, but for us it is huge. Most of the committee have spent a lot of hours this month trying to contact those members who do not have email, 178 to be precise, and the number of people who no longer have a land line is enormous too. If you are one of these people would you give your urgent attention to updating National Office that this number is no longer active and provide your cell phone number or email if you have one admin@vcc.org.nz Quote your Surname and membership number IMPORTANT or let me know at canterbury@vcc.org.nz. Well on that note we move on and hopefully will move out of level two before the end of October. As you will already know we have postponed the Swap Meet for October and have pencilled in the last weekend in November 26/27/28 , not an easy task with all Branches trying to find new dates and you certainly can’t please everybody but we do try. Hopefully happy motoring or for some fossicking at swap meet, see you there if you are immunised, if not “REALLY” well I never.
